Matthew 7, verses 21 and 22. Not everyone saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. But he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me
in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
And in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done
many wonderful works. Now, these are very striking
and sobering verses, very. Not everyone saith unto me, Lord,
Lord. which shall enter the kingdom
of heaven. And this is what everyone talks
about, heaven. This is where everyone talks
about going or at least thinks about at some time. This is what
everyone believes they are pursuing, heaven, eternal life. The Lord
himself says, not everyone that saith, Lord, Lord. Not everyone. Not everyone who
saith, Lord, whatever circumstances, whatever the time, when they
use the Lord's name, when they call on Him in trouble, and many
do, everyone does, when they get in trouble. I thought about
Psalm 107, Psalm 104, those psalms which speak of the children of
Israel. And he said, every time they
got in trouble, they called on the Lord. And they represent, the children
of Israel represent God's people. We're no different than everybody
else, really. We go through great times when
we just don't, we seem dead. And when we get in trouble, we
call on the Lord. And God, who's merciful and gracious,
answers. He answered the children of Israel
every time. Every time they got in trouble, He answered them.
Each time. Because He's merciful and gracious.
He will not forget His people, though they forget Him. He will
not. He cannot forget His people. But they can and do forget Him. And they call on Him in trouble.
And He answers them every time. every time. But now the children
of Israel also represent people in this world who call themselves
believers, who only call on God when they get in trouble. And
if you'll remember, nobody over the age of 20 entered into the
Promised Land. Though they all called on Him
when trouble came, nobody over 20 went into the promised land.
So it represents both us, the believer, and other people. Not everyone to say it, Lord,
Lord, whatever circumstance. People do call on the name of
the Lord. They do use His name, Lord, Lord.
Not everyone to say it, that shall enter the kingdom of heaven.
But now who will? He tells us who will enter the
kingdom of heaven. I'm interested. I'm interested. Who? All right, look at verse
21. This is our subject today. Who will enter into the kingdom
of heaven? He that doeth the will of my Father, which is in
heaven. Who will enter the kingdom of
heaven? He that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. What does that mean? What does
that mean, to do God's will? Well, let's go on. We'll look
at this in a moment. He says in verse 22, Many say to me in
that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and
in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful
And look at verse 23. He says, Then I will profess
unto them, I never knew you. I never was vitally joined to
you. Knew means not be acquainted
with, but to join with. That's Adam knew his wife and
they became one. Knew means love. And he said,
I never knew you. Depart from me, you that work
iniquity. What was wrong with what they
had done? What was wrong with what they
had done? They said, we prophesied in your name, we preached in
your name. What's wrong with that? In the name of Jesus, in
the name of God. What's wrong with that? They said, we preached in your
name. What's wrong with, it says, casting out devils, done many
wonderful works in Jesus' name, in God's name, in the name of
God. What's wrong with that? The name
of the Lord. What's wrong with that? Well, though they used the name, many will say, Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in thy name? Though they used the name, though
they were doing it in the name of God, in the name of Jesus,
yet they were not glorifying Him. They were not doing it for
His glory. They were not doing it truly
in his name or for his name's sake, for his glory. They were
doing it in their own name, for their own glory. Look at it again. They say, verse 22, have we not
prophesied? Have we not in thy name cast
out? Have we not done many wonderful
works? Do you see that? Turn with me
to John chapter 6. John chapter 6. Though many say much about the
Lord in our day, though many say much in Jesus' name, though
the world is full of religion, many who say they are doing things
for God in God's name, yet as our Lord said, they come in their
own name. He said, let a man come in his
own name and him you will receive. It's so obvious to us, isn't
it? So obvious that all these come in, most of these come in
their own name, for their own glory, for their own fame and
fortune. Not seeking God's glory. Look
at John 6, verse 17 and 18, John chapter 6. John 6, let's see, no it's not
John 6. Many say such things about the Lord, and in reality,
they seek their own name, their own fortune, their own glory.
Our Lord said Let a man come in his own name,
in him your father. Our Lord said, how do you know?
