Thou art, Thou art, Thou art. When Christ shall come, with
shout of exclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill
my heart. In humble adoration, and there
proclaim, My God, how great Thou art. My Savior God to Thee, how great
Thou art, how great Thou art. This ain't my fault, my Savior
God to Thee, how great Thou art. Thank you, John and Annette. Go with me to the book of Luke
11 again. Luke chapter 11. As you know,
we go through the Scriptures verse by verse and don't want
to leave any verse out. All verses are worthy of a whole
message, but I certainly didn't want to skip over verse 31. Luke
chapter 11. The Lord Jesus Christ says, the
Queen of the South, Sheba, we just read that, shall rise up
in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn
them. For she came from the utmost
parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold,
a greater than Solomon is here. He was speaking about Himself,
greater than Solomon. There have been many messages
preached on this, and I have tried myself. We went through
1 Kings, all the way to chapter 12 or so, and 10 or 12 messages,
you and I together. And many others, I've heard many
others preach, try to preach, and the half has not been told. This story, now you can go back
to 1 Kings. 1 Kings that we looked at. Go to 1 Kings chapter 2 to begin
with. 3, chapter 3. Solomon. The whole story of Solomon. And the reason why the Lord created
Solomon and had him live and told his story was to tell the
story of Jesus Christ. Okay? That's why the whole Bible
is written. He is the subject of the whole
Bible. Jesus Christ. I'm going to say
it again. He's all. And in all. The Scripture. This is a hymn
book. H-I-M. It's all about hymn. He
said, Moses wrote of me. That's the first five books of
the Bible. Moses. was writing about me. That's
what Christ said. Abraham, who was before Moses, he said, your
father Abraham, he rejoiced to see my day. And he saw it. And was glad. Abraham knew Jesus
Christ. He believed Jesus Christ. You
say, I didn't say that. Christ said it. One time he preached
on the road to Emmaus to two disciples. And it says, beginning
in the books of Moses and all the prophets and the Psalms.
That's the whole Old Testament. He expounded unto them the things
concerning Himself. He said all of these things are
written of Him. That's why God had this book
written. They're written to tell of Him. Solomon was a great man. We're
going to look at his greatness. The greatest man before or since
human being, mortal man. He was the greatest earthly king.
His riches were unmatched. His wisdom was unmatched. Our Lord says, a greater than
Solomon is here. And do you know, when this is
all over, I mean this ball of dirt ends, everyone Listen to
Revelation 5. Every one, ten thousand times
ten thousands and thousands of thousands, are going to be saying
with a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive,
that is, from our lips, praise and adoration, power, all power,
riches, true riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, Blessing
every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the
sea, all in them, John said, I heard them saying, Blessing,
honor, glory, power, unto Him that sitteth upon the throne,
unto the Lamb, forever and ever. And everybody said, Amen. This story represents Jesus Christ,
Solomon. represents Jesus Christ. Solomon
is a picture, is a type. Our Lord said the Queen of Sheba
shall rise up in the judgment. Very briefly, I'm going to try
to be brief. I'm going to try to preach the unsearchable
riches of Christ and his wisdom in 30 minutes. But he said, the Queen of Sheba
shall rise up into judgment against this generation. She came, she
was a sincere seeker. Scripture says, as none calleth
for truth, none seeketh. Do you know if anybody is asking
you, what is truth? Who is God really like? What
is God really like? Who is God? How do you know God?
What is the truth? You hear anybody? No. She did.
