wife, and that ye may believe
on the name of the Son of God. All right, let's take our Bibles.
Turning back to Revelation 21, John had heard a great voice out of heaven. This great voice had revealed
the eternal presence of God with His people. The tabernacle of God is what
verse 3 says, the tabernacle of God, that is, the one in whom
dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. God Himself,
the Lord Jesus Christ, shall allow His people to behold Him
being with them as the tabernacle. Christ, as we said, in you. He that believeth, brother Scott
just read, hath this witness in you. God's regenerated sheep. I say that is because the Lord's
got sheep. They may not have been called
out of darkness yet, but they're His sheep, and He will call them
out. And those that He regenerates,
there's a new nature within them, a new man, a new creature, a
new creation created in Christ Jesus. We shall see Him, though
we see Him by faith now, we shall see Him by sight. And we shall see Him exactly
the way He ascended in our nature. That's where you'll see Him. You'll see Him, the man, Christ
Jesus. and fully know what He has done
in pure, holy, perfect humanity for His glory and our good, the
God-man." There's one mediator between God and man, and it's
the man, Christ Jesus. I've said before, I've heard
others say this, not original, this is just the truth. There's
a man that sits on the throne of God. Our brother. Our friend. Isn't it comforting? You've got
a friend you call on. Someone that you know and you'd
say, you know what, I need some help. That's my friend. We have
a friend six closer than a brother. And while the heaven and the
heaven of heavens cannot contain him, he has chosen to tabernacle
in his people, in his redeemed. The amazing thought of the Lord's
presence with his people. Now, though our understanding
is tainted with sin. I know that, the presence of
sin. And our understanding doesn't
perceive the depth of that glorious thought. The fullest way that
God reveals His mercy to us is in Him dwelling with us. Now you think, I mean, how else
would you know it? How else would you realize it?
God with us. Emmanuel. Sinners bought off the slave
market of sin. Separation is the evidence of
God's displeasure. Turn with me to the book of Luke,
chapter 13. What's the evidence that God
is not pleased? Luke 13, verse 24. Strive to enter in at the straight
gate. For many, I say unto you, will
seek to enter in and shall not be able. When once the master
of the house is risen up and has shut the door, and you begin
to stand without, to knock at the door saying, Lord, open unto
us, and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence
you are. Then shall they begin to say,
We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught
in our streets. And he shall say, I tell you,
I know you not whence you are. Depart from me, all ye workers
of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing
of teeth when you shall see Abraham and Isaac Jacob and all the prophets
in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. The exhibition of the displeasure
of Almighty God is separation, not welcome in His presence,
not invited, not able to be there. In His presence Now in His presence,
there are five things that are revealed in verse 4 that is not going to be found
in that day. Five things that are stated. Number one, and God shall wipe
away all tears from their eyes. Our circumstances. The circumstance,
our environment, where we are right now, really is what dictates
as far as our tears are concerned. There is nothing in that day
that shall cause the tears. In Luke chapter 7, Luke 7, the
Lord had an instance that happened. concerning just one of the many
illustrations. Luke chapter 7, verse 38. It says, Luke 7, 38, Behold a
woman in the city which was a sinner. Now you say, well, I thought
all men were sinners. They are. But by God's blessing,
this woman knew it. She realized it. The Lord had
revealed something to her. and all that are in this life
right now that God reveals what they are by nature. They know
something. That's a blessed thing to be
a sinner. That's a great blessing. Why? Because the Lord Jesus Christ
came into this world to save sinners. You say, well, I'm not
good enough to come into His presence. I'm not worthy in myself. That's a great blessing. to know
that because man by nature thinks he is. What a blessing. This woman knew
something of her need and knew that her need was in that house
right there. She came to this precious thing
that she had, that alabaster box. She began to anoint Him,
weeping. She knew something. There are
innumerable occasions for tears here. Our present sins, the presence
of sins, that grieves me. I wish that I could just not
see the presence of Rebekah in myself, and it's there. That's
not an excuse. Somebody says, well, I'm just
a sinner, you know, I'm just I'm just a sinner. It doesn't
really matter, you know, because we're all just sinners and everything.
