What does the Bible say about the law being replaced?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Jesus fulfilled the law, which allows it to be set aside in light of the new covenant of grace.

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus clearly states that he did not come to abolish the law or the prophets but to fulfill them. The law served its purpose and was a covenant between God and His people. Once the law was fulfilled through Christ's perfect obedience and sacrificial death, it could be set aside. This does not imply any fault with the law itself, as it remains just, holy, and good, but rather highlights a transition to grace as demonstrated through the gospel. By fulfilling the law completely, Jesus established a new covenant in which forgiveness is granted based on His righteousness rather than human adherence to the law's demands.
