What does the Bible say about the meat offering in Leviticus?

The meat offering in Leviticus symbolizes the perfection and obedience of Christ in His life, highlighting His unblemished nature and His role as our perfect representative.

The meat offering specified in Leviticus chapter 2 serves as a significant typological reference to the Lord Jesus Christ, setting forth His perfection and obedience in life. Unlike the blood offerings, the meat offering was bloodless, symbolizing the aspect of Christ's life and work in relation to His people. It was composed of fine flour, emphasizing the purity and sinlessness of Christ, as He was without blemish and fully pleasing to God. The fine flour, without lumps, reflects the perfection of His humanity, portraying the completeness of His character and the absolute lack of sin in His life. Furthermore, the anointing with oil conveys the significance of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s incarnation and ministry, illustrating that He was designated by God as the Anointed One.

Leviticus 2:1-13, Matthew 1:18, Acts 10:38

How do we know the meat offering represents Christ?

The meat offering represents Christ by depicting His perfect obedience and the sufficiency of His life as our representative before God.

The meat offering, as described in Leviticus 2, represents Christ in multiple facets. It highlights His impeccable obedience and sinlessness, crucial for understanding His role as our mediator. The ingredients, such as fine flour mingled with oil and the addition of frankincense, represent Christ's perfect humanity and the divine anointing by the Holy Spirit. These elements denote that He fulfilled all righteousness on behalf of God's elect, making Him the only fitting representative before God. As Christians, we recognize that this offering illustrates not only Christ's character but also the manner in which He completely satisfies divine justice and upholds God’s covenant promises, thereby assuring believers of their acceptance based upon His life.

Leviticus 2:1-11, John 3:34, Hebrews 5:8

Why is the meat offering important for Christians?

The meat offering is important for Christians as it illustrates the life of Christ and assures believers of their daily sustenance through Him.

The significance of the meat offering for Christians cannot be overstated, as it represents Jesus Christ's exemplary life, which is foundational for understanding our relationship with God. This offering, being bloodless, emphasizes Christ's perfect submission and obedience to the Father throughout His earthly ministry, culminating in the ultimate sacrifice of Himself. Moreover, the meat offering also serves as a reminder of the believer's ongoing reliance on Christ for daily sustenance, as they are encouraged to 'eat of Him' by faith. As priests who partake of this offering, believers are invited to fellowship with Him, reflecting on His sufficiency and the grace found in Him daily. Thus, the meat offering not only illustrates Christ's past obedience but also assures the believer's present dependence upon Him for every spiritual need.

