That's good. End this glad hour. I like that. David said, I was
glad when they said unto me, let us go unto the house of the
Lord. We meet together this morning for about an hour. And may the
Lord be pleased to make it glad. And after, upon leaving here,
may we say with these disciples on the road to Emmaus, Did not
our hearts burn within us as he opened the scriptures unto
us by the way? Matthew chapter 12. Matthew 12
is the text. As you should know, I announced
it Wednesday. Matthew 12. Our Lord is speaking in verse
42, he says. The Lord says, "...the Queen
of the South shall rise up in the judgment with this generation,
and shall condemn it. For she came from the uttermost
parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold,
a greater than Solomon is here." The Lord Jesus Christ said, this
woman from Sheba is where she's from, will condemn this generation,
his generation, which is our generation. She will condemn
this generation of religious pretenders and part-time professors
because of the great lengths she went to in order to hear
the wisdom of Solomon, a man, a great man, but just a man. And he said, And behold, a greater
than Solomon is here, not was here, is here. Whenever two or three are met
together this greater than Solomon is here. And he said, she will condemn
this generation, our generation. So let's look at another, at
this, at this story and another glorious picture found in the
book of third Kings, third Kings chapter 10. You find it, Third Kings? Well, if you look at First Kings,
it says it's commonly called Third Kings. The first time you'll
be in First Kings. Some of you found it. Some of
you are listening. Third Kings, Chapter 10. First
Kings, Chapter 10. Another wonderful picture. Every time we look at an Old
Testament type, I think this is the greatest type of picture
of Christ in Scripture. And whatever it is we're looking
at at the time is my favorite, such as Ruth or Boaz. Oh, how I love that story. Lefebvre,
David, so on and so forth. A wonderful picture and type
of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom Solomon represents here. Solomon,
David's son, son of David, is the king here, and he represents
the king of kings, Jesus Christ. And this woman, Sheba, we don't
know her name, and that's fitting. Her name is really not important,
is it? And the fact of the matter is, all who come to Christ come
as nobody's. No names, not many wise, mighty
or noble, but we don't know her name, but she came. And she's
from Sheba. She's a queen and she represents.
Every single speaker of the truth, every single person who comes
to cry, she represents. Those and this is another story
of salvation, all the scriptures Our stories are stories of salvation
of the king on the throne and those whom he reveals himself
to. And this is another one of those. And she came, the Lord
said of this woman, she came from the uttermost parts of the
earth. Back then, the uttermost parts of the earth, great lengths
she went to. And it was a great cost and our
Lord said. To us, seeking me, you shall
find me when you search for me with. All your. All your. First one. First Kings or third King. When
the Queen of Sheba. Heard of the fame of Solomon.
concerning the name of the Lord. She came to prove him with hard
questions. Sheba was a place in southwest
Arabia. Southwest Arabia, 1,500 miles or more from Jerusalem. 1,500 miles. Now, how did she get there? On
a camel. And a camel, I looked it up,
goes about four or five miles per hour. And if she traveled,
let's say, 10 hours a day, it took her 30 days to get there. Our Lord said this woman will
condemn this generation. In light of major highways, and
four-wheel drives. It makes the lame excuses people
have just that, doesn't it? There's a man right here next
door that's never been in this building. It's thirty steps and all up and down the road.
She came thirty days to hear a man, Solomon. And I know you know why this
happened. Who he represents. Why did she
come? Why did she come? Verse one says
she heard of the fame of Solomon and concerning the name of the
Lord. She heard of Solomon, this great
king. She heard of a greatest king
on earth, greatest man, wisest man on earth. And she heard of
his Lord. His God. She heard that Solomon, this
king, he really is king. Greatest king on earth at the
time. And she heard his God is the one that made him king. And
his God, he is God. But Solomon's Lord, she heard
this all over. Solomon's Lord really is Lord.
The rest of them, the world's God's and Lord's of pretenders.
He really is Lord, true Lord. And there's a true king sitting
on the throne who will tell you about him. That's why she came. And why
did she come and other people didn't? That's just the story
of this one woman who came a long ways. I'm sure there were others,
but, you know, there were people who lived closer than she did,
that did not come. Why did she come? We read it,
didn't we, in Psalm 65, verse 4. Blessed is the man, blessed
is the woman whom thou choosest and causes to approach unto thee.
