All right. Thank you, Sherry. That's a much better hymn than
God Bless America, but I don't think somebody's going to be
a scholar for that. But part of that was to come
from Isaiah 63. It was just to come from Bosworth's
sermon, from Enoch's sermon besides Bosworth walking through the
wine grits of God's wrath. All right, back to 1 John chapter
5. The title of this message is
is overcoming the world. Overcoming the world. Let's read verses 4 and 5 together. 1 John 5, verses 4 and 5. Whatsoever is born of God overcometh
the world. And this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh
the world? But he that believeth that Jesus
is the Son of God. The Apostle John mentions the
world twenty-two times in this book. He has much to say about
the world. Now, the world knows only one
verse. John 3, 16. God so loved the world. That's
about the only verse that the world knows. John says it twenty-two
times, and not one time is it anything good. Not one time. Every mention,
things like this, talks about the sins of the world, says love
not the world, All that's in the world is not of the Father.
The world knows it does not, he said. Marble Mountain brethren,
it's the world that hates you. All its prophets, Antichrist,
are in the world. Satan is in the world. The world lies in wickedness. to the third or last person,
so there's nothing good to say when he talks about the world. And thus the need, or this is
why John says we need to overcome the world. Are you with me? That's why he's talking about
overcoming the world. The world is not A nice place,
a good place, full of nice people whom God loves. No, no. This is why he says we need to
overcome the world. All right? Are you with me? And not be overcome
by himself. Now, you ought to be interested
in this. I am. We're in the world. This
is what our Lord said. And John 17, and other places. He himself also didn't say good
things about this world. But he said of his disciples,
they are not of the world. He says, I don't pray that God
should take them out of the world yet, but keep them from it. And another place to remember,
he said, I'm not praying for the world. All right, so he says we need
to overcome the world, and this is the fact, not be overcome
by it. All right, now go back to chapter
two. Back to chapter two. I want to paint a picture of
this world, of Christ. The world, there's very little
good in this world, very little right about this world. The only
thing good in this world is God's people and God's Word. The only
thing right in this world comes from God's Word and God's truth. And in those, that truth is Him. Chapter 2, look at verses 15
through 17. Love not the world, neither the
things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the
love of his Father is not in him. Very few people know that
verse in Scripture. If you compare that with John
3, 16, you confuse people. Love not the work. Well, God
so loved the work, but He said that any man who loves the world
loves the Father not in him. The world must mean something
more than just every single human being. Verse 16, all that is
in the world. Now he describes what's in the
world. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride
of life. It's not of the father, it's
of the world. And the world passes away. The lust there, everything
in it, passes away. He mentions these three things,
the lust of the flesh, that's physical uncleanness. This world, as you know, very
plainly, is obsessed with sex. Everything you see, and everything
you come in contact with, Newspaper, radio, TV, whatever it is, magazine,
you see, clearly, billboards, it's just, it's absolutely obscenity. Lust of the flesh, uncleanness.
All manner of lewdness and uncleanness and even perversions are being
encouraged now and flaunted. It's world. Lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes, he talks about. The lust of the eyes now
is covetousness. It's what your eyes see. It's
whatever your eyes see, not just sexual lust, but lust at the
thing, covetousness. I want this, I want that, power,
greed, whatever it may be, you know, lust of the eyes, covetousness,
quest for riches, the quest for possessions. It's what life is
all about to this woman, right? That's what life is all about. You know, most of the world,
I read you that statistic that said if you have money in the
bank, if you have some spare money in your wallet and a little
spare change and a dish, do you remember that? You're in the
top 8% of the rich in the world. Did that shock you when you read
it? I read that quote two or three
times before I printed it. So in other words, the vast majority
of this world is dirt poor. And that's true. I've been there. If you've ever been out of this
country, you've seen how the vast majority of the world is
non-American. And I couldn't help but think,
if you look through the average magazine, in this country. All you see is riches and wealth
and beauty and all that. It's no wonder the world hates
this country. We flaunt it. This country flaunts its wealth.