She came, as I said, 1,500 miles one way on a camel. It took her
40 days or more to get there. To hear a man. And you can't hardly get a person
to cross the street to hear God's Word. Give them a message. Here, here's a message on the
wisdom of Christ, our wisdom. Here's a message, a CD. Or go
on to Sermon Audio and listen to this message of the wisdom
of God that is crack. Hang on, listen. She did. She did. Came a long way. She
was not invited. She was not invited. She didn't
know if he was going to hear her when she came. God commandeth
all men everywhere to repent. God commandeth everyone to kiss
the sun lest he be angry. Psalm 2. Served the Lord with
fear and trembling. No. Not interested, most people
say. She was. She had a little wisdom. She had a little honor. She had
a little glory. She had riches as far as the
world goes. She was the richest woman on
earth, until she saw Solomon. She thought she knew something,
until she heard Solomon. She thought she was somebody,
and then she saw him. And she was a nothing, a nobody
from nowhere. Poor compared to him. Oh, the lofty looks of man. Oh, the proud looks of men and
women and even young people. Oh, how people think they're
wise. The riches that they call riches. Her coming to see Solomon was
a very costly thing. It cost her a lot of money. A great venture, a great sacrifice,
a long way. Ask her, was it worth it? Oh,
she said, I'd give all of my kingdom. Now that I know what
I know, who I know, I would give it all. Oh, the excuses that people use. Not interested. She came asking,
she received. She came seeking, she found.
And her life was forever changed. 1 Kings 3, look at this with
me. Here's the wisdom of Solomon. Wisdom of Solomon. 1 Kings 3,
verse 5, The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night,
and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon, verse
9, asked the Lord, Give thy servant... Now who's he speaking to? He's
speaking to Christ. That's who's speaking to him.
He's the Word of God, isn't he? Christ is the Word of God. He
said, Give thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people that
I may discern between good and bad. Who's able to judge this
not so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord
that Solomon had asked this thing. Long before this world began,
God in a covenant, God in His purpose and His will, Before
anything was created that was created, Christ was by him. Christ
was with him. And they in a covenant said,
you're going to lead my people. You're going to judge my people.
You're going to reign and rule over my people. And I'm going
to give you wisdom, power. He had it, but I'm saying it
as this picture. Authority over all flesh, there's
going to be none like you. And you're going to go reign
and rule over my people and leave them. Look down at verse 12. And verse 11, God said, Because
thou hast not asked this thing, hast not asked long life or riches
for yourself, but hast understood it, I, verse 12, Given thee a
wise and understanding heart, there'll be none like thee, neither
after thee shall any arise like unto thee. I have also given
you riches and honor. There'll be no king like you
before or after. There'll be nobody like you.
Now that is Jesus Christ. I just read to you from Revelation
5. But they all said, all power, all glory, all honor, all riches. Colossians says, in Him dwelleth
all the fullness. All the treasures of wisdom and
knowledge. Will you just go with me real
quickly to Proverbs. Solomon wrote the Proverbs, and
they speak of Jesus Christ. All the Proverbs, if we had understanding,
we would see. They speak of Christ. Proverbs
1, just begin there, okay? He says in Proverbs 1, the Proverbs
of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel. You know that
Jesus Christ is called the son of David, don't you? Made of
the seed of David according to the flesh. King of Israel. He's king of Israel alright.
Verse 2, to know wisdom and instruction. This is the purpose of the Proverbs. To know wisdom. What's wisdom? It's not a thing. A creed, it's not knowledge in
your head, it's a person. Christ is wisdom. Verse 7, the
fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. And chapter 9,
verse 10, the beginning of wisdom. But fools despise wisdom. Isn't it said of Christ, He's
despised and rejected of men. Look at Proverbs 2. Proverbs
2, verse 1, My son, and I hope our young people are looking
at this, If thou wilt receive my words, Christ is speaking,
God is speaking. Hide thy commandments with thee,
incline thy ear unto wisdom, apply thy heart to understanding.
Let's cry. Yea, if thou cryest after knowledge,
lift up thy voice for understanding. If thou seekest her, speaking
of him, a silver. As hid treasure, then shalt thou
understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
The Lord giveth wisdom. Christ is the unspeakable gift
out of His mouth. That's where Christ came from,
didn't He? The bosom of the Father. Knowledge and understanding.