God Almighty in his sovereign mercy. He could have left her
in Sheba in her idolatry and in her ignorance. But he had
mercy upon her. God Almighty in his sovereign
grace caused her to hear this message. and cause her to approach
and come to Solomon. That's why she came. She wouldn't
have come otherwise. That's why she came. And that's
why you came. If left to ourselves, we wouldn't
come thirty steps to hear of the King of Kings, the greatest
story ever. We would not come thirty steps,
let alone thirty days. We wouldn't do it. Well, it says
she came to prove him with hard questions. Now, I don't think
this means that she came to have him prove herself to him. I don't think Solomon would have
listened to her. I don't think Solomon would have had her in
his presence had she come pompously and proudly and presumptuously
and cynically. Do you? Who does he think he
is? She just strutted in there, you
know, and said, I don't believe who you are. Oh, no, you think
he would have had her? He doesn't need her. She knew
there was another bunch of queens all over. She thought she was
a queen. Later on, she's going to find
out. After she sees the king, she's going to find out. Somebody
just gave me a tin crown and called me queen. Now, this means when she came
to prove him with hard questions, she had a bunch of difficult
questions in her mind. A bunch of questions in her heart,
deep, difficult questions, questions she could not answer. Nobody
she talked to could answer. All the people in her country
couldn't answer. And somebody said, well, there's a king on
a throne that they say is the wisest man who ever lived. He
can answer anybody's question. And she said, I got some hard
questions. They said, well, you go to him,
he'll answer them for you. So she came. Maybe he can. Let's see if he
is wisdom. if he can answer these questions
for me. And you know, there's nothing wrong with questions.
I wish, I really do, I wish that more people would ask some questions,
not silly questions, foolish questions. People are, everybody
asks foolish questions. No. Where can he get his wife? You know, just this and that. Why do you all have curtains
in your church? Things that don't amount to hillbilly.
But I wish people would ask serious questions. How can God be just
and justify ungodly sinners? What's the purpose of all things?
Do you really know? Does the scriptures really tell
us what the purpose of all things is? If God is in control, what's
his purpose? What's his will? What's his mind
and all that? What's happening here? What's
it all ended up? Where's it all headed? Hard question, isn't
it? Deep question. Difficult question.
Can it be answered? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ephesians
1, 9, and on and on, 11. I wish people would ask a hard
question. Who is Jesus Christ really? Who is He really? Is
He a man? Is He God? Is He man? Man, how
can it be God? Why did he come? What did he
do? Why was he killed? Where is he
now? What is this Holy Spirit? What
is the truth? I wish people would ask questions
like that, hard questions. The sincere seeker will have
an answer. to hear these hard questions
answered. And so she came, she traveled 30 days to find some
answers. She's serious, isn't she? She's
serious. She's sincere. Now let me tell
you how difficult it was for her and our Lord said when you
search with all your heart when you see this when the Lord says
seeking you shall find it doesn't mean you know. Ask one to ask and you shall
receive. I mean one time just carelessly a long time ago and
he didn't answer me so it means continual. Like the importunate
widow who kept coming, who kept coming. The Lord said, when the
Son of Man comes, will he find faith like that on the earth?
Will he find those who are really seeking him? You know, when we keep coming,
to whom coming? To who coming? Why do we keep
coming? You've heard this message before. But why do you keep coming? You
knew I was going to preach on it. Why did you keep coming?
We half hadn't been told. We preach in part. We come to
learn some more. Let's hear some more. It's something
I did. True seekers keep coming, keep coming. Keep coming, Christ. Sinners
keep coming, keep coming for mercy, don't they? For grace,
for help, for forgiveness, for grace to help inside, for wisdom.
Ignorant people come for wisdom from above. Keep coming. Where
is it found? We know there's one place to
find it. One place that he's caused to put his name there,
his glory there, his wisdom, to impart his wisdom. One book
where all the answers are found. So we keep coming. We've got
hard questions. And he answers them. Not all
at one time. We're not able to bear it. Here a little, there a little.
And we keep coming. Don't we? Is that why you come?