How do you know? John chapter 7. All right, that's
it. John 7. I wanted you to look at this.
John 7. All right, look at John 7, verse 17 and 18. John 7, verse 17. If any man
will do God's will. All right, this is what we're
talking about, isn't it? Who will enter the kingdom. He
that doeth God's will. Or if any man will do his will, he'll know the doctrine, whether
it be of God or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh,
verse 18, of himself seeketh his own glory. But he that seeketh
his glory that sent him, the same is true and no unrighteousness
in him. Now, how do you know these people
and these fellows? Well, they seek their own glory.
And all those who will do his will, we're going to look at
that in a moment, what it means. They'll know. They'll know whether
a person has come for the glory of God or for his own glory.
They'll know. They can spot him. That's good
to know. I'm glad. They'll know, though
many say these things. I want you to turn to Revelation
5. Revelation 5. I want you to look at the difference.
Revelation 5. These people. said they've prophesied,
they've preached in Jesus' name, they've cast out devils, they
did many wonderful works in Jesus' name, the name of God. And we need to know, don't we?
We need to know, because so much goes on today in the name of
God, in the name of Jesus, what's true and what's not. We need
to know. He says if any man will do his
will, he'll know. He'll know. whether it's of God or whether
it's not. I heard one of the most obvious false prophets in
our day. If I told you his name, you wouldn't
believe it. But I heard him dealing with
Leviticus 14 right down the line, saying things that I didn't think
they had a clue about. I was shocked. I mean, things that I just didn't
think that they knew. He was right down the line. And I immediately thought of
Saul, King Saul. It says one time he began to
prophesy. And somebody asked, is Saul among
the prophets? No. The Lord just put these things
in his mouth to make him accountable, and those that heard it. That's
the reason. We just read there in Matthew 7, the Lord said,
a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. Cannot. It will not. It's impossible.
You cannot gather grapes from thorns. It's impossible. The
Lord often puts truth in the mouth of a false prophet like
Balaam. If you read everything Balaam
said, You'll agree with it. You'll say, this is good. And
you'll hear fellas sometimes say some good things, and you'll
wonder, like me, how could he say that? Well, I believe that. But it
doesn't mean that it's bringing forth fruit, that their people
are adhering it to their salvation. No, it's their condemnation,
and it's to the condemnation of the man that said it. Like
Balaam. Balaam, the things that came
out of his mouth were from God. But he didn't. It wasn't from
his heart. The Lord destroyed that Balaam.
Well, you'll know. Whoever will do the will of God
will know. You'll know if it's of God, if
it's not. But here's how you know, alright?
Here's the test of all. People and things, whether it
be preachers, people, Those people over there said, Have we not?
Have we not? Have we not? Have we not? And the things they were doing
sounded good. And look at Revelation 5, verses
9 and 10. Now, here are the people in heaven
right now. Here's what they are saying.
Revelation 5, verse 9, And they sung a song, all of them together,
singing the same song, heart worthy to take the book and to
open the seal for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us. Thou hast
redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred and tongue
and people and nation and hast, for thou hast made us unto our
God kings and priests and we shall reign on the earth. So there's a difference. Some
stand and say, have we not? Well, we did this. We did that.
We accepted you as our personal. We made our decision. We quit. We, we, we, we. But now the redeemed,
the true people of God say thou, thou hast, thou hast. All right,
go back to John 6, John 6, which I wrongly told you to turn to. John 6. What is it to do the
will of God? I'm trying to deal faithfully
with each verse. And those people that said, have
we not, they'll not enter the kingdom. But those who are in
the kingdom right now, and those who will enter the kingdom of
God, are those who say, not unto us, not unto us, but unto you
be the glory. Not we, not we. Salvation is
not we. but that. Not our will. They don't dwell on whosoever's
will. They dwell on Him who made us
willing in the day of His power. That's how you know. Or what
is it to do the will of God? He says, Whosoever will do the
will of God shall enter the kingdom of heaven. What is it to do the
will of God? to do the will of God. All right,
John 6, look at verse 38. Our Lord says, I came down from
heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent
me. All right, here's where we begin. Christ said, I came down. Christ
said, he came down from heaven to do the will of God. This is what we're talking about
here. What is it to do the will of God? In Psalm 40, I read,
Psalm 40, this is the prophecy of Christ, verses 7 through 10. It says, Lo, I come. Speaking
of Christ. In the volume of the book, it's
written of me. From Genesis to Malachi. It's in the volume of the book.
