The Bible teaches that obedience to God's commands is a sign of knowing Him and is essential for the Christian life.

According to 1 John 2:3-6, we can know that we have come to know God if we obey His commands. A claim to know Him must be accompanied by a life of obedience; otherwise, such a claim is deceitful. The essence of the Scriptures is transformative, meant to mold our will to align with God's intentions, and our obedience is the evidence of a heart alive with grace. This obedience is more than mere compliance; it is a response of gratitude and love stemming from our relationship with God.