She did. She's a continual coming. And
like hers, it was a long, arduous journey. Now, listen to what
all she went through to get there. And this is all good type, but
she was a queen. Queens don't normally leave their
throne and go in search of things. And why are they? snap their fingers and you know
the queen of England lives better than. You're playing in our princess. Queen Elizabeth over there does
she go places to find things. She just snapped her fingers
and she just said go get me this. She's not, no, you know, this
is king of kings. He's not going to come at her
beckoning call. He's not at her beckoning call.
Kings are not. God is not at our beckoning call. God is not waiting, hoping, wishing,
standing outside our door and wanting to come in. She's going
to have to leave her throne. She's going to have to leave
all that pompous place. She's going to have to leave,
Barbara, all that adulation and adoration and all of her servants
and everybody waiting on her hand and foot. She's going to
have to come down off her throne and get on the back of a camel
or on the back of a wagon and travel a long journey. She's
going to have to become a nothing and a nobody, leave everything
to come and see this great one. Well, she's not going to see
His greatness sitting on her throne. She's going to have to
come down off her throne at the foot of Him to see His greatness. So she did. She's queen. She's going to have to forget
that, drop that, to come to this King. She's a woman. More difficult for a woman, without
a doubt. Weaker sex, had to travel 30
days. Long journey. On the camp back
of a camel? You say women back then were
heartier than they are now. They're not a queen. McQueen
wasn't. McQueen never lifted a finger. It's tough on her. She went through something, Tammy,
that probably she'd never done before. A long, hard journey. And I'm sure she felt on the
way this is this is just. I won't turn back to my said
no and when you hear him when you see him it would be worth
the trip. OK. I do want to hear it. So she
gained a woman she's a stranger. Solomon didn't know her. Oh he
probably knew about her he knew everything. He heard about her
but. Queens all over the country vying,
perhaps, for his attention, and she's a stranger to him. Nancy,
he does not have to hear her. She could have come 30 days,
and somebody said, The Queen of Sheba's here to talk to you. Send her away. I'm busy. Couldn't it? Couldn't it? That's
the king. But that's not fair. What do you mean it's not fair?
Cut his head off for saying that. God, this is, he represents
Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is not waiting on
anybody to do anything. He doesn't have to hear anybody. He doesn't have to answer anybody. He doesn't answer to us. Man
answers to him. He's not up for our acceptance
or rejection. We're up to his acceptance. Or rejection. He's a stranger. Maybe he'll
hear. Maybe she, maybe he won't. She knows this. Closer she got,
maybe he won't even hear me. You know, if you, Sheba, somebody
might have told her. If you come right in the right
way. He'll hear you. Matter of fact, he'll hear anybody,
whosoever comes to him. Humbly, meekly. You're approaching
a king, and he'll hear you. Reading between the lines here,
you see who this represents? The Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, he
will condemn this proud generation. The queen came off her throne,
went a long ways to hear And it was a great cost. Verse 2
says she came to Jerusalem with a very great train or entourage,
a bunch of people. It cost her lots to stand. This trip cost her the equivalent
today of maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars. To one trip to see this king. One trip, Jerry, one trip. Hundreds
of thousands of dollars. Yes, he will rise up in the judgment
against this generation. How much do you love the gospel? What's it worth to you? Reminds me of that story. Husband
and wife went home from a so-called church service one time, and
they were complaining about this, complaining about that, complaining
about this, complaining about that. A little boy that was with
them spoke up and said, Well, it's a pretty good show for a
quarter. It cost her thousands of dollars.
A very great time. A great sacrifice. Our Lord said
this, Jesus Christ said this, whosoever he be of you, whosoever
he be, here's a whosoever, whosoever he be or she be of
you, whoever it is, doesn't matter who it is, that forsaketh not
all that he or she hath, he cannot be my disciple. He even doesn't have to be a
believer, a disciple, no sir. Well, she came, it says, at great
cost, and verse 2 says, she communed with him of all that was in her
heart. She opened up her heart. You
see, the scripture says, with the heart man believeth. Out
of the heart are the issues of life. The Lord says to those
who come to him, my son, give me thine heart. God doesn't say
that to everybody. Says my son. Says that to his
people, and if we open up our hearts, his people, they open
up their hearts. All those true sincere seekers
who come and pour out their hearts before him, he'll he'll commune
with you. And he'll open up his heart.
