What does it mean to be complete in Christ?

Answered in 25 sources

Being complete in Christ means that believers lack nothing spiritually because all they need for salvation and sanctification is found in Him (Colossians 2:10).

To be complete in Christ signifies that through His redemptive work, believers possess all they need for their spiritual lives. Colossians 2:10 asserts that in Christ, we are complete, meaning there is no deficiency in what is required for salvation and sanctification. This completeness is not based on personal performance or devotion but on Christ's sufficiency. The believer's position in Christ ensures they have access to all spiritual blessings and graces necessary for their journey of faith. As such, any teaching that suggests additional acts or experiences are required for spiritual completeness diminishes the sufficiency of Christ and is contrary to the gospel.
