You know, every time you think
of her. Let's take our Bibles and turn
to Revelation 21. Revelation 21. I'd like to deal
with a couple of verses this morning. Verses 7 and 8. Before we look into the Scriptures,
let's thank the Lord. Our Father, we call upon You
this morning in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we realize
that all of our hope and all of our comfort, all of our peace
is of You. We thank You that You've granted
us the privilege to be able to come this morning and to worship
in the hearing of Your Gospel. What a joy! to be able to feast
upon Him who is the bread of heaven, the drink of Him who
is the water and the fountain of life. Lord, prepare this morning,
we pray, the hearts of Your people, and cause us to hear and to rejoice,
for it is in Christ's name we ask these things. Amen. had heard Him that sat on the
throne. Boy, it'd need a comfort to know
that He who speaks sits on the throne. The One that's in control. The One who orders all things
after the counsel of His own will. That'll set your heart.
That'll settle your heart down. What are you going through this
morning? Well, you're going through just exactly what He's ordered
that you would go through. For you that believe, the Lord
is manifesting His love to you. Whom the Lord loveth, He chastens. Chastens. Whenever my children
would act up in disobedience, They never had time out. Yeah, they're going to have some
time out. It takes about two minutes. And
that's all the time out they needed. Why? Because I loved them. Spanked
them. Punished them. Why? Disobedience. Never spanked them for a mistake. But disobedience? He that sits
on the throne John says, Behold, I make all things new, new heaven,
new earth, new bodies, right there in verse 5. Write these
things down as a witness. We are reading what the Lord
ordered John the Apostle to write down. Write these things down
for comfort, comfort to God's people, encouragement, revelation
to all that I'm going to call out of darkness, write these
things down." Why? Because these words are true
and faithful. What do you write down? It's
done. It's done. It's come to pass.
This is what we realize in what John has written down, summed
up in this description of the Lord Himself in verse 6. I'm
Alpha and Omega. I'm the first cause and I'm the
last word. Everybody wants to have the last
word. I'll tell you who's going to
have the last word. He that sits on the throne, Bob. He's going
to have the last word. You let the postures strive with
the postures of this world. Let those that raise themselves
up in rebellion against Almighty God manifested in the anger shown
toward God's people. But let me tell you this. He
who is the first cause of all things is going to have the last
word, brother Scott. It's going to be the last word. Boy, the last word. It's going
to be one of these two words right here, Neil. Enter in. Well done. by good and faithful
servant. Or, He's going to say, depart
from Me, you workers of iniquity. I never knew you. I'm Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end, the commencement and the conclusion. I'll give
to him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life
freely. I'm speaking this morning to
thirsty folks, if anyone's thirsty. Thirsty for Christ. Thirsty for
His Word. Thirsty for His comfort. Comfort
ye, my people. That's what this morning... I need some comfort, don't you?
Don't you desire? I need the Lord to speak to my
heart. That new heart. John 4.10 says, Jesus answered
and said unto her, If thou knowest the gift of God and who it is,
that saith unto thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked
of him, he would have given thee living water." If you knew the
gift, the gratuity, salvation itself, same as the living water,
out of their bellies shall flow rivers of living water, life
itself, not false, fake, insignificant, boring religion. I know a lot
of folks come out of duty, out to be seen of men. I know that.
But not everybody. God's people come because they're
hungry. They're thirsty. Now, who shall these be that
are described as the thirst? I'll tell you this. They're the
ones that God's going to give. of the water, the fountain of
life, without a cause in themselves. In verse 7, this is where we
will pick up this morning, He that overcometh shall inherit
all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my Son. He that is victorious The victor, he that overcometh. Turn back to Revelation 15.2.