He'll give you understanding and wisdom that you didn't have
before. Salvation. Sheba, as we said, that's what
we're going to call her, OK? She doesn't have a name. Sheba poured out her heart unto
him. Verse three, and it says Solomon
told her all her questions. He answered all her questions,
hard questions. They weren't hard to him. They
were hard for her. But they weren't hard for him.
And it says there was not anything hid from the king, which he told
her not. In other words, Jeanette, He
told her things that she wasn't even asking. She came and opened
up her heart to him, and he, in turn, opened up her heart
to things she didn't know was in her heart. In other words,
he began to expose to her her inner heart. She thought she
was poor, and he began to show her the deep recesses of her
own heart and mind, things she didn't understand, things she
wasn't even asking, until finally She was thinking within herself, I'm in the presence of someone
who's much greater than I am. Much, much, much, much, much
greater. Solomon told her all things, all her questions. It was not anything hid from
the king. And how do we, how does God reveal
himself to us? How does God speak to us? How? Through this right here, this
is how God. Reveals to us his will, his purpose, his heart,
his mind, the mind of God, and this is how God opens up our
heart. And this is how God reveals to
us our innermost thoughts, this is what the scripture said, the
word of God is quick. And not just a dead book, oh,
it's alive, it's powerful, it's sharper than any. Two-edged sword. Thrusting and paring. It doesn't
matter. It cuts. Wounding and healing. It's a
double-edged sword. Sharper than any two-edged sword.
Piercing, it says. Piercing. When you first heard
the truth. Did it not pierce you? Your conscience? Your heart smoked you? It's God's word that smoked your
heart. that pierced you through, went all the way through you.
You thought, he's seeing right into the recesses. Yeah, that's
what it said. To the dividing asunder of soul
and spirit of the joints and marrow is the discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. Scripture says, all things are
naked and open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Those who come to God in spirit and in truth, they have him He
have he reveals to them. He opens her heart to. Exposes
to them sins, they didn't. That's what light does, you know,
you go into a. A dark room. And, you know, unless
there's a little bit of light, you you can't see anything. You
know that. If you can see a little bit,
you know that. If you can see a little bit in
a dark room, it's not real, it's not really dark. There's some
light coming from somewhere. And men have little light, don't
they? But, you know, you turn on, flick
the switch, and you can see everything. You see everything. The entrance
of thy word giveth light. And what does it do? Light. Light comes pouring into the
heart. It reveals things that are there you didn't know were
there. In your heart, your mind, your conscience. It tells you
things. There's nothing hid from God.
Nothing hid from the King. If you come to God, you come...
Our Lord said this. They that come to Him, Come to
him to have their works made manifest. Reveal. Didn't he say that? Come
on now, I'm losing some of you. This is the greatest story in
this book. Come on. Hang with me. You got to sleep
late. This is why we come. This is
why true seekers come. Lord, reveal the truth. Reveal
the truth about me. Reveal the truth about you. Reveal
the truth. Reveal. Lord, please open up
these mysteries to me. They're hard questions to me,
but there's nothing hard to him. With man, it's impossible, you
say. With man, it's impossible, but not with God. Is anything
too hard for the Lord? Is any case too hard? Is any
person too ignorant? We'll come, we'll find ourselves
exposed, our hearts revealed to us, our ignorance. We come,
you know, most people come, they're religious to start with, and
they come, and you know, they grew up and whatever, and they're
pretty smart, they know a little bit about God. And when God Almighty
begins to open this word to them, they find out, I don't know a
thing about God. I didn't even know God. I ain't
no wrong God. That's what he reveals to her.
They come thinking there's something. They have some things. She brought
some things with her. She's a rich woman. Oh, she has
a lot. She has a lot to offer Solomon. She brought some things
with her, Charles. She brought some things to give
to Solomon. When she got there, she was ashamed. I bet you she was ashamed to
show those things. She thought, wait till he sees
this. Well, he sees what I have to
offer him. You ignorant woman. You have nothing. All that you
have is nothing compared to him. That's what you'll see. That's
what we'll see when we come to see the king of kings. Our poverty,
you see his unsearchable riches. Well, the great king, this great
king spoke to her, opened up his mind, his heart to her, and
in turn opened hers to him. Now, she first heard of him,
didn't she? Verse six says, it was true report
that I heard in my own land of thy acts and thy wisdom. And
she said, I didn't believe it at first. Somebody told me I
heard it. Doesn't the scripture say of
Christ, of the gospel, of God, the truth, the word? Doesn't
it say, have they not all heard? Have they not? Yea, barely. The sound is gone throughout
the ends of the earth. They're all without excuse. Without
excuse. Most people really aren't interested.
