How do we know the Sabbath is no longer a literal day?

Answered in 1 source

The New Testament indicates that the old Sabbath laws have been fulfilled in Christ, establishing a spiritual Sabbath instead of a physical one.

In the New Testament, the Sabbath's significance as a day of rest is transformed with the resurrection of Christ. As it states in Colossians 2:16-17, the Jewish Sabbath, along with other ceremonial laws, was a shadow of things to come, with Christ being the substance. Additionally, passages like Hebrews 4 assert that believers enter into God's rest through faith, not by adhering to a specific day. The New Testament reveals that the old carnal ordinances, including the seventh-day Sabbath, are no longer required, as they were fulfilled by Christ's perfect work of redemption, allowing believers to keep a Sabbath of faith.