If you look at the average magazine, you'll see this white couple,
you know, in their retirement years, and they're on their yacht
somewhere, and, you know, they've just invested with the F-10,
and now things are just wonderful. So wonder the world hates this
country. Blessed with the eyes and The pride of life, he talks about
the pride of life, all that's in the world, the pride of life.
Now, pride takes all forms. Even the dirt poor should be
proud. Pride takes many forms. My father and I were talking
about four forms of pride. Pride of race, and this is what
everybody kills one another over. I'm black and you're white, I
hate you, or I'm white and you're black, or I'm Arab, you're Jew,
I'm this, I'm that, you're not, I hate you, we're better than
you. Pride of race, pride of face, I'm bigger than you. I'm taller than you, I'm bigger
than you, stronger than you. Pride of place, Now, I've reached
this level. I'm proud of worship, I'm proud
of grace. But this world is full of pride.
Full of pride. For the believer now, there's
no room for pride. There's no room for pride in
the believer anymore. Because the believer knows that
everything we have was given to us. What do you have that you have
not received? Now, if you've received it, he said, why do
you glory if you have not received it? No sir, a believer has no
room for pride anywhere in a believer, anywhere. So, if we just open our eyes
to this world, we'll see all of this. Very clear, this world
is full of lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride. Pride. You'll see, like John
said, our whole world lies in this wickedness. And especially
this nation. This is the king. This is the
kingpin of this world. This nation, this is it. This is Rome, folks. This is
the center of the world now. This is Babylon. This is Rome. You know? And if you go from
east to west, I thought, how interesting. From East to West, North to South,
the major cities in this country, East, D.C., Washington, D.C.,
I've been there. It looks like Rome. Doesn't it? Anybody been to Washington, D.C.? It looks just like ancient Rome. From D.C. to Hollywood, Los Angeles,
California. Perverted. From New York City
to Miami, Florida. At all points in between, rolling
up Virginia. Little old Rocky Mountain. Who
would have thought it? Them Bible belts. Remember when
we put an article in the paper? Just calling homosexuality what
it is? Just quoting God's word? And
boy, the first clue did it. Can you sit alone, mate? Just sit alone and count it?
Surely not, everybody's good farmers. You know what I thought
about this? When you turn on the light, if
you go in your basement, go in a dark place, sometimes, when
it's dark, and just turn on the light, and there'll be bugs everywhere. If you turn on a little light,
you'll see there's lots of bugs there. And they'll start scaring
them. This world is full of them. This
world is crawling. And that's why God's gonna be
done with it. Worst thing of all, look at chapter
2, verse 18. This is the worst thing of all
about this world, though. He says, little children, it's
the last time, as you've heard, that Antichrist shall come, even
now there are many Antichrists. Look at chapter 4. Chapter 4. Look at verse 1. Many false prophets have gone
out into the world. Verse 3. The last part of verse
3. This is that spirit of Antichrist.
Wherever you heard it should come even now it's already in
the Word. Spirit of Antichrist. Alright,
now what is it? It's a guy with six sticks and
he's got a horn and he's got a big thing on his head and he's
trying to get everybody to follow him. No sir. No sir. Forget all that. Alright? Forget all that. Antichrist. John just said that,
didn't he? Even now. That was 2,000 years
ago. He said even now there are many
antichrists. Antichrist, he said, is a spirit
of antichrist. Not one person, per se. But it's
a prevailing spirit of antichrist. And there are many antichrists. All right, now listen, just as
God put man into this world, He put man in this world, He
put the man's tradition in this world. Didn't He? Satan, didn't He? Confine Satan
in this world? According to this verse. All
right, man multiplied, didn't He? It's interesting, it was
a man and a woman and one devil. Man multiplied and so did Satan
and his ministry. Satan is called the God of this
world. That's what our Lord called Satan, the God, small g, of this
world. That means that the world is
influenced by him. The world is, according to God's
purpose, under his influence. Remember when the Lord was tempted
by Satan, and Satan said, All these things are given unto me,
I will give them to you. He just bowed down to the Lord.