to the last is written of Jesus Christ. It tells of him who is
to come. In the volume of the book, it's
written of me. Lo, I come, I delight, he said,
to do thy will, O God. Yea, Christ says, thy law is
within my heart. It was said of Joshua, chapter
one of Joshua, the Lord said of Joshua, who was to take the
people in. They were a bunch of rebels,
a bunch of no-good sinners, a bunch of able, unwilling people who
would not go in if left to themselves. But God raised up Joshua, which
means Savior, which is the Old Testament word for Jesus. And
the Lord said of Joshua there in Joshua 1, he shall lead my
people in. I put my law in his heart, and
he'll dwell on it. But that's not speaking of Joshua. It's speaking of Jesus, the Christ,
the Savior. Call His name Jesus. He shall
save His people. Those bunch of unworthy, ungrateful,
unwilling sinners, He's going to take them in. They won't go
in if left to themselves, but He'll take them in. They won't
do God's will. but He will for them. So in the volume of the book,
it's written of Him. The book is not written to tell
us how to do God's will, but principally it's written to tell
us of Him who did God's will. Christ said, in the volume of
the book it's written of Me, I delight to do Thy will. Oh
my God, I wish I'd have told you to turn there. Maybe somebody
did. Psalm 40, verse 9, Christ said,
I have preached Thy righteousness in the great congregation. I
have not refrained my lips, he said, O Lord, thou know it. I
have not hid thy righteousness within my heart. Christ was righteous
in his heart. He didn't hide it, he lived it.
He did it. I have declared thy faithfulness
and thy salvation, Christ said. I have not concealed thy lovingkindness
and thy truth from the great congregation. Jesus Christ came
to this earth as our great representative, our righteous representative.
Came down here to do, he said, I would like to do thy will.
Who shall enter the kingdom of heaven? He that doeth God's will. Well, Christ came as our representative,
as our substitute, who delighted to do the will of God. As a man,
God was made flesh. And as a man, He did God's will. It's never been done by any man.
Who shall enter the kingdom of heaven? He that doeth God's will. And in Psalm, what is it? Psalm
24 says, Open up the gates. Somebody's coming in. Open up
the gates of heaven. The gates of heaven must swing
wide open to a righteous man, to one who's done God's will.
Who will enter the kingdom of heaven? He that's done God's
will. In Psalm 24, it says, open those gates up. Somebody's coming
in. Well, who is it, he said? The psalmist said, who is this
coming in? Well, it's the king of glory. The righteous one,
the righteous son of God, the son of man, the son of David,
Jesus Christ. Let him in. He's done God's will.
He deserves heaven. How are we going to get in? on
his coattail. All right, who is it that does God's
will? I ain't just preaching a message on Christ's righteousness. But this is our life. What is
to do God's will? It's to believe that Christ did
God's will for you. Many say, Lord, Lord. Many say they believe Jesus.
Many say they believe God. Many say they believe you've
got to be righteous. Many say they believe God's Word. They'll read Romans 10. They'll
read all of them. But, Brother Henry, Paul says they go about
to establish their own righteousness. And it's a subtle thing. People
say they believe Jesus and, oh, yeah, we can't get in. But they
really believe it's something they've done. What is it to do
God's will? And many of you see those zealous...
Paul is writing about his kinsmen, those sincere Jewish people in
Romans 10. And he says, I bear them record,
but have a zeal for God. They seem so sincere. And we see many today. We run
into them. Our Lord looks on the heart with
a... Man believeth unto righteousness, but the heart believeth what
unto righteousness? That Christ is your righteousness.