Turn with me to the book of Leviticus
chapter 2. Leviticus chapter 2. I'd like to speak to you for a few
moments concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, that One is immaculate, that one that
Brother Scott mentioned who had a body prepared for him. Let's read. In Leviticus chapter 2, I'd like
to read the first 11 verses. And he shall pour oil upon it,
and put frankincense thereon. And he shall bring it to Aaron's
sons, the priests. And he shall take thereout his
handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with
all the frankincense thereof. And the priest shall burn the
memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire
of a sweet savor unto the Lord. of the meat offering shall be
Aaron's and his son's. It is the thing most holy of
the offerings of the Lord made by fire. And if thou bring an
oblation, that means a gift, an oblation of a meat offering,
bacon in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour
mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil, If
the oblation be a meat offering, bacon in a pan, it shall be of
fine flour, unleavened, mingled with oil. Thou shalt part it
in pieces and pour oil thereon. It is a meat offering. And if
thy oblation be a meat offering, bacon in the frying pan, it shall
be made of fine flour with oil. Thou shalt bring the meat offering
that is made of these things unto the Lord. And when it is
presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.
And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial
thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar. It is an offering
made by fire of a sweet savour unto the Lord. And that which
is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his son's. It is the offering most holy
of the offerings of the Lord made by fire. No meat offering
which ye shall bring unto the Lord shall be made with leaven. For ye shall burn no leaven,
nor any honey in any offering of the Lord made by fire." The last two times we looked in the
book of Leviticus, we looked in chapter 1, it dealt with an
offering referred to, called, set forth, the burnt offering. The burnt offering set forth."
Now, you have to understand, I've said this before, the more
we hear it, the more we understand. These offerings were not set
forth by our Lord, our God, for no reason. It is a, the Scripture
just said, a most holy thing. These offerings, each offering
set forth the Lord Jesus Christ and set forth Him in His offices
in His aspects, as you will. The burnt offering set forth
the Lord Jesus Christ, the one we dealt with last time, set
forth the Lord Jesus Christ who was the willing, perfect sacrifice
before Almighty God, a sweet savor unto the Lord. God Almighty
satisfied, pleased the burnt offering. The meat offering that
we look at tonight sets forth the Lord Jesus Christ, the perfect,
willing representative of His people. The burnt offering, the
sweet savor in His death. The meat offering tonight, the
sweet savor to the Father in His life. The meat offering followed
the burnt offering. I won't go into it tonight, but
I'll tell you this. One night, one day, Lord willing,
we'll deal with why God accepted Abel's sacrifice. He didn't accept
Cain's sacrifice. It has to do with these offerings
right here. We won't deal with that. But
this was a bloodless offering that set forth in all of its
symbols in all of its ingredients, the character of the Lord Jesus
Christ in His life. Now, this is very, very interesting,
profitable, joyful to the believer. This offering sets forth the
Man, Christ Jesus, the God-Man. He who sits now on the throne
and represents the people of Almighty God, the elect. This
is who this offering sets forth. Who was our representative? Who was he? This is what this
offering is picturing. Here, rightly perceived, we behold
the character of our Lord, the God-Man, and it gives great comfort
and assuredness to God's elect who represents us. I've entitled this the meat offering. I'll entitle each one we deal
with that offering. But tonight, actually, we behold
the Lord Jesus Christ, our representative in life. The meat offering was
one that started, demanded, the Scripture says in verse 1, of
Leviticus 2, if any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord,
his offering shall be of fine flour." Now what that meant was
it was flour that was sifted and it had absolutely no lumps
in it. It was fine flour, finely sifted. Here we behold the perfection
of the Lord Jesus Christ, the man, Christ Jesus, in His infinite
purity. He who sits on the throne, this
fine flower, now when we talk about this fine flower, the perfection
of His humanity, the perfection of His humanity, the Lord Jesus
Christ was not conceived by a man. The Lord Jesus Christ, a body
that was prepared for Him, He is the pure man. The man Christ
Jesus who sits upon the throne, in Him, He is perfect sympathy
for His people. There's no lumps in Him. Fine
flour, that's what it means. No lumps. You know when someone
is referred to as a genius, People talk about a genius. A genius
is a person that normally speaking excels in one part of his life. He may be a great mathematician,
but he cannot figure out how much to buy at the grocery store
to eat tomorrow. He may be absolutely a genius
when it comes to sciences, But on the other hand, he may be