That's a cop-out. That is nothing more than you
just saying to yourself, it doesn't matter. It does matter. The problem
is, I just can't do anything about it. But it does not make
me happy, and it doesn't justify rebellion against Almighty God.
I hate the old wretched man that I am, Paul says. I see in me
a nature that hates God, and I'm just like a mad dog, and
I'd like to know what to do, but I just can't. The knowledge
of rebellion and the struggle with this world's cares I know
the right thing. I know in my mind the right thing. I know that the cares of this
world, the seeking after the things of this life, I know that's
wrong. I know it is. And I do it. The souls of our friends, neighbors,
family who are perishing. In that day, God's going to wipe
away. all of their tears. Wipe them
away. Actually, where it says, wipe
it away, it's the figurative speaking of pardon sin. That's what it means. The wiping
away. Pardon their sin. You think for
this to understand, you that believe, you're not proud of
your rebellion against God. and you grieve over it. You're
sitting here and you're thinking, by the grace of God, I'm able
to sit here and rejoice. God's called me out of darkness. Called me out of false religion.
And I hate the way that I am. It grieves me. It truly grieves
me. He'll wipe away. The realization
of the pardon of sin. Now, you know the pardon of sin
I'm right now, as I'm speaking, as I've said before, there's
enough pride in what I'm saying to cast a million worlds into
hell. There's enough pride in just
standing here and just foolish thoughts that go through my mind. There's a pardon of sin. Why? Because God's justified me. He
has justified me by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. justified
me freely by His grace, revealed it to me by faith, and it manifests
itself in works and in words, and He pardons my sins. He pardons the acts of my sins
because the Lord Jesus Christ has paid the debt and justified
me. He is going to wipe away all
my tears. And the second thing that's going
to be is there will be no more death. The wages of sin is death. And no more sin. No more presence. Been put away. The new man, the
new creature, the new nature, that righteousness imparted. Someone says, ah, the Scripture
never says anything about the imparted. righteous imparting
of a new. There's righteousness imparted. But let me ask you this, that
new creation created in Christ Jesus, created in righteousness,
that sinneth not because His seed remaineth in you, what do
you call that? Well, imparted righteousness
is not in the Bible, neither is substitution. Find the word
substitution in there. But I'll tell you this, it's
taught. It's truly taught. If he wasn't
my substitute, if he wasn't sitting there, hanging there as Marvin
Stoniker on that tree, I don't have any hope. He was made to
be what I am, Brad. He who was holy. undefiled, separate
from sinners. He was in all points tempted
as we are, yet without sin. There will be no more death. The body of this death, the old
man, that old nature is gone. And the Scripture says there
will be neither sorrow We will wipe away all of our tears and
there will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more mourning
or suffering is what that is. In this life we suffer being
oppressed and despised for the sake of Christ. We mourn over the death of loved
ones. We mourn over the ill-treatment
of others. We mourn over being treated disrespectfully
by others. But there's going to be no more
of that. There's not going to be any crying. Now you say, well,
I thought that it said there was going to be no more tears
and no more crying. Well, isn't that the same thing?
Not in this case, it's not. The word here, the word tears
there, is something that I am doing in my heart. And there's
times in you that believe concerning that crying. I'm convinced. I know it's happened to me before.
There'd be times that just I may be sitting here somewhere else,
driving down the road, listening to a message, somebody preaching,
or just think just for a moment. And it's just like, I mean, all
of a sudden I just couldn't help it. I just, just the, just somewhat
of the realization of my rebellion against God, I just, I began
to weep. You know, and I, you know, I'm
not trying to say that, you know, trying to be anything other than
honest. I mean, just trying to sound super spiritual or anything,
it just grieves me. There are times that I just would
weep. But here it says there is going
to be no more crying. But this word, crying, is outcrying
is actually what the word means. It is the same word as clamor. There will be no more brawlings,
no more contention, reproaches against God's people is what
this is talking about. No more tears for me grieving
over my sin. But here, no more outcrying. Peter says in 1 Peter 3.16, having
a good conscience that whereof they speak evil of you, as of
evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good
conversation in Christ. In that day, there is not going
to be any more outcrying and clamor and shoutings against
and despisings. Why? God is going to put it in
hell, in the lake of fire. He's going to put it away, and
God's people in that day is going to cry, Hallelujah, because He's
done that which is right. No more crying, the outcrying
against God's people. Neither shall there be any more
pain, no more toiling for the subsistence of this world. Genesis 3.19 says, "...in the
sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto
the ground." Because of the presence of sin, there's a toiling now. There's a struggle in this life.