Who shall enter the kingdom of heaven? He that doeth the will
of God. I don't want to lose you here. What does it mean to
do the will of God? John 6, our Lord said, Now I
came down from heaven not to do mine own will, but the will
of him that sent me. All right? Christ earned heaven. as a man. We can't. We can't
do it. Under the leaves of the law,
no flesh would be justified. It's impossible. With man, it's
impossible. All right, look at verse thirty-nine.
And this is the will, and this is the will, the Father's
will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me,
I should lose nothing. But we should raise it up again
at the last day. Everyone whom God Almighty gave
to Christ to do God's will for them will enter in. Everyone given to Christ in that
covenant will enter in, because he did God's will for them. That's
why they're going in. And this is the will, verse 40. We're talking about doing God's
will. What is it? This is the will
of Him that sent me, that everyone that seeth the Son and believeth
on Him may have everlasting life. I'll raise Him up. He'll enter
the kingdom of heaven. This is the will of God. Whoever
doeth the will of God, what is it to do His wills? To see the
Son and believe on Him. Look over at verse 28 of this
same chapter. people said unto him, unto Christ,
what shall we do that we might work the works of God? We're
trying to get to heaven. That's what they were saying.
That's what they were saying. We're trying to get to heaven.
We're doing the best we can. What shall we do? We want to
know what to do to get to heaven, to do the works of God, the will
of God. Verse 29, Jesus answered and
said unto them, this is the work of God. This is the will of God. This is what you do. Believe
on Him whom He hath sent. Believe on Him whom He hath sent. What is it to do the will of
God? It's to believe that Christ did
the will of God. Am I making myself clear? What
is it to do the will of God? It's to believe that Christ is
your only hope of heaven. That's the first thing. That's
the first step, is to believe that Christ is your only hope
of eternal life. We say, well, that's not doing
anything. That's right. Because it's not you doing anything.
Let no one dare say that they did anything to get to heaven. Well, that's not doing anything.
It's just believing. That's right. And thereby, he
gets all the glory, doesn't he? That glorifies Christ. What is
it to do the will of God? It's to believe on Him whom He
hath sent. It's to worship and believe Christ.
He said, Everyone that seeth the Son believeth on Him. Who's
going to enter heaven? I'll tell you who's going to
enter heaven. I'll tell you who's going to enter heaven. Christ
worshipers. Brother Roy, that's all they're
doing in heaven. You know what? That's all they're doing in heaven,
is worshiping Jesus Christ. That's all they're saying in
heaven, unto Him, unto Him, unto Him. So those that down here
are saying, unto Him, unto Him, unto Him, will be up there to
say it forever. Who's going to enter heaven?
Christ-worshippers. Who's going to enter heaven?
Christ-believers. Up there, they know for a fact,
without a shadow of a doubt, Absolutely, certainly, they know
that the reason they're there is because Jesus Christ did everything
to get them there. They know that. Well, that, it
starts down here. That same faith. Well, that's
reality. But down here, they believe if
they ever get there, it's because Christ got them there. Going
to get them there. Who's going to enter heaven?
Those that really believe that Christ is their hope. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Who's
going to enter heaven? Christ-glorifiers. I mean those
who really, it's the glory of God and Christ
that they seek, not their own. God knows. God, the eye of the
Lord, he says, search the heart, not try the reins. Is there any
self being glorified in that? I know what he says. I know.