Verse 9, Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment,
and equity in every good path. Didn't Christ say, I am the way,
the truth, and the life? I was going to have you go on
and on. Proverbs 4, Proverbs 8. Let me just read one thing
to you from Proverbs 8. The whole chapter is about Jesus
Christ. And He said, by Me kings reign. By Me princes rule. All the judges
of the earth. By Me Christ hath preeminence
over all reigns and rules. He said, riches and honor are
with me. Durable riches and righteousness. My fruit better than gold. Mine
than fine gold. I lead in the way of righteousness
and the path of judgment. I cause those that love me to
inherit substance and treasures. That's all Christ did. So Solomon
was a man with great wisdom and riches. Great riches. Look at
something of his. His table, His provisions. Look
at chapter 4, 1 Kings 4. This is just His table and all
that He served in one day. His riches were beyond measure. Queen Sheba came and brought
millions of dollars worth of gold and silver to Solomon. He
received that much every day. He had it all. And that's what
our God says of Himself. All the gold, the silver, and
the myrrh, but all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, all
the riches and treasures of all things are in Christ. He has
it all. 1 Kings 4, look at verse 21,
Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine meal,
three score measures of meal, ten fat oxen, twenty oxen of
the pastures, and a hundred sheep besides harts and roebucks and
fallow deer and fatted fowl. Why did he have so much food?
Because he was feeding that whole kingdom. Everybody received their
food from him. He was a great provider for all
of his kingdom, and he was so magnanimous. He was so generous. He loved his people so much that
anybody and everybody was hungry. It doesn't matter who it was.
It didn't have to be royal. It could be the lowest of the
low. If you're just hungry and thirsty, come on in. Look at
all that food. Oh, is there enough to go around?
Enough. I own it all, Solomon said. Come on, come one, come
all. But our Lord Jesus Christ owns the cattle on a thousand
hills, all the treasures of everything, gold and silver and all the mines.
He feeds every human being. That's Jesus Christ. Everything
receives everyone from His hand. What does He require of us? Thanks. Thank you. Praise Him. Worship
Him. That's it. Oh, the tender mercies of our
Lord over all His... And He said, Oh, how blessed
are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, they'll
be filled. You come to the table, you'll
be filled. Which is Christ Himself. Christ is the Lord, the Provider,
the Feeder, the Sustainer of all. And all of these things
represent Him. You know, He said this, He said,
except you eat My body, and drink my blood, you have no part in
it. Do you understand what that means? All people that sit at
His table, they're feeding on Him. He's not only feeding them,
but He is the food. That's Christ and Him crucified.
We feed on Him. We need nothing else when we
come here. If you hunger for righteousness,
we need nothing else than Him. And He serves us up a generous
portion, fat things, and wine on the leaves, which are Christ
Himself. You come, open your mouth wide,
and He'll fill it full of Him. And you'll go away full. Well, Solomon was the great,
look at verse, let's see, Oh, verse 24. He was a great
provider and a great protector. He had dominion, verse 24, over
all the regions on this side of the river, from Tipsa even
to Asa, over all the kings on this side of the river. He had
dominion over them. He had peace on all sides round about him.
Judah and Israel dwelt safely. Every man under Solomon's vine
and under Solomon's fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba, all the
days of Solomon. Peace. in His kingdom. He made peace. God made peace. And He protected them, provided
for them. He was their Lord and He was
their Savior all those days. He represents Jesus Christ. He has dominion over all, doesn't
He? Of His reign and His rule, Isaiah
said in chapter 9, there's no end. He's called the Prince of
Peace. That's what Solomon's name meant.
Peaceable. Peaceable. David fought battles till nearly
the day he died. David fought all of Israel's
battles. David conquered all of Israel's
foes. David protected them by shedding
blood. David did. When David, the son
of David came, Solomon, there was peace. What's that? Are you with me? Christ is called
the son of David. He fought all the battles for
all of His people. And when He hung on Calvary's
tree, you see, all the days of His life He was defeating our
foe. And when He hung on the tree,
on Calvary's tree, He uttered those final words of victory. Warfare accomplished. Sins paid
for. The God of this world crushed. His people taken out of His captivity. He said, it's finished. He obtained
peace. And now He is Solomon. He made
peace by the blood of His cross. And we have peace with God through
the blood of Jesus Christ. He is our peace. He's sitting,
reigning, ruling, has dominion over all. The Prince of Peace.