John saw, he looked, I mean, Revelation 15.2. He said, I saw,
as it were, a sea of glass. That sea, you know, we've looked
at this so many times. This sea is a picture of this
world. The sea is always moving. It's a picture of this world's
turmoil and trouble and unrest. That's all it is. Tell me one
thing that you see in this world that's not in turmoil all the
time. It's all the time. Never, never
fails. But here, he said, I saw as it
were a sea of glass mingled with fire to God's people. God has
settled in their hearts. To them, they've overcome the
world. Them that had gotten the victory
over the beast, over his image, over his mark, over the number
of his name, they stand on the sea of glass having the harps
of God, making melody in their hearts, singing in their hearts. 1 Corinthians 15, 57 says, But
thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ. We are thankful to the Lord God
Himself for the victory that He has wrought, not we ourselves. There is not one thing that I
can do. I have no ability whatsoever. I was listening this morning
to a fellow that was on television, and he said, ìAll men have faith.î And I thought, ìHow do you get
that?î Not the faith of Godís elect, because the Scripture
says they donít. All men have not faith. But Almighty God has given His
people, the victory through Christ Jesus our Lord. Victory over sin. You think about
that. Victory over sin that had us
held in bondage and death in the grave when we had no power
whatsoever to do anything, captive by nature, held in bondage gave us the victory. How? Through
His blood. Took our guilt and made it His
own. Made sin. We've said that so many times,
but it's the truth. Made the guiltiness. What was
He made? He was made sin. Brother Scott
says, was the water that was turned into wine, was it really
wine? Or was it water that had a sign
on it that says, paste it on top of it, you know? Wine. And
it's really water. It says, no, it was wine. Made
flesh. Was He made flesh or was it something
that looked like flesh? The Lord told His disciples,
touch me, touch me, feel me. Flesh. When He was made sin,
what was He? He was made sin. I know how men
will say, some will say, I don't want to say anything disrespectful
against the Lord Jesus Christ. I don't want to say anything
that would be disrespectful toward Him being made sin. But Scott
said something to me one day. He said, don't you ever say anything
that will take away the glory of what He's done. He was made
sin, made to be what His people are by nature and put it away. Put it away. Thanks be to God which giveth
us the victory. Our thankfulness for the victory
through Christ Jesus. This overcoming, this victory
over Satan, the world, beast, his mark, his number, that is
through Him who has everlastingly loved His people. David said
in Psalm 51 10, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew
a right spirit within me. I don't need a mending of this old heart. That which is flesh is flesh. Man is born with a dead toward
God, dead heart, dead, dead spiritually. That old heart that he is born
with is the same heart that a believer possesses right now, but he has
a new heart. There are two natures in a believer. David says, ìCreate in me.î That
word ìcreateî means to cut down or to make fat. Cut down or make
fat. When God says, let us make man,
let us create man, He made man. He made man in our image. Who
is the image of God? The Lord Jesus Christ. How did
He make all men? Well, He either cut them down
or He made them fat in their relationship to the Lord Jesus
Christ. He considered them in Christ. All men were made in
the image of God, created to make fat or to cut down. David
says, make fat. I know that today we hear, you
know, we think about fat, and that's a bad thing, you know.