We don't know. We look at people and say, well,
he sounds pretty good. He looks pretty good. He looks
sincere. God knows. And that which is
highly esteemed among men, oh, he's a good man, might be an
abomination to God. God knows who's in it for His
glory and who's not. God knows nobody even suspected
Judas. God knows. Not those who just say, Lord,
Lord, but those whose glory in the Lord. You hear me? Not those who just say, Lord,
Lord. Not those who sound good. Like that fellow, who's getting
the glory? Who's really getting the glory
here? There won't be any self-glorifiers in heaven. There won't be any
faith-glorifiers in heaven. There won't be any church-glorifiers
in heaven. There's only Christ-glorifiers
in heaven. Christ-glorifiers. What is it
to do the will of God as the first? Really believe Christ. All right, go back to Matthew
7 again. Matthew 7, verse 24 again says, Matthew
7, verse 24 says this, Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings
of mine, and doeth them. Did I make it perfectly clear? why anybody will ever enter heaven. Did I? That first part? Is there
anybody in here who's unclear as to why any son of Adam will
ever enter God's holy heaven? One hundred percent because of
Jesus Christ. That's it. Even their faith is
a gift from him. And we read there in John 6,
he said, this is the work of God that you believe. It is the
work of God. If anybody believed, God gave
them the faith. God did that work in them to
cause them to believe, or else they'd be like everybody else,
trying to get to heaven on their works. All right? So no flesh can glory. And now our Lord says, Who shall
enter the kingdom of heaven? He that doeth the will of my
God. And we don't do the will of no
one. In verse 24, our Lord says, Whosoever hears these sayings
of mine, and doeth them. Our Lord is actually talking
about doing what God talks with. You know? See, this sermon, this
is the reason this sermon is written to believers. Many people
heard it. It was to his disciples. You
remember, it says his disciples came to him and he said, your
father, so you're the salt of the earth. You're the light of
the world. Your father, your father, your father. But everybody
heard it. A lot of people heard it. They
said they were astonished at his doctrine after they came
down. This was written to God's people. written to God's people. He's
talking to his children. Our Heavenly Father is talking
to his children. Now, James said this. James said,
Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Didn't he? Be ye doers of the word, and
not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. A true child of God, a true child
of God is an obedient child. A true child of God, a true believer,
a true follower of Jesus Christ is one who does what Jesus Christ
says to do. Didn't he say that? He turned
to a bunch of people who were following him one time that seemed
that it said many believed on him. He turned to them and said,
If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed.
If you do what I say. And this whole sermon is A true believer is one who practices
what is preached to him. A true believer, a true child
of God, is one who does what God says to do. Though imperfect, though failing,
though they fail miserably. and ask you about your children. If they're true and loving children,
obedient children, they endeavor to do what you tell them, though
they fail, though imperfect. And so it is with God's people.
What is the will of God? We all want to know that, don't
we? What's God's will for What's God's will for me in this
situation or that situation? We enter into every day, we enter
into situations, decisions to be made, directions to take,
pursuits. We want to be in the will of
God, don't we? A believer, a true believer,
what is it to do God's will? Well, for the most part, in most
situations, believe me, listen to me, we know. No, we don't. How? Why do we say that? Because, listen to this, turn
with me, Jeremiah 31. Don't just listen, look at it.
Jeremiah 31. Jeremiah 31. You see, God Almighty
says about His people that He will write His Word on their
heart. No, no. That's what David quoted. David said, hide thy word in
my heart. It's hidden from most people,
but his people puts it down in their heart. He writes it on
the tables of their heart, God's word, God's essential will. Yes, he does. Jeremiah 31, verse
33. Now, this is this is an important
word here for you and me both. Verse 33, the Lord says, Jeremiah
31, 33, This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house
of Israel. Talking about his people, true Israel. After those
days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward part.
I will write it in their hearts and will be their God. And they
shall be my people and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor
and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord. They shall. know me from the
least of them unto the greatest, saith the Lord. They'll know
me. They'll know I will. I've got it on their, I've written
it on their heart. They know what to do, what not
to do. They know. It's on their heart.
I like this, aren't you glad he wrote this next verse, or
the next line? I know Brother John was still
looking good. And I'll forgive their iniquity. And I'll remember their sin no
more. Even though they know, sometimes, quite often, they
don't do. I forgive them that. But they know. What is God's
will? He says, I wrote it on your heart.