And of His dominion, there's no end. His government, no end.
He right now reigns and rules. And we have peace. So Solomon's
a picture of Christ. Something of his wisdom. Look at verse 29. 1 Kings 4 verse
29. God gave Solomon wisdom, understanding,
exceeding much, largeness of heart, big hearted, as the sand of the
seashore. Oh, what about the heart of our
Christ? What is God like? Jesus Christ,
just like Jesus Christ. They're one and the same. Merciful. Gracious. All about it. Love. Magnanimous. Great love. Greater
love hath no man than them. None greater. Wisdom. You see,
Solomon received wisdom. Christ is wisdom. Solomon had
food. Christ is food. You understand? Solomon bore some rule. Christ
ruled Solomon. Of His own will beget He us. Solomon received everything.
It was Christ that was talking to Solomon. And it says in verse
30, Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children
of the East Country, of all the wisdom of Egypt, He was wiser
than all men. These were some notable men of
their day, the people who thought were wise. Ethan, Ezra, Thiton,
Heman, Chalcol, and Darkda, the sons of Mahal, and his fame was
in all nations round about. They were some wise men. You
know why? They came to hear Solomon. They thought they were just blunt
fools compared to Solomon. They didn't think they knew anything.
What of all the wise men throughout the Scriptures, like Solomon?
Solomon wrote of Christ. David, Abraham, Moses. Oh, how wise. Daniel. Daniel. What's Daniel? Who's Daniel?
He's a picture of Christ. On and on it goes. These people
received their wisdom from Christ. And He was their wisdom. He was
made unto them wisdom. They spoke of Him. We're going
to see that in a moment about Solomon. His fame, and have they
not all heard, have not everyone heard of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Yes, everywhere, round about, all nations. Verse 32, he spake
3,000 proverbs and his songs were 1,005. 3,000 proverbs he
wrote. We only have about 800 and some. You could spend 3,000 days
on the first chapter of Proverbs. He wrote 3,000, we've got 800
and some. He wrote 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs. Brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ gave them to him.
He wrote as he took dictation from Christ. If all that was
said and done by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Scripture says, was
written in a book, the world couldn't contain the books of
it. Proverbs. Everything that's created and
everything that hath breath speaks of Him. All about Him. And every song that's worth singing
is about Him. Do you know how many songs have
been sung about Him? Probably more than all the other
songs combined. And all songs will end someday. All supposed
music and song of man will end someday, and we'll be singing
one song. Worthy is the Lamb. In verse
33, He spoke of trees and cedar tree and hyssop, beasts, fowl,
creeping things. I just read to you from Revelation
5. Everything in heaven, everything on earth and under the earth
is speaking of him. Are you with me? Hold on to your seats. This gets
better and bigger and better. Now he's wise, he's written all
this stuff. Solomon built a temple. Men today
like to brag about their houses. He spared no expense. He had
everything from all over the world brought to build this glorious
temple. It took Him years to build it.
What's that? That's the Kingdom of God. It's
Christ Himself. Every facet, every aspect of
Him, everything about Him, His glorious person, His character,
His work, everything about Him is just beyond description. The brightness of the glory of
God. The temple, you walk in that temple, you would be dazzled.
You would be blinded. You would just be, you'd see
no glory anywhere else but there. And that's Christ. If you ever
see His beauty, and His glory, and His kingdom, His glory, the
Lord, His church. The Lord built the house, and
it's His building. We don't have time to look at
that. But, alright, here's something of Solomon's prayer. Solomon prayed. Look at chapter
8. We looked through this whole chapter one time. Solomon assembled
everyone and he prayed for them. Oh my! Oh my! You know, God heard his prayer.