He just worshipped him as, forget God. The world speaks and talks
and acts by their leader. This is it. What was it that
Satan did when God cast him out of heaven? This is in Isaiah
4.10. Isaiah 14, Lucifer was his name. He was one of the angels. And it said he was cast out of
heaven into this earth. What was it that he said? I will. He kept saying, I will be like
God. I will, I will. He didn't say,
thy will can be done, not God's will. He said, my will. What's
the word I'm about to talk about? God's will? Oh, God's not willing. Oh, you constantly say, God's
unwilling. God didn't want that to happen.
God's unwilling. No, no, no, no. God's not working
all the things after His will. We have free will. High will. Isn't that what Satan tempted
the man and the woman in the garden with? Huh? You'll know
if you eat. Question God's Word. Isn't that
what the world does? Question God's Word. Never check God's Word. Never
rebel against God's authority. God knows that you'll be like
Him if you eat that fruit. And if you eat that fruit, you'll
be like God. You won't be like God, no. Go ahead and eat that
fruit. Who's God? Him. He is. Withhold
that fruit. Have your way. You have a way.
Excellent. Lovers of self. Antichrist. Now, listen very
carefully. Antichrist, when you're anti-something,
that means you're against it. Right? Our Lord said, He that
is not with me is against me. Anything or anyone that is not
with Christ, for Christ, pointing to Christ, of Christ, is antichrist. Let me say that again. Antichrist
means against Christ. Anything or anyone that is not
completely 100% with Christ, that is, in His Word, according
to His Word, according to what He says, according to what He
does, for Christ, for His glory, and pointing to Christ, all is
anti-Christ. Right? Our Lord said, He is not
with me, He is against me. He that gathers not with us scatters,
an anti-Christ. So it's much more than, and it's
more widespread than just the devil worshipers. Now it goes
without saying, alright, because you hear that definition of anti-Christ. It goes without saying that every
other religion on this planet, other than the followers of Jesus
Christ, is anti-Christ. Is that not right? You won't find very many religious
leaders, Christian fellows, that say that. And wouldn't dare say, Henry,
wouldn't dare say Islam is anti-Christ. Now I wrote a book years ago,
Solomon Rushdie, what does he say, wrote a book concerning
the Islamic scriptures, the Koran, and called it the Satanic Verses. You remember that? He had to
go and hide it for about five years. Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, is
false religion and it's anti-Christ. I hope I had the courage to say
that to the President when I was just sitting behind the close
of him. But now wait a minute, Satan's
not doing his work there. They don't go there to believe
in Christ, that's obvious. He does his work in Christianity.
Stay with me, all right? There's much Antichrist in the
name of Christ. Isn't that what Christ said?
Many will come in my name and say that I am the Christ. I'm building up to this time.
You've overcome this world, the world of Antichrist. All right? John told us, he warned us of
the Antichrist. There were many back then, 2,000
years different. There's more now. Paul warned
and said there's another Jesus. Even just a few years after our
Lord went back to glory, there would come another Jesus. They
were talking about Jesus, but it wasn't the Jesus Christ. They had him all wrong, and they
were deluding people into believing in this false
Judaism. He said, there's another gospel. That was 2,000 years
ago there. There's another gospel. There
were many more around talking about gospel, gospel, gospel,
gospel. The policy is not the gospel. It's not my gospel policy.
It's not our gospel policy. If it's not the gospel, it's
anti-Christ. Now, it's not easily recognized.
Adam and Eve didn't recognize the subject of Satan, did they?
They were smarter than us. Not easily recognized, but it
is easily swallowed. That sounds good. Our Lord said, if it were possible,
it would be seen the very end of it. If it were possible. All right,
look back at chapter four now. Chapter four. Look at verses
one through three. All right, it says, Beloved,
believe not every spirit. Boy, that's a bunch of them.
