How does salvation work in sovereign grace theology?

Answered in 1 source

In sovereign grace theology, salvation is entirely the work of God, not based on human effort.

Sovereign grace theology posits that salvation is an act of God's unmerited grace, relying solely on His will and purpose. According to Romans 8:30, God predestined a people for salvation before the foundation of the world. This selection is strictly of grace and is not contingent upon human actions or merits. The redemption accomplished by Christ on the cross was for those whom the Father chose, and it is through the work of the Holy Spirit that the elect are drawn to faith in Christ. Therefore, salvation not only includes justification but also sanctification and glorification, emphasizing that every aspect is a result of God's sovereign plan.