I'll write it on their heart. We shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, he that... I'm preaching the whole counsel
of God this morning. Who's going to enter the kingdom
of heaven? He that trusts Christ alone to get there. He's going to get there. She's
going to get there, no matter how wicked they've been. No matter
what, no matter what, trust Christ, all manner of sin. Who's going
to get there? He that trusts Christ. I mean
really trusts Christ. Who's going to get there? He
that does what Christ says. Now, there are degrees of understanding. There are degrees of knowledge,
like your children. You don't expect out of your
one-year-old children the same things that you do out of your
sixteen-year-old. Do you? No. No. They just don't know. And it's
the same thing in God's house, God's house. They grow in grace
and in knowledge of the Lord. They grow. As they sit under the Word, God reveals
more and more of his good and perfect will to them. Listen to what Paul said. Paul
said in Ephesians 5, he said, Be not unwise, but understanding
what the will of the Lord. Turn to 1 Thessalonians with
me. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. All right? 1 Thessalonians 4. Paul says,
Be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. What is the will of the Lord? What is the will of the Lord?
I want to do the will of the Lord. Don't you? If you're a child of God, you do.
Who's going to heaven? He that does the will of the
Lord. What is the will of the Lord? Well, look at it. I looked
up several places where it actually says, This is the will of God. What is the will of God? This
is the will of God. No doubt about it. We just read
there, John said, This is the will of God which hath sent me,
and of all Christ's came to save and he did. This is the will
of God that they see the Son, believe him, they're going to
get to heaven. This is the will of God. 1 Thessalonians 4 verse 2. Now
you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. This is the will of God. Even
your sanctification. That you should abstain from
fornication. Every one of you should know
how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor. This
is the will of God. And nothing could be more relevant
than this, in this day. And you know what I'm talking
about. In our perverted society, that anything goes. Everything
is acceptable now. It's the norm. Nothing could
be more pertinent or relevant. This is the will of God, even
your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication.
Every one of you should possess his vessel. It's interesting,
when the church at Jerusalem sent a letter to the Gentiles, they told them just a few things,
and one of them was abstain from fornication. This is the will of God, your
sanctification. Sanctification means to be set
apart, set apart for holy use. That's what sanctification is,
set apart by God for him. He talks about virgins, his people
being virgins, that is, reserved for him spiritually. Separated
from that which is unclean. And he says here, every one of
you should know how to possess his or her vessel in sanctification
and honor. God created man and woman, one
man for one woman, and this is holy in God's eyes. The bed is
undefiled as long as it's between a man and his wife, not an unmarried
person. with an unmarried person, premarital,
or extramarital, a man, a man and his wife. And this is what
God Almighty sanctifies and sets apart and is glorified and honored
to him and brings forth fruit, literally, children. And he says
we need to know how to possess our vessel, and especially in
this day where we're bombarded in this day and age, and we live
in the midst of Sodom, we're absolutely bombarded This is
a sex-crazed society that we live in. Everything is geared
toward that, and anything goes. Anything goes. Well, not with
God. We know the will of God. We know,
every one of us. Married, non-married, we've heard
it. Who's going to enter? He that doeth the will of God.
He that does what I say. doing the will of God is possessing
the vessel of sanctification and honor, to God's honor and
to God's glory. That's what brings glory to God.
And Peter said this in 1 Peter 4. Listen as I read 1 Peter 4. Peter said, he said, we should no longer
live the rest of our time. This is what a believer is to
be, is not live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lust
of men, but to the will of God. The time past of our life, he
said, suffice to have brought in us the will of the Gentiles.
He said when we walked in lasciviousness, lust, excess of wine, revelings,
banquets, abominable idolatries, it was a time when that's the
way we lived, not anymore. You see, this thing of discipleship
to Christ is like marriage. When a man marries a woman and
a woman marries a man, they reserve themselves for each other. So
it is with this marriage to Christ, the bride. We do what he says. We follow
him. We want to glorify and honor
him, whatever he says. This is what our Lord said. What
is the will of God? What is the will of God? This
is the will of God. Even your sanctification. Romans 12. One more. Romans 12. Romans chapter
12. What is it to do the will of
God? It's to do what he says. Do what he says. So I don't,
I'm not sure what the, oh yeah, we got it written right here.
That's what a conscience is and that's what The law does in our
heart, convicts us and restrains and so forth. God's Word in the
heart. First, in Romans 12, Paul said
in verse 1, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God.
This is not a law message. This is not a law, you know,
not the whip of the law telling us you don't do this. No, no.