Let's talk about preaching. Cause and spirit, because they've
got one spirit or another, one kind of spirit or another, be
it clean or unclean. You see, the whole leader is
demonic, right? That's the reason they cause
and spirit. Believe not every spirit. And you remember how Paul in
Philippians 3 said, beware of dogs, beware of the concision. He's talking about these Jewish
fellows, Pharisees. Beware of their dogs. Try the spirits, verse 1. Try
them. Put them to the test. Isn't it
amazing how this world falls for all these fellows. It's absolutely
amazing. Doesn't it amaze you how this
world falls for all these fellows, no matter how obviously crooked
they are? We shake our heads no longer,
but by the grace of God we would today. Try them, whether they are of
God. Many false prophets have gone
out in the world. All right, verse 2 and 3. Here's
how you know it's truthful and false. Here's how you know when
the Holy Spirit of God sends a preacher. All right, verse
2. Every spirit, hereby I know thee the Spirit of God, the Holy
Spirit of God. A lot of talk about the Spirit
of God. Every spirit, that is, smallest, every preacher that
confesses that Jesus Christ has come into flesh is of God. Every spirit that confesses not
that Jesus Christ has come into flesh is not of God. This is
that spirit of antichrist that you've heard, it should come,
it's already in work. Everybody back then believed
that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. It wasn't anybody that didn't
believe that. Was it? Is there a preacher on earth
that doesn't get real emotional enough and excited about Christmas?
Or even the resurrection of Easter? I've had since. So many people
come to me about Christmas time or Easter and they always say
to me, well, but you're really busy this time of year. Thinking that, you know, Easter
and Christmas, boy, we just get busy with plays and all this
sort of thing, you know. No, I try to be just about, I
try to just sleep through it. I'd like to just sleep right
on through it. When I'm not busy at all, I take
my vacations. We knock off at Christmas. What do you mean by come in the
flesh of Jesus Christ the Son of Man? What do you mean by that?
Everybody believes in one name, Jesus. All right, when you come
in the flesh, I was going to illustrate this, but I can do
it without illustration. I don't want to be dramatic. When I came into this room, you
saw me come in this room. Okay. Those that were late. Anyway. I came from somewhere
to somewhere. Right? When you come, that means
you were somewhere before you got there. Right? That means you were before
you came. That you existed. That you were
somewhere before you came to where you came to. All right? Now listen very carefully. Our Lord was somewhere before he came here, and he was
someone before he became flesh. He still isn't. He didn't believe
that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. The largest denomination
is so-called Christianity. You know what that is? Catholicism, you know. They worship and pray to
and believe that they're saved by the mother of Jesus. They do and say many good things
about Jesus. And notice all the statues and
things that they have will be of some dead Jesus or a baby
Jesus. Or one lying in his mother's
arms or something like that. They do and say many good things
about Jesus. They love the precious baby and
they love the good man, but Paul said in Romans 1, this is what
Paul meant when he said they worship the creature rather than
the Creator. You see, Jesus Christ made Mary. She didn't make him. She had
nothing to do with him before. That's shocking. Christ didn't go to Caesar, man.
That means Mary's egg wasn't mixed in on there. She was a borrowed womb. Just like our Lord borrowed that
tomb to be buried in, He borrowed a woman's womb to be born from. Had to be born a woman. He had
to be flesh, but Mary did not give him life. He gave Mary life. The child was the father of the
mother. The child was the father of the
mother. Let me illustrate this. Our Lord, this is what our Lord
did. One time Mary, Mary came to Christ. This was in the very beginning
of his public ministry when he was 30 years old. Mary came in
the end, and she started acting like his mother. And she said to him, she didn't
ask him, she gave him a command. She said, they need some wine. They're out of wine now. Do you
remember his reply to her? He didn't call her mom. He never
once called her mother. He said, Woman, what have I to
do with thee? I don't take orders from you. You are not my mother. That's what he said to her. He
said that. And we're going to get to it in Mark chapter 3.