That's the problem. As she first heard of him, then
she came to him. And she hears. She heard in a roundabout way
here, there's and she so she she heard the report and she
said, well, something sparked an interest, something someone
sparked an interest in her. So she came to him and then Margaret,
she heard from him. Nobody else. He had a private
audience with her and said, woman, listen to me. My sheep hear my
voice, Christ said. Who's voice? Christ's voice,
the King of kings. He said, all that come unto the
Father by me will hear from me. Nancy, she heard a voice she
never heard. No man spake like this man. He heard of him, and
now she's hearing from him. What was she saying? After she
asked a few questions, I bet her mouth began to shut. Until finally she was sitting
in silence, listening as the King of Kings spake and opened
up And ask questions of her real question. She didn't know need
to ask. And I bet you just her head start
bowing. She became a queen. She ended
up being a subject. She became somebody. She's sitting
there like everybody else. A bunch of nobodies in the presence
of somebody. That's the way it is with every
person who hears of the true God and the true Christ. Every
one of them. Their mouths close. Their heads
bow. Their knees bend. They're in
the presence of a greater than Solomon. And oh, much greater than they
are. We come to him, it says, verse
4, when the queen of Sheba had seen. Now she heard. She had heard of him. She came to him. Now she heard
from him. Now she sees him. She sees him for herself. She said, I heard of you. I had
to come see for myself. And she sees him. What does she
see? Verse four. What does she see?
All Solomon's wisdom. What's the first thing she noticed?
The first thing she had revealed unto her. The first foremost
primary thing that she was, that absolutely held her spellbound. His wisdom. Him. She's going to see all these
things around him, but it was him she first saw. She thought,
well, this man is wisdom itself. Oh, there's a greater than. Solomon was just a man. And our
Lord was a man, but oh, he was more than a man. He wasn't just
a man. He's the God man. He's God incarnate. He is wisdom personified. Wisdom that dwelt with God from
the beginning. Wisdom whose delights it was
to be with the sons of men that inhabit the earth. Cain. And
when we behold him, we'll see him. It says she saw all his
wisdom. Coming to Christ, hearing the
gospel of Christ, we'll see him as wisdom. All wisdom. We'll
see all the wisdom of God in him. You will understand that he is
all, all wisdom, righteousness, name something, sanctification,
redemption, name something, forgiveness, mystery of God's purpose, will,
mind, name something, anything, name something. It all pertains
to Christ, he's all. You come to see him, you'll see
him as all, all treasures of wisdom and knowledge, you'll
find him. You'll see him in him, all the fullness of the Godhead
in the Bible. You'll see in Christ all you
need. She may have come hungry, but
sitting there listening to Solomon, she forgot to eat. She lost her
hunger. She was enwrapped and gross.
She just could sit there all day long and listen to him. He
was feeding her. She was feeding on him, Kelly.
So it is. Most folks can't wait to get
out of the church service to beat the line to the fisherman's
galley, wherever they go. Isn't that right? You kind of hang around. I notice
that. I like that. You hang around after a meal's
over when the food's good, don't you? I've many a time been tempted
to get right back up and serve dessert. You come to Christ, you'll find
him as all and in all, and when you do that, when you see Christ
as all, you will be nothing at all. She saw, and this is what
happened to her, and she saw, it says, the house that he had
built. She saw the house that he had
built. What happened? The temple, or his house, is
abode. The house that he had built,
God's house, his house, none like it. Greatest house. And when we see when we come
to Christ we'll see what he had done. Solomon. She made it sound like he did
it all. Well he did. He had his instruments he had
his means. He did it. He gave the decree. He chose
the people. He set them up. He went and got
the finest of this, and finally did. He did it all, and when
you see Christ, you'll see that this is so great a salvation
that he hath wrought what the Lord hath done. That's what we'll
see. When you come to the true and
living God, you'll see, hey, he did it all, didn't he? He
did it all, and salvation is of the Lord, isn't it? This whole
thing called salvation, this house, this kingdom of God, he
did it, didn't he? what he had built. And we'll
see how anything that he had built will stand. Verse 5, it says, And she saw
the meat of his table. Sometimes if you want to go back
and look at it, 1 Kings 4. Go back there and look at one
day's provision. Listen to this, you'll get a
blessing out of it. One day, the provision for one
day. in the king's house. One day,
she brought some food with her. She brought some food with her. One day, in Solomon's court,
he had nine tons of flour made into bread. I'm not lying here. Nine tons. How many loaves of bread is that?