You men, you women, get up and you go to work. You go to work
every day. The reason you go to work every
day is because, man, it's not It doesn't work. It doesn't deserve
to eat. And it doesn't pull its weight. It doesn't deserve to
eat. A toiling because of the rebellion of Almighty God. We
toil. We struggle. I come here to study. And I tell you, you know, it's
hard to realize. I'm just telling you, just being
honest with you. Sometimes someone might say, well, you know, OK,
we're going to have service this morning and, you know, either
Brother Scott or Marvin get up today or Donnie, whoever's preaching. They said, you know, well, it's
kind of, well, they've been preaching for years, you know, this kind
of just comes off the top of his head, you know, just maybe,
I don't know how long it takes to prepare a message, what, about
an hour, hour and a half, something like that, you know, because
basically saying the same thing, you know. I tell you what, It's a toil to study. Brad, whenever Donnie asks you
to preach, you're going to have to preach this Sunday or something
like that, you know? I mean, does it cross your mind?
Well, if I get maybe Saturday afternoon, maybe 45 minutes or
an hour, I'll come up. No, ma'am. I mean, you're sitting down here
and you're looking, and you know what you're looking for. You're
looking for Him. You're looking for the honor
of Christ. but to sit down to study, it's
a toil, it's a labor, it's a struggle. There's not going to be any more
pain, no more toil, no more strivings. Why? Because the former things
are passed away. The order of things as we know
them today are things that are manifest because of the presence
of sin. The world before judgment, right
now in this life, I mean, it's a struggle every day just to
get up. Man, there's times that I'll
be laying in bed in the morning and I'm thinking about, you know,
my kids will go through my mind. You know, I'll think about something
I've got to do. And I mean, it's a toil, a struggle. These things are passing away. And the Scripture says, verse
5, He that sat upon the throne said, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write, for
these words are true and faithful. He that sat on the throne..."
The throne that is in heaven, as the Scripture reveals it to
be, is best realized and manifested. And this is going to be a comfort
to you. that the Lord God sits upon is best realized and is of most
comfort to God's people realizing that it is the throne upon which
He sits in His people's heart. He that sits on the throne. The
Scripture clearly reveals Christ in you. We said this morning,
the hope of glory. He sits where he is conquered.