One time he was preaching. And again Mary comes. She's standing outside. But she was standing outside
and said, go tell my son that I'm about to speak to him. And they came in and said, your
mother is outside and she wants to talk to you. He said, who
is my mother? I don't have a mother. Now, the boy, the Jesus, the
body, the flesh, the man, had a mother that, as our representative,
to fulfill the law perfectly, in obeying his father and his
mother, he submitted himself to a man named Joseph, who was
not his father, and submitted to a woman named Mary, who was
not his mother. In order to fulfill the law perfectly,
as a man, he submitted to and respected his earthly father
and mother. But he had no father or mother. He was a very god, a very god. A child is born, yes, but the
Son, the eternal Son of God, came here. and thou shalt call his name
the mighty God of the everlasting life." True worshipers don't worship
a womb or a tomb, don't worship the cross or the church. Christians
worship only the Christ. All right, so that does away
with that big denomination there. Everybody in it. Christ. That's Antichrist. Now you've
overcome this. You see that. It doesn't shock
me when I say that. But now wait a minute. Let's
keep on going. I've got to hurry. This spirit
of Antichrist pervades so-called mainstream Protestant Christianity.
All those who talk mostly of a man named Jesus. All of you say that He's in your
hands. That's no different than Catholicism
that has its baby in the arms of Mary. No different. That's anti-Christ. He's not
a man right now. He's not a baby. He's not hanging
on a cross for us. He's sitting on a throne of glory.
And He's got us in His hands. And anybody that's talking about
a Jesus that's in our hands, dude, that's anti-Christ. That's
his problem. Anyone who talks more about the
miracles than our Lord, than the majesty of our Lord, who
talks more about the man than the master, who talks about the
sign more than the sign, who talks about man's works rather
than Christ's works, who talks about man's righteousness rather
than Christ's righteousness, who talks about man's faith rather
than Christ's blood, is anti-Christ. Well, that takes in a whole lot
of religion, doesn't it? And most of the preachers. Now, Jesus has done all he can
do. That's kind of right, right? But the
man that stands up and says, Oh yes, he's done all that can
be done. He is all. Salvation is of the
Lord. Oh yes, he has. He's all within
all. And all things are in his hands.
All things are of him, through him, to him, for him, because
he created all things, by him all things are dead, and all
things are in his will to do with as he pleases. And he worketh
all things according to his will. Now the preacher says that. Because
he buried God and buried God, and he came to this earth and
became a man just to die. Just to die. And he did that,
and he said, it's finished, the work's finished, and he went
back to where he was when he came, before he came, to the
throne of the Lord, the majesty on high, and sat down, very God
of very God, and he's working all things according to his sovereign
will and purpose. Jesus Christ came. He came, he
worked, he finished, he went back, he sat down again. Anything other than that, anything
less than that, is anti-Christ. Verse 5, 1 John 4 says, Now there
is a world, there is what is seen of the world, and the world
hears of it. I speak of the world, the world's
opinion, popular opinion, social issues, kingdom of the world,
religion of the world, everybody's excited about Israel. They're of the world, and I speak
of the world. Our Lord said, My kingdom is not of this world.