an idiot when it comes to something else, a genius. He excels in
one portion. But in other portions, he doesn't. The Lord Jesus Christ, when it
speaks of fine flour, there was no area of the Lord Jesus Christ
that was over and above any other area. He is the fullness of the
Godhead bodily in Him. He who sits on the throne, His
love for His throne is fathomless. There is no end to the love that
the Lord Jesus Christ has for His own. His power, the one that
represents us, His power is all power. All power in heaven and
earth is given unto the Son. By Him, all things were made
that were made. He spoke into existence everything. Wisdom, His wisdom, infinite
wisdom, omniscient. The Scripture describes Him in
the book of Proverbs as being wisdom that came up with the
Father. I was always before Him. Resources,
exhaustless. His riches, unsearchable. His
ear, always open to His people. His heart, unspeakable love toward
us. Fine flour. The One who represents
us is the One who said, My meat is to do the will of Him that
sent me and to finish the work. The One of whom we speak, described
in this fine flower, worked out a perfect righteousness for the
elect. The Lord Jesus Christ, Jehovah's
perfect, Jehovah's righteous servant, set forth by fine flower
If you are going to present, to bring, to offer a meat offering,
his offering shall be fine flour. And he shall pour oil upon it
and put frankincense upon it. Now if you look at verse 4, verse
4 says, If thou bring an oblation of a meat offering, bacon in
the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with
oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. Now the oil on the
fine flour of the meat offering had oil two ways. Number one, it was to be mingled
with the fine flour. It was to be put into the fine
flour. And then afterwards, oil was
to be poured on the mixture of the fine flour and the oil. Now this two-fold application
of the oil, oil represents the Spirit of God. Oil sets forth
the Holy Ghost in Scripture. Oil mingled set forth the incarnation
of our Lord. Turn with me to Matthew chapter
1. Matthew 1. Matthew chapter 1. Let's look at verse 18. Now the
birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise when, as His mother
Mary was a spouse to Joseph, before they came together, she
was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph, her husband,
being a just man and not willing to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away privileged. But while he thought on these
things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in
a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take
unto thee Mary thy wife. For that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Ghost. She shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his
people from their sins. Now all this was done that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,
saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring
forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which is being
interpreted, God with us." Now this meat offering that was to
be offered, it was fine flour that spoke of His perfect humanity. Perfect in all ways. It was mingled
with the oil. So that fine flour and that oil
come together and it set forth the incarnation of the Lord Jesus
Christ. The angel told Mary, that which
is conceived within you is of the Holy Ghost. Mary conceived
the Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of God, not by man. The sin of man was not within
Him. The Spirit of God says that holy
thing that is within you. Fine flour, His humanity. The oil mingled with that flour,
His deity. And then the Scripture says back
in Leviticus that oil was to be poured upon it. And it will offer a meat offering
unto the Lord. His offering shall be a fine flour and shall pour
oil upon it. This pouring of the oil set forth
the anointing of the Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of God. He was conceived by the Spirit
of God and He was anointed by the Spirit of God. Acts 10 38
says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed
of the devil for God was with Him. Turn with me to Luke Luke
4. The Lord Jesus Christ had been
asked to read the Scripture. He got up and read out of Luke
4, starting in verse 18. Scripture says in verse 17, there
was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when
he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written.
And here's where we read. He read, The Spirit of the Lord
is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the
poor. He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach
deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the
acceptable. Year by year He closed the book
and gave it to the ministers, and set down the eyes of all
them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him. And He
began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture. fulfilled
in your ears." He read the Scripture that was concerning Himself,
concerning His anointing. He was conceived by the Holy
Ghost. He was anointed by the Holy Ghost. God Almighty, John 3, 34, giveth
not the Spirit by measure unto Him. The significance of this
is that the Lord Jesus Christ is the living, divine center
by which all that is done by the Spirit of God is done by
