What does the Bible say about the depravity of man?

Answered in 17 sources

The Bible teaches that all humans are dead in trespasses and sins, unable to respond to God without divine intervention (Ephesians 2:1).

Scripture reveals that the natural man is at enmity against God and is spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1). This means unless God intervenes through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit, a person will remain unrepentant, regardless of the warnings or judgments they witness in their life. Ahaziah, for instance, despite seeing divine judgments, refused to turn to God, illustrating the profound depth of human depravity that only God's grace can overcome.
