How do we know Christ's righteousness is the ground of our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's righteousness, imputed to believers, is the only basis for their justification before God.

The assurance of salvation rests entirely on Christ's righteousness rather than human merit. The doctrine of imputation asserts that Christ's perfect obedience to the law is credited to believers, as highlighted in 2 Corinthians 5:21, where it states, 'He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' Furthermore, Romans 8:33-34 emphasizes that it is God who justifies, which confirms that no one can condemn those whom Christ died for. His finished work establishes a righteousness that meets the demands of justice whilst allowing God to express His love freely to His people. Because of this, believers stand justified, absolved of their sins through Christ’s atoning sacrifice.