Isn't it? Our Lord said, My kingdom is
not of this world. They're of the world, they speak of this
world, and the world hears them. But now he said, we are of God,
verse 6, and he that knoweth God hears us. He that is not
of God won't hear us. Well, tolerate this. You're too
narrow. Our Lord's the one that talked
about narrow. Our Lord's the one that said
narrow. Our Lord said the whole world, and He's the one that
said the whole world about narrow. He's the one that said, draw
this rope, and you needn't leave it. Amen. Straighten this gate,
narrow this way, and through there lead you finally. He's
the one that said, many are called to be changed. He's the one that
said these things. All right, what does it mean
to overcome the Word of God? I've just got about seven or eight
minutes. Chapter 5, Version 1 says, Whosoever believeth that Jesus
is the Christ is born of God. Verse 4 says, Whatsoever is born
of God overcomes the world. Born of God. And he said this
is the truth of life, the disease that overcomes it. You need to
believe it. Faith. Faith. This is the victory that
overcomes the world. Faith. This is the victory that
overcomes this wicked world. That overcomes his religious
world, his anti-Christ world. This is it. Alright? Now let
me ask you then. Overcoming the world. Let me
ask you this question. Do you believe that Jesus of Nazareth
is Christ? What does that mean? He's Christ. That means he's prophet, priest,
and king. That's the Christ. That's the
qualification of the Christ. Every old Jew knew that. You're
going to meet a prophet, priest, and king. That prophet perverted. When he comes, there are no more
prophets. There are no more prophets. Do you believe there's nothing
else that needs to be said, could be said, Obviously, what Christ
has already said, this is his word, he's fulfilled it all. Everything else, any addition
is false, error. He's that prophet. He did come,
he did tell us all things today. He's Christ. Prophet, priest. You gotta have a priest, a priest
to worship God. There are no more priests. Because
Christ is our great high praise Lord. We don't confess our sins
to a man. Uh uh. We confess them to our
great high praise. No man intercedes between God
and us. No man goes to God for us. Christ
did that. Do you believe that? You don't
pray to John or Mary or whoever. You don't pray to anybody but
Jesus Christ. Prophet, priest, king. He's the
king. Huh? He's the king. He's the stopper. He's the guy.
Alright, do you believe that? Alright, do you believe? Here's
what you need to believe Jesus is the Christ. Do you believe
He's Lord? Now, you don't believe He's Savior
before you believe He's Lord. Antichrist says, now, you need
a Savior, yeah, but later on you make Him Lord. No sir. Every time those names are together,
it's Lord and Savior. He's your Lord first. You bow
to Him first, whether or not you know He's Savior or not.
Lord, Savior, do you believe He's the only hope of you entering
Heaven? Do you believe He's the only
hope of you being accepted by God Almighty? There's nothing
you can't do. Do you believe that? That he's
your all-knowing, Lord and Savior. Do you believe that? Do you believe
he's your wisdom? But you just reject everything
hands down. Whatever the world is saying,
it's contrary to what Christ said. It's false. It's error.
Do you believe Christ is wisdom? Hmm? Do you see in him your wisdom
about righteousness? Do you believe that your best
religion that you can drum up is still full of holes? Still
not good enough? Do you believe that the best
prayer you can pray, the best worship of whatever is still
full of sin, do you believe that? Is Christ your righteousness? How about sanctification? Do
you believe that if you quit everything that could be quit,
you'd be holy? Huh? You believe you quit everything?
Cause you could quit. That you'd be holy? You believe that? You did everything
you wanted to do. Cause it looks and sounds and
seems holy. That you'd be holy? No sir. You know that. You know your
heart. You believe Christ is your right? Sanctification. Do you believe that Christ is
why God accepts you, why you're set apart from the world, because
you're in Christ? Not because of you, but because
you're stoned, like John said, coming out of the sea. Do you believe that Jesus
is Christ, is born of God, and the world doesn't believe any
of that? He says, you've overcome the world. Overcome the world's
sin, all right? Sin shall not have men. Paul was a preacher. It's in
me all the time. That's what David said. That's
exactly what David said. David said, my lungs are filled
with this loathsome disease. He said, my sin has never before
met. Well, you know, Paul said that too. Paul said, Paul. He
said, I don't do what I want to do. I can't do what I want
to do. I don't want to do what I don't
want to do. I want to do what I don't want
to do. What's wrong with me? You don't
tell me to say the same thing. Why am I a fisherman? You know, Daniel said, I have
no fear. John said, I hate myself. Pretty
good company, isn't it? Huh? Well, our Lord says, Stench
shall not have dominion over you. When you leave this place
tonight, you're going to go and lie in a gutter somewhere. Maybe you're going to go sit
on a bar stool until 2 a.m. Hmm? You going to do that? You're
going to go chase women, baby. Or you women chase men. What
you gonna do? He used to do it. Didn't say
a thing about it. Sin shall not have dimension
over you. Who's controlling you down there?