Him. The Spirit of God anointed Him. You remember, whenever an anointing
was taking place, Samuel was anointed. Anointed King. You remember that when the prophet
anointed? That anointing was symbolizing
the setting apart or the setting forth to service. That's what
it was. The anointing. The Lord says,
He has anointed Me. He anointed Me. The Spirit of
God. And He is the Anointed One. Without Him, we can do nothing. The Lord Jesus Christ said, I,
by the Spirit of God, cast out devils. Without Him, you, I,
were hopelessly and helplessly incompetent to do anything. He is the Anointed One by being
in Him. to preach the gospel. Little
Scott stood up here. Preach the gospel. Reading of
Scriptures. Let me ask you this, just like
you said a moment ago. What do you think that I can
do? I'm a man. I'm a man. That's all. All that can be done
must be done by Him. The Lord says, without Me, you
can do nothing. He is the anointed One. And being
in Him and being blessed by Him, by the Spirit of God, God Almighty
ministers to His people. Not me. I am an unprofitable
servant. When I have done all that I could
do, that's all I would be. Christ is all in all. He is the
one anointed to preach. That's what He said concerning
Himself. And then the Scripture says that after the oil was put
in it and the oil was poured on it, it says in verse 1 of
Leviticus chapter 2, put frankincense on it. Frankincense was a sweet
gum that produced a wonderful fragrance when fire was put to
it. the significance of that frankincense. Now remember, we speak and consider
the Lord Jesus Christ in the meat offering as the perfect,
willing, obedient servant in life, walked before Almighty
God, sweet Savior unto Him. Everything that He did, all that
He did, He did to the glory of His Father. I do only those things
that please Him. Here we see the pleasure of the
Father. Put frankincense on it. And when
that fire was put to that frankincense mingled with that oil that was
in the fine flour and poured on it, it would start to burn. And then that savor, you could
smell that frankincense. It smelled of sweetness unto
the Father. In the trials and temptations,
and the oppressions of our Lord, never was there a deviation. Fine flour. Perfect control. The greatest word of hope that's
ever heard by a needy sinner was spoken by our Lord in the
frankincense, in the sweet savor of His obedience, when He said,
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me nevertheless. not as I will, but as Thou wilt."
You see, the fire of suffering exhibits the sweetness of His
obedience. And then the Scripture says that
it has to have salt. Look at verse 13. We're going
to deal with verses 12 to 16, Lord willing, next time. But
I want you to see something in verse 13. It says, "...Every
oblation of Thy meat offering shalt Thou season with salt."
salt must be." He says, don't make an offering without salt. Salt is a preservative. Christ, our blessed representative,
endured under the persecution of man, under the testings and
temptings of Satan. He endured, maintained, Fulfilled
in that everlasting covenant. Never deviated. Salt. Preserved. And leaven. Leaven was not to
be placed in the meat offering. Look at verse 11. Leviticus 1.11. No meat offering which ye shall
bring unto the Lord shall be made with leaven, for she shall
burn no longer. Leaven is a symbol of sin. There is no expression of evil
in the man Christ Jesus. Remember, He is the Holy One,
conceived by the Holy Ghost, anointed by the Holy Ghost. Fine
flour in Him was life. No sin. No sin in the texture
of His humanity, none in His Word, none in His thoughts, none
in His deeds. There has been but one sinless
man. This meat offering set forth
the man, Christ Jesus. One man. One. The meat offering set forth the
perfect, unblemished man, conceived and anointed by God's Spirit,
possessor of an unleavened nature that maintained the covenant
of grace by His obedience." But there was another thing that
was excluded from the meat offering. In verse 11, it also says, after
there shall be no leaven, you shall burn no leaven nor any
honey. in any offering of the Lord made
by fire. I looked up to find out what
this honey represented. While leaven expresses that which
is evil, sin, honey represents that which is a sweet and attractiveness
concerning this world. All that which will eventually
decay and spoil Sensual indulgences which really never satisfy. Nothing is fuller of honey and
sweetness and attractiveness to the natural man than sin. The honey of sin. Pleasure. Sensual pleasure. James 1.14
says, Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust
and enticed Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth
sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Proverbs
25, 16 says, Hath thou found honey? Eat so much as is sufficient
for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Honey sets forth that which this
earth, this world, offers that appears to be sweet, that appears
to be what you may think you want. There was nothing within
the Lord Jesus Christ that would yield to the pleasure of this
world. Why? Because He was filled with
the Holy Ghost. without measure. In Him there
was no sin. There was no desire for sin. When Satan tempted Him with the
honey of this world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the