He has removed the heart of stone and given a new heart upon which
his law is written and loved. He that sat on the throne says,
Behold, I make all things new, that new man, new creature created
in righteousness, then shall be free from the struggles of
all this flesh, everything that we've seen in this book. We've
seen how the Lord has kept His people, how the beast, Satan,
how the world, the cares of this world. And in that day, John
says, I knew heaven, knew earth. I saw the holy city coming down
out of heaven, and I heard a voice out of heaven that said, I make
all things new, the tabernacle of God. is with them. And he that sat on the throne
of their heart saith, I make all things new. Then God's people
shall possess that nature that doesn't strive against the old
man any more. But listen to me. You that believe
have that nature right now. That new nature, that new man,
that new creation created in Christ Jesus, the nature that
you possess right now is bound to this earth by the presence
of the body of sin. Paul says, who shall deliver
me from the body of this death? The nature that you possess right
now in that day will be freed from the body of this death,
and in that day you will see Him as He is. You possess the
very nature now, you that believe, that you shall eternally possess. We see now by faith when this
old body, sown in corruption, put in the ground, is going to
be raised incorruptible. And in that day, you will see
old things passed away. He said, I make all things new. Then, as the new heaven and the
new earth shall exist, a nature that we don't perceive, we will
in that day possess an untainted nature. Perfect worship. Perfect praise. Perfect fellowship. You say, I can't even imagine
what that's like. I understand that. But you believe
it. You believe it. New things that
shall be completed in that day are now in existence. New things
that shall be completed. Listen to this Scripture, Philippians
1.6, being confident of this very thing, that he which hath
begun a good work in you. Isn't that what it says, Brother
Scott? He that hath begun a good work
in you will perform it, will complete it. until the day of
Jesus Christ. The good work begun in God's
purpose according to election. He that which hath begun a good
work, He is the source of this good work. It was confirmed,
finished, accomplished in redemption by the blood of the Lord Jesus
Christ, and it is realized in regeneration. by the Spirit of
God calling His people out of darkness in time. And they know
it. They realize it. They see it. Eyes to see it, ears to hear,
a mouth to speak, a heart to know and to believe. They believe
Him. And they rejoice in it. And it's
going to be absolutely, perfectly finished eternally. in His presence and His fellowship. And the confidence that we have
concerning these things is His Word. That's what we've got. What do we have? How do we know
it's for? He said so. How do you know it's
going to be like that? Because He said so. He told John,
you write, for these words are true and faithful. You rest your
soul upon Him who cannot lie. Let me tell you what your old
flesh just said. Your flesh just said, I don't believe that. I don't know if I can completely
believe that. I don't know if I can completely rest in that.
That's what the old man says. And the new man says, I believe
that. And you strive and you struggle.
Don't you hate it because you're wrestling right now. You're wrestling
right now. These things are faithful and
true. They are truthful and they are
trustworthy. These things are so. And he said
unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is
a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. This is this. John said, and
he said to me, He said to me, is it not the most wonderful
thought to think right now? He said to me. He said to me. It wasn't that he was just out
there talking to everybody, though I know he does speak to his people
personally. They hear his voice. But he said
this to me. He said to me, ìItís done.î What
is the depth of what is done? I donít know. What is absolutely
the fullness of what Heís done? Whatever was required. Explain
to me the depth of what He has actually accomplished. I canít. What is done? it. The redemption of His people,
the total glorification of Himself, it is done. That is, it is generated. It is caused to be. All that has been determined
shall be fulfilled. All that God has willed, He does,
finishes. That is why I quoted this morning,
ìThis is the will This is the Father's will which hath sent
me, that of all which he hath done, or all that he hath given
me, I'm sorry, I should lose nothing, but should raise it
up again at the last day." It's done. It is become. It is become. Why? Why is it
done? Well, he says right here, it's
done. Here's the reason. He said, I'm
Alpha and Omega. The beginning, and the end. I
am Alpha. I'm the first cause. That's what
he said. I'm Alpha. I'm the first cause. He works all things after the
counsel of His own will. What is the first cause? Who
is the first cause? Let's say it like that. Who's
the first cause? God Almighty. I am Alpha and
I'm Omega. I'm the finisher. I'm the first
cause and I'm the finisher of all things. This world is playing
out, if I can say it like that, according to God's purpose and
God's providence and God's power. He's doing everything. I'm just
lost in that thought. I just see just a little bitty...