And here's the basis of what he said. He said in 1 Kings 8
verse 13, I have surely built thee a house to dwell in, a settled
place for thee to abide in forever. That's the work of Christ in
His kingdom, His church. He built the church. Verse 15,
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel. Verse 17, It is in the heart
of my Father to build this house for the name of the Lord. And
down in verse 22, He stood before the altar of the Lord in the
presence of the Lord. Verse 23, Lord God, there is no God like
Thee in heaven and earth who keepeth covenant and mercy. What
of that prayer that our Lord prayed in John 17? Father, He looked into heaven and lifted
up His eyes and said, Father, glorify Thy name. Verse 25, keep Thy servant David. Keep the promise, O Lord. Keep that with Thy servant David,
my Father, that Thou promised him. Christ in him are all the
promises of God. Yea, and amen. That shall not
fail a man to sit on the throne of Israel. That's Jesus Christ.
And then he went on to pray Sinners. Just real quickly, go down to
verse 46. He said, They sin against thee,
and there is not a man that sinneth not. And ye be angry with them,
and deliver them to the enemy, and to carry them away captive
unto the land of the enemy, far and near. Yet if they shall bethink
themselves in the land where they are carried captive, and
repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them
that carried them captive, saying, We have sinned and done perversely,
we have committed wickedness, And so return unto thee with
all their heart and all their soul in the land of their enemy,
that's us, which led them captive. And pray unto thee toward their
land which thou gavest. Verse 49, Then hear thou their
prayer and their supplication in heaven and the dwelling place,
and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people that sinned
against thee, and all their transgressions which they transgressed against
thee, and give them compassion. And brothers and sisters, Christ
is our forgiveness of sin. Christ is the name to whom we
pray, to the Father with. And if any man say, I'm a sinner,
have mercy upon me for Christ's sake. You know what the Father
will do? Forgive. He'll forgive you. Alright, now go to chapter 10.
Here's the story, and I'm just going to read this with a few
comments. Alright? Look at this. This woman named
Sheba was a queen of a pretty large kingdom down in Africa,
Ethiopia, exactly where you think it is. And she heard, verse 1,
the fame of Solomon, now look at this, concerning the name
of the Lord. Now you see that? The reason
Solomon was wise was because he knew Christ. The reason Solomon
was wiser than anybody else was everything he thought of and
everything he spoke of was Jesus Christ. Do you hear me? People
profess themselves to be wise, but I don't care what they know,
whether it be nuclear physics or whatever it may be. If they
don't know Christ, God says, they're fools. Isn't that right? Solomon knew the Lord. And he
knew that everything... He spoke of trees. He spoke of
trees. You know what he'd speak of when
he'd speak of trees? Christ! In the Garden of Eden, there
was a tree of life. In Revelation, there's a tree
of life. What's that? Jesus Christ. Everything. He spoke of hyssop in the wall.
What's that, Solomon, that hyssop? Well, my father David prayed
a prayer in Psalm 51 about, purge me with hyssop, which goes all
the way back to the sacrifice made by the high priest, taking
hyssop, Or the people in Exodus taking hyssop and putting the
blood of a lamb on the doorpost and the lintel. That's Christ.
That's Christ crucified. That's what Solomon will tell
you. What do you want to know? Tell me about the love of God.
It's in His Son, Jesus Christ, Messiah. Tell me about the wisdom
of God. It's personal. What about this world? He owns
it. It's Lord over it all. It all
exists for Him. Anything, everything. Whatever
he said. He knew the Lord. The name of
the Lord. Do you hear me? The name of the
Lord. He knew the God of Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob. Jehovah, Sidkenu, Jehovah-Rabba,
Jehovah-Reh, Jehovah-Shalom. He knew the Lord. Christ said,
this is life eternal. Christ said, this is life eternal.
They might know me. God and me, the Son. The only
true God. And Jesus Christ. Sodom and Doom
Christ. Whom to know is to have life.
The name of the Lord. What's the Lord's name? What's
God's name? There's thousands, but the name above every name
is Jesus Christ. Read on. She came to prove Him
with hard questions. She thought she knew something.