flesh, and the pride of life, He said, you hungry? Hungry,
aren't you? Hadn't eaten in 40 days, have
you? Why don't you turn those bones
right there to bread? Why don't you do that? He said,
it's written. Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth." He said, look at all these things
I give you. I'll give you all of these kingdoms
if you'll just bow down and worship Me. Thou shalt worship the Lord
thy God alone. What will a man give in exchange
for his soul? You leave a man to himself and
he'll exchange anything for his soul. Honey. No leaven and no
honey. Nothing detracted him. Now, this meat offering the Scripture
sets forth could be baked in an oven, baked in a pan, baked
in a frying pan. That's verses 4 through 7. We read that. Now, these processes
of baking speak of suffering. There's no doubt about that. Now, you have to understand,
the different offerings set forth, the different aspects of our
Lord. Burnt offering, perfect and obedient
in His death. Meat offering, perfect, obedient
in His life. We will look at the sin offering.
That sin offering was offered outside the camp. Okay? A picture of when sin was placed,
imputed, charged to his account, and God forsook him. No mention
of a sweet savor. In this burnt offering, though,
it speaks of a sweet savor. Here, the Lord God of heaven
satisfied in what He beheld in His obedient Son. Inasmuch as
the meat offering speaks of the perfect obedience of the man
Christ Jesus, we ask ourselves, What are these, the placing in
the pans, the frying pan? What do they represent? Well, these are the sufferings
that he endured. These sufferings, it was placed
on the fire and it was placed on that altar and they'd bring
it in a portion. I'll tell you about that in a
minute. But they would take, and in these pans, they would
take it and bake that meat offering, flour and oil and frankincense
placed upon Him, baked in that frying pan. These speak of the
sufferings in this life. Remember, the meat offerings
speak of Him in this life. The obedient servant, Christ
the Man. These sufferings He endured. He endured as a righteous man. As a righteous man among an evil
and adulterous generation. On the cross, He suffered with
the guilt of sin upon Him. But these sufferings were in
His walk in this earth. He suffered in divine sympathy. What do I mean by that? He suffered
even in the sense that He was touched by the feelings of our
infirmities. I found three places in Scripture
that speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ as far as weeping was
concerned. In Luke 19, verse 41, He wept
over Jerusalem. Oh, Jerusalem. Jerusalem. How
I would have taken you to Myself. Someone says, can you understand?
Can you explain to me the depth of what He was saying? He said
He wept over them. He said you wouldn't come. I'm
going to have to be honest with you. I can't explain to you the
depth of what He said. Secondly, I found at the tomb
of Lazarus, John 11, 35, at the tomb of Lazarus. Now, I know
this. The Lord was touched with the
feelings of our infirmities, yet without sin. What does that
mean? It means that He, as the perfect
man, was touched. He could know the feelings of
our infirmities. He was touched with them. He
was acquainted with our grief. Now, there's some things that
grieve me, Pat. There's some things. I'll be
honest with you. I grieve over some stuff. But I'll tell you what I grieve
over more than anything else. It's my unbelief. That grieves
me. Paul said, O wretched man that
I am. That grieves me. I am thankful. This woman said to me this morning,
I am thankful for all of grace if He would leave me to myself.
But I know that the Scripture says He was touched with the
feelings of our infirmities, yet without sin. He is the perfect
man. And He knew. He knew. He could behold. He could see
what was going on. He knew the thoughts of the Pharisees. He knew what they thought. He
knew what they felt. He knew. He's God. He's omnipotent. Omniscient. He knows all the
things. We're not hiding anything from Him. How many times in the
Scriptures do we find where they would think certain things and
they thought and the Lord told them. He said, this is what you
thought. He knew. At the tomb of Lazarus. He had
waited four days. He came to the tomb of Lazarus.
And he said, remove the stone. And Martha said, Lord, by now
he stinks. You know, in case you don't know.
It had been four days. In case you don't know. And he knew. She didn't believe
Him. He knew. And He groaned. He groaned. How much under the
weight that He suffered knowing He was acquainted with our infirmities. He was touched in all parts,
yet without sin. Oh, the sufferings that He endured
in this life At the tomb of Lazarus, the Scripture says, he wept. Hebrews 5, 7 and 8 says, who
in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and
supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able
to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared, though
he were a son, yet learned he obedience by the things that
he suffered. He suffered. in this life. He
suffered. Like no man knows anything about
suffering. We talk about suffering. Oh,
I've suffered. We don't know anything about
suffering. This man suffered. He suffered in the Garden of
Gethsemane. Turn with me to Luke. Luke 22. Let's see what the Spirit of