Ten tons of cornmeal, cornbread, if you like cornbread better
than wheat bread, ten tons. Ten fat oxen, choice oxen, he
had them fatted up, big, big fat cows, ten of them. Ten oxen, one hundred lambs,
one hundred. leg of mutton, and so on. Beside,
it goes on to say, all the deer, the elk, you see everything was
at his disposal. Whatever somebody wanted. What
do you like, peasant? Go get us twelve. Peasant, fish, fruit, what are
the fruit? Fresh fruit? That one's got a
spot, a blemish, throw it out. It shall be perfect except. Fruit
vegetables one day. One day every day. Is there enough food to eat? Why, why was that? Why was his
provisions? Listen to me, listen to me. And
like I said, I preached from this couple of three times or
more, two times here, but other places. And man, this has just
opened up to me. Why was there so much food? Because
verse 5, it says, "...the sitting of his servants." Meaning, there
was a lot of people to feed. He had a lot of servants. This man received everybody that
came. Anybody hungry. Anybody poor. Anybody needy, anybody seeking
wisdom, everybody, whosoever, doesn't matter, male, female,
Gentile, Jew, black, white, doesn't matter, come on. Is there enough? Is there enough? You hungry? You won't be able
to take it in. You won't be able to take it
in. Come on. sitting of his service he looked
up he came into that place where the bank would be in the hall
of the king of pain and she looked. She's so many. Who are always my service. And I said. I bet she thought is there room
for one more. Oh yeah And listen to this. I never thought about this. This
could have happened. This could have happened. Deborah, you're
with me. This could have happened. She
could have saw over there right beside the king's chair. She
saw an old, gray-headed man sitting there. Oh, he looked so old. Looked like he was around when
the king's dad was on the throne. And she noticed, well, you know,
he's lame, isn't he? Who's that? He'd been here a
long time. A king's father, saying he's
going to sit right here forever. His name's Mephibosheth. He's got
the chief's seat. Oh, OK, I'll hear that story
later. Chief of the city of his servants. And look at this, the attendants
of his ministers and their apparel. All those who ministered under
him. Are not all of God's people ministers under him? See, therefore,
we have this ministry. We have this ministry. That's
the first message I preach to this church as pastor. 2 Corinthians
4. See, we have this ministry. It's not my ministry. It's not
such a... It's our ministry. We're ministers of... What do
we minister unto? Who do we minister unto? Our
God, our King, the Lord Jesus Christ. And it says she saw the
attendance of his minister, that is their countenance, the way
they sat there, the way they addressed him, the way they looked,
and the way they dressed. This was no casual affair. Whenever
they were in front of the king of kings, They dressed with dignity
and respect and fearfulness and reverence and they were in the
presence of a great one. And they looked it and they acted
it. And she noticed that. These people are different. Five
people around me all the time act like I'm not even queen at
all. Not Solomon's servants. Are you with me? You understand
this, John? You sure you do. God's people are God-fearing
people. And you'll recognize that. When
you come into the place where Christ is truly preached, where
God is proclaimed as God, as He is, His people that are true
seekers, you'll notice a glaring difference. Glaring difference. Not always foolishness and flippancy
and worldliness and casualness. It's purefulness and dignity
and respect and honor and quietness and stillness and worship. Not
all this stuff. There are people that are different.
They're not of this world. They're not speaking of the world.
And so they don't look like it, act like it, sound like it. And look at, it says she noticed
his cupbearers. These men. his right-hand man. Remember that? Remember, behold
my servant. Right-hand man, the butler. Well,
he had many. How many do you reckon he had?
