Why does God allow temptations in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

God allows temptations to test our faith and help us grow spiritually.

In James 1:13-14, it is clarified that God does not tempt anyone, but temptations arise from our desires. These trials and temptations provide an opportunity for growth and maturity in faith. As believers meet challenges, they learn reliance on God and His wisdom, which aids in demonstrating the authenticity of their faith. Temptations are a part of God's sovereign plan to refine us, producing patience and deeper dependence on His grace.