God says. Luke 22, verse 42. Luke 22.42, saying, Father, if
Thou be willing, remove this cup from me, nevertheless not
my will, but Thine be done. And there appeared an angel unto
him from heaven, strengthening him, and being in agony, he prayed
more earnestly, and his sweat was as it were great drops of
blood falling down to the ground. Turn back to Matthew 26. Matthew 26, verse 36. Then cometh Jesus with them unto
a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit
ye here while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and
the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very
heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul
is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death. Tarry ye here, and
watch with me. And he went a little farther,
and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be
possible, let this cup pass from me nevertheless, not as I will,
but as Thou wilt. This man is the man, the perfect
man. conceived by the Holy Ghost,
anointed by the Holy Ghost, the obedient servant that knew something,
that knew everything, let me say it like that, about suffering. Here he speaks of a cup of which
he had not so far had to drink. He suffered in Gethsemane anticipating
the cross. He suffered at Calvary. enduring
the cross. Here is our representative, the
Lord Jesus Christ. This meat offering sets forth
His life, His suffering for righteousness' sake. He endured the contradiction
of sinners against Him. He had to endure the reproach
of them. They reproached God. They mocked
Him. They spit on Him. The sin offering
sets forth his death sufferings for imputed guilt's sake. This offering sets forth his
sufferings for righteousness' sake." The Lord Jesus Christ. And then, after that offering
was to be offered, the Scripture says back in Leviticus, it says
in verse 10, it says, "...that which is left of the meat offering
shall be Aaron's and his sons. Only the priest could partake
of this offering. The offering was brought, a portion
of it was taken and broken off, and that portion was placed upon
the altar, and it was presented unto the Lord as a meat offering,
a sweet savor unto the Lord. And the priest would take the
rest that was left and they could eat of it. Now, what does that
set forth? That sets forth the believer's
feasting upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Eat of me. We partake
of the bread and of the cup when we remember the Lord in His table,
the Lord's table. We eat of that flesh. He said,
eat of me. We eat of Him. We take of Him. By faith, He is appropriated. He is our portion. Leviticus
chapter 6. And with this, I'm going to wrap
this up. Leviticus chapter 6 and verse 20. Look at that. Leviticus 6.20. It says, This
is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall
offer unto the Lord in the day when He is anointed. The tenth
part of ephah, of fine flour, for a meat offering perpetual,
half of it in the morning and half thereof in the evening. The Lord did not even leave to
chance how much of this are you supposed to produce. You take
the fine flour, a tenth part of an ephah. You say, well, what
does that mean? Turn with me to Exodus 16. Exodus 16, verse 16. Exodus 16, verse 16. Concerning the manna, remember
when the children of Israel were in the desert and the manna would
fall and they would go out and gather manna. This is the thing. which the Lord hath commanded,
gather of it every man according to his eating an omer for every
man according to the number of your persons. Take ye every man
for them which are in his tents." Every man was commanded he could
have an omer. An omer. That was a daily portion
for one man. An omer. Okay? Now turn with
me to Exodus 16, verse 36. Exodus 16, verse 36. The Scripture
says, now, an omer is the tenth part of an ephah. The tenth part
of an ephah is an omer. Back in Leviticus chapter 6 and
verse 20, the Scripture says, we will take the tenth part of
an ephah. And that will be your meat offering. That's how much you will offer. That tenth part of an ephah,
which was equal to an omer, which was the amount of food that would
sustain a man for one day. One day. When that meat offering
was brought, that meat offering that was made, that set forth
in its proportion how much would keep man alive for one day. Set forth the Lord, our portion,
our sustenance, who keeps us daily. We live by faith. They said, I think I'm going
to gather a little bit more and maybe get me a little bit more
manna for tomorrow, and the Scripture says the worms would eat it. That meat offering is sufficient. He said, I am your portion. It's
sufficient. That amount that was offered
set forth that we live on Him daily. Give us this day our daily
bread. Lord, we eat of You today. This
is the meat offering. It set forth the perfection of
our blessed Savior as the man, the God-man, our representative. This is who represents us. Fine
flour mingled with oil, anointed with oil. Frankincense put upon
it. Sweet Savior. We eat. Those priests
would eat of that portion. We are kings and priests unto
God by Him. And we offer unto Him the sacrifice
of our praise and thanksgiving and Lord willing, next time we'll
look at that last portion that was the wave of the first fruits,
the first fruit offering. And what did that set forth?
The meat offering. Our blessed representative.