Why aren't you going the line of good? And he don't want to
go the line of good. Why? Not only sin, sin shall
not have an end. Our Lord said that. And not only that,
sin has no penalty. There's no penalty to sin. We've
overcome it. This world is sin. The world
is going to be punished for sin. The believer is not going to
be punished for sin. Therefore, now, now, no condemnation,
and then there is Christ. Sin. There is no sin on the believer
in Christ. Why not? He's a believer, but
he's a Christ over covenant. And you're not deluded by the
spirit of this world. You're not deluded by the spirit
of this world. Satan can't fool you. He can't fool you. That's what
John said about it. You're a God. You've overcome
things. And he said back in chapter 2 to the young men, you've overcome
the wicked ones. Young me, or the young me. Everybody gets older. How old
am I still? Not you, Sam. I was there with
them, wasn't you? You don't believe this stuff
is going past the top of the gospel, do you? You don't believe
this stuff. Well, there's smart fellows in
the United States, fellows with They didn't go to Virginia Western.
Instead, they went to Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Cambridge, Oxford,
and all that. They absolutely believed anything
that came down the pike. People were coming down. You don't listen to these folks,
do you? Why not? Because Greg received the same
news, and he said it all. Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, through
this right here, through the Spirit, such as me, preaching
the truth. You can spot those cells mile
away. Right? Some of them aren't so
easy to spot. You can spot them a block away.
Some of them you've got to wait until they get right up close
to you, then you smell them. Self-practice. Or you don't smell
that sweet savor of Christ. It's not going to matter if you
just, you hear it, you see it, and you say, something here I'm
missing, something missing here. Christ is missing. They're not pointing me to Christ.
They're pointing me to this sound. It all looks good, sounds good
and all that, but if it's not Christ, he's anti-Christ. He won't come to me. Right? You're not following the course
of this world. Who's going to run home tonight and hang on
what the news is? Who's going to run home tonight
and turn on the TV and just, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, The older you get, the more meticulous this
world is becoming, isn't it, in so-called opinions of why
to be in this world? Faith, all right? Faith, they say, this is... That's
an old fellow of the world. He's our faith. How do you get
faith? Where does faith come from? Well, the world... Why does the
world think like a world? because they speak about the
world. It's all about the world. If you go home tonight and every
night and listen to the news, you'll start thinking like the
world. If you listen to everything going
on around you, and that's all you listen to, you'll speak just
like the world. But faith comes. by hearing,
and hearing by the Word of God. And so, you want your faith to
grow, and you want this world, you want to effectively put your
fingers in your ear, so that you don't hear anything being
said anymore? Wouldn't you like to do that?
Just shut it off. Wouldn't you like to do that? You've got hearing
now, you can do that. My dad wouldn't hear it, because
he did it like my dad does. At night time he'll, right before
he goes to bed, he says to my mother, now is there anything
more you need to study? Before I take these out and take
them out. No more noise. The world is just
noise. It's full of it. And the world is alarmed by everything
that's been said and done on earth. Isn't that just what you think?
Put this over your ears. Faith comes by hearing, hearing
by the word of God. This will overcome the noise,
the clamor, the opinions, and all this of the world. Though
the whole world believes something, if this is written on your heart,
and God applies it to your understanding, It doesn't matter to everybody
what you believe in. You're not going to follow it,
and you're not going to get saved. Who's he that overcomes the world? He doesn't believe in faith.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word. So, take every opportunity
to hear it preached, read it, and be with those who believe
it. is those who believe it. And
you'll overcome this world. If not, you'll be able to come
back. All right. I hope that was of
some help to you. Stand with me. Our Father, thank You for Your
Word. Thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You for Your truth. Your sovereign salvation, revealing
Christ in your people. Thank you. Ever keep us looking
to Him, Him alone. Let us not be overcome by anything
or anyone. Let us be followers of the Lamb,
called and chosen in the faith, followers of Christ. In Christ's
name we pray. Amen. Thank you very much.