I'm just looking at one point with an eye and I just... And
he is ordering everything, coming to the conclusion that he's purposed
eternally. He says, I'm the beginning, I'm
the commencement, and I'm the end, I'm the conclusion. I am
completely from beginning to end. I am completely. You know, Adam transgressed completely. Adam rebelled completely. Adam failed completely. The Lord Jesus Christ has obeyed
completely. He is from beginning to end,
He said, I am the faithful one. This is my beloved Son in whom
I am well pleased. He is the eternal God. who knows
the end from the beginning. Why? Because He's made all things,
and He orders all things, and He holds all things, and He purposes
all things, and He works all things. How do you think He knows
all things? How do you know He knows the
end from the beginning? Because He said, I said so. I
said so. Oh, this is the God that dwells
with us. He that's able to keep you from
falling. What if I fall? He's able to
keep you from falling. What if I rebel? What do you
mean, what if? He took your guilt. He took your sin. It was His. He took it. He paid. And I will
give unto Him that is athirst of the fountain of the water
of life freely. There is a satisfaction of a
slaking thirst that must be given. I will give unto Him. I will
bestow unto Him. That is a thirst. You know, the
first thing is that a thirst must be given. Man has got to
be thirsty. Man by nature does not thirst
after Christ. That first realization must be,
I need Him. Man is thirsty. I mean thirsty. Somebody said, I've got some
Kool-Aid here. You don't happen to have a cold
drink of water, do you? Well, I've got some wet mud over
here. You wouldn't happen to have some
cold, clear water. Thirsting. It's a thirsting after
righteousness. What is that? You that believe
know what it is. You thirst. This drinking is
an internal drinking that has been placed within you, imparted
to you. John 4.14 says, "...whosoever
drinketh of the water, that I shall give him shall never thirst."
But you said, I thought the Scripture says, blessed is he that thirsts
after righteousness. The Scripture says he'll never
thirst. This means he'll never be unsatisfied. He's never thirsty. He'll never
be unsatisfied. But the water that I shall give
him shall be in him. A well of water springing up
into everlasting life. continually drinking of the water
within." Isaiah 55, 1. Oh, listen up! Listen up! Everyone that thirsteth,
oh listen, anybody thirsty, come to the waters. He that hath no
money, you that have no ability, you that know that you have no
will in yourself, Come you buy and eat, come buy wine and milk
without money, without price. Isn't anybody thirsty? You see,
that thirst has got to be satisfied. It must be. He that gives the
thirst satisfies the thirst. He that is a thirst, I will give. The Lord that created the thirst
after Himself satisfies the thirst of Himself. of the fountain of
life, the gushing, the source of life is to all that are thirsty. Somebody might say, well, I hear
you. You're setting forth this Christ,
this God that you're saying is sovereign. I hear what you're
saying. I hear you saying that He's elected
from the foundation of the world, I hear what you're saying, that
saying He's sovereign, that He does all these things after the
counsel of His own will, but I'll be honest with you, I'm
just not thirsty for that kind of God. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to you that are thirsty.
I'm talking to you that need God. You that are thirsty. Everyone that thirsteth, I think
about that Scripture when the Lord said in that great day,
in that last day, the great day of the feast, the Lord stood
up and He said, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me. And I wonder
how many, you know, walking by said, What do you say? What do
you mean, if any man thirst? Are you thirsty? No, I'm not
thirsty. I'm not either. But if any man thirsted spiritually
after Him, If any man thirsts, are you drinking of him right
now? Yes, you are. Yes, you are. You taste of the
freshness of himself. You eat of him. You drink of
him. He says, I will give unto him
that is a thirst of the fountain of water of life freely. freely, without a cause in yourself. It's not going to be that the
Lord looked down and said, He's worthy in Himself to drink. He's been obedient. He's been
faithful. He's shown up at church. You
know, He's been supportive. Supports the church, you know,
monetarily. Supports it. He's worthy. No.
No, there's not one man, not one woman. as worthy in themselves. I will give of the water of life
without a cause in yourself." Everything that God has given
has been given in mercy, in grace, in compassion, and found to be
so totally in Himself. He that sat on the throne said,
I make all things new." New nature that you're not accustomed to
seeing. He said unto me, write. These words are true and they're
faithful. God's people, they hear that
and they say this. Those words are true and they're
faithful. Why? Because He who is truth and He
who is faithful said them. He said to me, it's done. Boy,
isn't that a good thought? It's done. It's over. You don't
have to worry, brother Scott. It's done. Who's done it? He
did it. Behold, he says, I'm Alpha and
Omega. I'm the first cause. I finished
it. Beginning and the end, I'll give unto him that's a thirst
of the fountain of the water of life without any cause in
himself. Salvations of the Lord. Salvation
by grace. By grace. Through faith, not
of yourself. Why? Because we boast in it.
We boast in Him. Thankful for Him. Okay, brother,
there you go.