By the mercies of God. He said, I beseech you by the
mercies of God that you present, read on, your bodies. Our Lord said in one place, my
son, give me thine heart. With the heart, man believe.
Give me your heart. That's where salvation starts,
does it not? With the heart, man believe. With the heart,
out of the heart of the issues of life. That's where it all
began. Will you stop there? No, no, no. This man falls in love with a
woman and vice versa in their heart. Love begins in the heart,
does it not? How is it proven? How does it
go on to fruition in the life? He said, present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is a reasonable
service. That's what Christ did. Did he
not present his body an actual sacrifice? Yes, he did. Read on. Be not
conformed to this world, be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind. What will renew the mind? God's
Word. That you may prove, that you
may show forth, that you may, for the glory of God in your
own mind and heart, know for a fact what is that good. Everything God says is good,
is it not? Everything He tells us is good.
He said, My commandments are not grievous. Oh, they're grievous
to the old man. He doesn't like it all. He loves
sin. They're bad for him. Good. He needs to be killed. But for
the new man, it's good. It's holy. It's just right. Everything
He says is good and acceptable, even to man. Who is he that will
harm you if you be followers of that which is good? Even the
world out there knows that's the right thing to do. Read on. That you may prove what
is that good and acceptable and perfect, perfecting, maturing,
Christ-molding will. Was anybody with me this morning? What is it? Who shall enter the
kingdom of heaven? He that doth the will of God.
He that doeth, doeth, doeth the will of God. Oh, the one you
can't do. He that doeth. What is to do the will of God?
To believe Christ. What is it to do the will of
God? It's to do. what he says to them. He says, let no man deceive you,
brethren, in another day. Because of all these things say, fornication of adulteries and
revelings and drunkenness and all that, cometh the wrath of
God on the children of disobedient. But such were some of you, were
some, but Now, your wife, you know, do what you know to do.
You don't want nobody to accuse me of being a Lantanomian kid. I want to do the will of God.
He said it's good, it's good, it's perfect. Perfect, and I
want to be like Christ. Let me ask this question in closing.
What happens when a child of God walks contrary to God's will? What happens when a child of
God knows to do the will of God, and he doesn't do it? And they do. No. Hebrews 12 says, Whom the Lord
loveth, he chastened them. If you be without it, you're
bastards. Whom the Lord loveth, he chastened
He said, no, chasing is pleasant. It's a chasing and you know you're
getting it. My dad, my dad chasing me. I mean he chasing me. I knew I was getting the chasing. Chasing is not punishment in
the strict sense of the word. It's correction. When you know
what you've done, and when you know you're getting a chastening
for it, you know, I don't want to do that again. You know he's doing it because
he loves you. You don't chasten other people's
children. I know you'd like to, but you don't. You chasten your
own. So it is with the Lord. And we don't know, the Lord's
chastening, we don't know what the Lord will use on us. We don't know. The Lord knows
his children. He deals with us individually. What may be chastening for you
is not for me. What's chastening for me is not
for you. He knows according to his wisdom
and his will for each one of his children. But he will. So who will enter
the kingdom of heaven? He that doeth the will of God.
and trust Christ, and you'll be there. He looked to
Christ a hundred percent. And it naturally follows, really
it does, because this is the gift of God. Everybody that looks
to Christ, that's of God. It's the work of God. And everyone
that looks to Christ truly, who desires to win Christ and be
found in will have this desire to do what
he said that their disciples they love Christ there is right
and they want to be faithful to him and do what he says to
do like a faithful dog though they run astray though they fall
they will do his will he will do his will his people will all
right brother John you got a hand picked out Let's stand as we sing, 359. Let's sing the first and last
verse, 359. My faithful servant to Thee,
thou lamb of Calvary, Savior divine. Now hear me when I pray,
take all my sin away. O let me from this place dream
holy dreams. When then Christ's passion free,
When then hope's solemn stream Shall o'er me flow, Savior, then in love, fear, and
distrust renew, O may He take the hope from man's heart. so so Oh my God.