Twelve. Now, just come up with a number.
Twelve right-hand men. She noticed these men, oh, they're
greater than the greatest men in my country. They're greater
than my husband. These butlers of his, these cupbearers. Cupbearer, what do you suppose
that is? The apostles. And what of the apostles of the
Lord Jesus Christ? What of the prophets of the Lord?
What of the pastors, the true pastors and teachers? That's
what you'll notice, too. You'll notice a glaring difference
in God's men. And men, as it were, in hirelings,
a glaring difference. You notice that they speak like
their master, as them having authority, as the very oracles
of God. Not like the scribes. Not like the scribes. They were
on the payroll. She noticed that. Read on. And it says, and after it was
all over, the thing above all that she noticed. When she finally saw him, she
saw the thing that just reduced her to nothing. She saw his ascent. She saw him After he had an audience
with her and sat her at the table like everybody else, sat her
down. You hungry, Sheba? Yeah, you know, come think of
it, I am a little peckish to come a long way. Well, here,
it's all yours. Eat. Open your mouth. Fill it. Fill her up. She's hungry. Do you be sure to feed her? Solomon
said to one of his cupbearers, You feed my Sheba. And so he walked out of her presence. And Margaret, he ascended some
steps to his throne. He's above all this. His throne
is high and lifted up. And this regal, royal, splendid
magnificent man, the wisest man on earth, began to ascend unto
his lofty rightful place, the throne in God's house, and sat
down in his majesty and glory with his scepter in his hand
and his crown on his head. And she would never say anything
like that. And when we see Christ, folks,
this is it. This is salvation, Dan, isn't
it? This is what happened to you, Dan. You'd heard of Jesus
years ago, you know, and you thought you knew Jesus before
when you came to the Christ Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ of Scripture. And it wasn't until you saw Him
high and lifted up, was it? Until there was nothing left
in you. High and lifted up, when you
see, when we see Him holy, sovereign, reigning, ruling, ascended, the
conqueror, satisfied, seated Savior, King of kings and Lord of lords.
It says in verse 5, there was no more spirit left in her. Well, I'm just a nobody from
nowhere. I don't know anything. I don't have anything. I can't do anything. I'm not
wise. I'm not mighty. I'm not nothing.
The more he is. She went home a broken lady. A broken woman. Now she said,
here's her confession, verses six and five, she said to the
king, she had to say something though, she said to the king,
it's a true report that I heard in my own land of thy acts and
of thy wisdom. I heard all this. It's true,
every bit of it's true. How be it? I believe not. Oh,
I believe not. Solomon, please forgive me for
my unbelief. But I believed not until I came. And my eyes have
seen. I heard of you, but now my eyes
see you. And behold, the half was not
told me. Those who haven't come, they
just don't know, really. They just don't know. Thy wisdom
and prosperity exceeded the fame which I heard. Folks, when we
get the glory, This is why the greatest message ever preached
is going to be like a child's report to us. It really will. Do you ever go
back and dig out your old school papers that you came up with
as a kid? A? B? Wasn't that something? Boy, I'm good, aren't I? No,
you don't. You look back and laugh and scoff
like you're doing now, don't you? So it will be in glory to
see him. Paul is going to be standing
beside Peter saying, we tried to preach him. We tried to declare
him. We didn't tell half of it. Half has not been told. Thy wisdom
and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard. I love this. Oh, happy. Happy are thy men. That is, those you've chosen.
He did all the choosing, Tammy, didn't he? He chose them all,
Ron. Everybody in his court he chose. And they knew it. Everybody in that house knew
who chose who. Didn't they? Thy men you chose. Happy. Oh, they're blessed. Blessed. Happy are these thy servants,
read on, which stand continually before thee, which dwell in thy
house, which behold thy beauty, which hear thy wisdom. Oh, happy
are they, blessed are they. And verse nine, my favorite verse.
Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighteth in thee, to
set thee on the throne of Israel. Jesus Christ is God's well-beloved
Son, whom He hath set on the throne of Israel, spiritual Israel. And it's because the Lord loved
Israel forever, therefore made He the King. I love these people. I have purposed
to save them all. All these mine elect, I love
them dearly. So I'm going to give them somebody. Give Him to them and them to
Him. Him to them to save them. Them to Him to serve Him. I'm
going to give them all my beloved, my elect, my sheep. I'm going
to give them to Christ. The King of kings. My King whom
I set on my holy hill of Zion. Give them to Him. Oh, happy.
God, since God loved us, He made Christ our King. to do judgment and justice. And
it says she gave the king 120 talents. You know, Margaret,
after she, you know, she thought, this is nothing. What can I give
him? But I got to. I got to. She was so grateful. Henry, she
was so grateful just to be there. She thought, I know it's not
much, but I got to give something. She knows she's not contributing
to the national wealth of Solomon. She's not helping him out. Oh,
he needs this much. Oh. Rebecca, she knows that she
Solomon doesn't need one penny from her. He doesn't depend on
her. Solomon didn't say no. If you
don't help out with this ministry, the doors are going to close.
We're going to go off the air. Why did she do it out of gratitude? Out of appreciation, she said,
I'm here, and you had me here freely, and you don't need this,
but I freely received, and I freely give. Here, take it on. I don't need anything else after
I've seen you. She gave it on. Well, did she outgive Solomon? He left her with a little. Verse
thirteen King Solomon. Gave unto the Queen of Sheba
all her desire. Now that's why she came to begin
with. She came to receive wisdom. She got it. Robin, she got it. She got what
she was coming for. And more. She said I bet she thought, you
know, when I go home, I'm not going to be able to tell everybody
everything you told me. Oh, she thought I'd love to remember
everything he said to me so I could tell my friends. And she got
home and she said, John, she got home and said to her husband,
which he said, you know, he. She just couldn't call it. It's
too much to take in. It wasn't for him. But she got all her desire. And
it says that beside that, verse 13, whatsoever she asked, beside
that which Solomon gave her of his
royal bounty. He said, I'm going to leave her
with something. A cupbearer. Go get her. One million rubies. Five thousand
diamonds. That's too much. All the gold
and the silver is not. Go get it. What do you need? You're never going to lack for
anything, he thought. He said, Sheba, you're going
home rich beyond your wildest dreams. You're going to go home
with the riches of Solomon. The exceeding riches. The unsearchable
riches. Now, what do you suppose she
talked about on the way home? What do you suppose her conversation
was all about? On the way there, she was asking
questions like, where can I get his wife? I bet he can't answer that. And
on the way home, she's just talking about him. the way it is. When you really
see Christ, when you see God, Christ, what's your conversation
about? Who is it that you talk about?
She wasn't going home talking about, you ought to see Solomon's
house. That was glorious, but he, him,
him, him, he was her from then on. And she got home and told
all her family about him. Come see a man, she said. You've
got to come see him for yourself. I can't tell you that. You've
got to see him for yourself. And you know what? Anybody that
comes, meet him. And behold, this woman is going
to rise up in the judgment. She can't see a man. A great
man. Just a man. A greater than Solomon. is here. May I be so bold as
to say there are very few messages in Rocky Mountain preached like
this one this morning. That's not pride or presumption, that's
just fact. We need to talk about it, because who it is. Do you
agree with that, Barbara? I heard a message by my pastor,
just picked one out of the box, the Darnell brought a big box
of Met tapes and they had for years and I grabbed them. First. And. I don't listen to myself, but
I listen to others and took them over the house. I'm working and
reached in the box, pulled out an arrow at a venture. Reached out, grabbed one and
stuck it in a tape and it was on six stubborn statements preached
about 40 years ago. And I couldn't hardly work. This
is the greatest thing I've ever heard. Greatest message I've
ever heard. Yes, it is. Nothing like this. Nothing like this being heard. All right. Started to say, Gabe,
come. I got a song picked up somewhere,
Sherry. Verse 13. Hymn number 13. Verse 13 was the last one we
read. Hymn number 13. And you will have to stand on
this. Number 13. Stand with me. Praise you, the
Lord, almighty. Verse 1 and the last mark. Praise ye the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation. O my soul, praise Him, for He
is thy help and salvation. How to His temple draw near,
Join me in glad adoration. Last verse. Praise ye the Lord,
O let all that is in me adore Him. All that hath life and breath you