Nobody wants to eat any fat in the Scriptures. That's a good
thing. Make it prosperous. Make it worthiness. Make fat. Make fat in me. A clean heart that is a pure,
perfect, Moral heart, a clean heart, a clean will, a clean
understanding, a clean mind, a clean intellect. Create, make
it, Lord, put it in me. You know the man that'll ask
that is one that's already got that. One that possesses that
is the one that asks for that. Leave a man to himself and renew. That is, make new every day. I need you today. Lord, renew
in me a right spirit, this overcoming by God's grace and God's power
that will keep me from falling. Keep me. Romans 8.37 says, Nay,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that
loved us. That is, we gain a surpassing
victory through Him that loved us. He who overcometh shall inherit
all things." What are these things? Well, I could sit here and start
to name some things. Eternal life, eternal presence
with God, eternal glory. But I won't even begin to touch
it. Here's the promise. All things. All things. A sharer by lot. Romans 8, 17
says, if children, then we're heirs. Sharer by lot. Heirs of God and joint heirs
with Christ. You know, I saw something this
morning that I had. I saw that. I read that. Heirs
of God. Heirs of God and joint heirs
with Christ. I read it and I read it and I read it and this morning,
it's like, Oh, that's what that means. Heirs of God. That is, God Himself is the gift. We're heirs of God. God Himself, the Lord, is the
portion of my inheritance and of my cup. Thou maintainest my
life. That's what David said in Psalm
16, 5. What did the Lord tell Abraham? Genesis 15, verse 1,
ìFear not, Abram, I am thy shield, and thine exceeding great reward.î
What a reward! God! An heir! What is the inheritance? God! What do you get? God! What do you have? God! An heir of God! So if we have God Almighty given
us, we have all things. It's all and in all, heirs of
God and joint heirs with Christ. Now listen to this, co-heirs,
joint heirs with Christ, participants in common. The Lord Jesus Christ through
whom God has spoken unto us in these last days is the appointed
The heir of all things. That's what Scripture says. Who
is the appointed heir? The heir of all things. The Son, the possessor of all
things in creation, in salvation, in providence. He's the heir
of all things. We're the joint heirs. His right
to the throne was evidenced by His redemptive glory. Hebrews
1.3 says, "...who being the brightness of His glory, and the express
image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His
power, when He had by Himself." I like that. By Himself. To whom do we attribute salvation? Was it the Lord? And whoever
decides to exercise their free will? Or is it he who by himself
purged our sins and sat down on the right hand of the majesty
of high? So as being joint heirs with
him, we possess as being found in him all things we possess
All things as being found in Him that He is entitled to. Every degree of blessedness.
I will be His God. I'll be His God in mercy, in
compassion, and He shall be my Son, adopted in the Beloved. Let me just read this last verse
right here and we'll pick up in the next service. Let's just
look at the words and then we'll pick them up. But the fearful,
I look these words up, the fearful, that is, the faithless, cowardly
spirits, those that having made a profession, that is, drop it. Why? Because they feared men. The fearful. The unbelieving. The mockers. Mockers of the gospel. Untrustworthy. The resistors. Made a profession and then fall
back. Unbelieving. The abominable.
Polluted with unnatural lust. Reprobate. those having heard
the gospel and say, I will not have that man rule over me. Murderers,
actual or haters, which the Lord says man that hates another has
committed murder in his heart. And you know what it is to hate
a man? Let me just get it right down to the brass tacks. Somebody
says, well, I don't hate anybody. A man that hates another is one
that won't tell him the truth. Whoremongers, adulterers, fornicators,
either actual or all who work or look or seek for pleasure
and comfort in any other except the Lord of this book. Sorcerers, poisoners is what
that word means. Poisoners, magicians, those who
pretend to produce Supernatural effects. Now, this comes right
down to free will preachers. Free will preachers. They're
sorcerers. Telling men, Neil, that they can produce something
supernaturally, and they can't. A trick. A trick. Idolaters. Those who worship
or give reverence to any but the sovereign God of this book.
And liars. False witnesses. are those that
pervert what they've heard. Let me tell you exactly so you
don't misunderstand. Liars. Men that hear the gospel
and come to a distorted conclusion. Oh, those folks down there at
Katie, they preach babies into hell. Those people down there,
Katie, they distort her. They're liars. Liars. Men that
hear the gospel and come to a distorted conclusion. A bunch of fakes. That's what they are down there. They don't want to give everybody
a chance. They just want to make salvation
just so narrow that nobody can get in but them. Just us three
or four and no more. Liars. Distorters of the truth. They are going to have their
part, their portion, in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death. He that overcometh shall inherit
all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my Son. I'll pick that up. But the fearful,
unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters,
all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with
fire and brimstone which is the second death. Thanks be to God which would give any man, any
woman, a hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. Call him out of darkness
and keep him by his grace. Well, let's just take a break.