So he said, I've got something I want to ask him. I bet nobody
else has asked him before. When our Lord was on the earth,
says the scribes, the Pharisees, the doctors, the lawyers, the
Herodians, they all asked him questions. What about this? What
about that? And he answered every one of them. And when he finished
asking them, they all... And then he said, let me ask
you something. And he asked them one question. What think ye of
Christ? Whose son is it? He said, the son of David. Why did David call him Lord?
And they couldn't answer that. And they said they all went asking
questions. That all your questions will
be answered in Him. He's the way, the truth, and the life.
Hard questions. Men don't even know the right
questions to ask. She came to Jerusalem with a great train,
spices, All of this. She came to bring something to
Solomon. I laugh. You ought to be laughing.
I'm going to bring Solomon a present. Oh, what are you going to give
him? You have something he needs? She thought she did. This is
like a religious person. This is like false religion.
God needs this. In Psalm 50, it says, If I were hungry, I
wouldn't ask you. I don't know cattle on a thousand hills. That's
not a thousand cattle on one hill. That's a thousand hills
with a thousand cattle on every hill. God needs your money. He can't
do anything. He gave you the money you've got. It's not your
money. If He needed money, He wouldn't
ask you. He'd tell you. This is the Jesus
Christ of Scripture that men don't know. She's going to bring
Solomon something. When this was all over, she thought,
what was I thinking? Solomon told her, verse 3, don't
you love it, he told her all her questions. You need to be
asking this. You need to be asking, how can
God be just and justify a sinner? You need to be asking, how can
God bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Man that's born of
woman is unclean, sinful, wretched. God is holy and righteous. How
then can a holy God have anything to do with sinful man? That's
the question you need to be asking. Now, since you're asking it,
Solomon may have said it, I'll tell you it. And he told her
of Christ's crucify. You say, I don't see it. You have light, you will. He
didn't know his name was Jesus, but he knew he was a Christ who
was to come. Told her all her questions. There's
nothing he had from the king that he didn't tell her. That's
Psalm 139, isn't it? There wasn't a thought in her
head. He said, I know what you're thinking. This is what you're
thinking. And that's Christ. He knows everyone. We need to
be asking no one. Now, when the Queen of Sheba
had seen all Solomon's wisdom, brothers and sisters, if we ever
hear his voice, she heard him. He told her. He revealed the
truth to her. He revealed wisdom to her. He
revealed herself to her. She found out. You know, I'm
a nobody from nowhere. I have nothing. He has it all.
I don't know anything. He knows it all. I can't do anything
for Him. He has to do everything for me.
And that's what every sinner who hears the truth will hear
from God. That's when she'd seen His wisdom,
and the house that He'd built, and the meat of His table. You
read about it. She probably stayed there for 30 days or so. Solomon
said, are you hungry? I sure am. I've been on a long
trip. Come in here. Come in here. Wesley said, come
in here in this room in here. He opened that room and said,
now sit down. Eat. Whoa. And brethren, if you
ever hear the voice of the Son of God and see His glory, and
He reveals the truth to you, and He'll bring you and sit you
down at His table and you'll think, Ha! This is wonderful. Look at all this. Look at all
these riches of Christ. Look at all this food. Food is
wonderful. And it says in verse 5, she saw
the meat of His table, the sitting of His servants. People sitting. Is servant sitting? What are
servants doing sitting? They're supposed to be standing
up waiting on Him. Solomon is so merciful, and so
gracious, and He loves His people so much, He got up from the table
and said, y'all sit down there. I'm going to serve you. Here,
honey, want some of this? He took great delight in serving
His servants. What does that say of Christ? He took upon Himself the form
of a servant. He delighted to wash feet, serve
his people. It even says in the kingdom that
he'll gird himself and serve, but it doesn't say that. Oh my. Read on. It says that he saw
the attendance of his ministers and their apparel. Buddy, these
fellows were not dressed casually in the presence of this king.
Do you reckon? No, sir. with what befits dignity,
the presence of a king that they were in, and their deportment,
and the way they conducted themselves. They were in the presence of
a king, and they feared him, and they reverenced him, they
honored him, and they conducted and acted accordingly. And so do God's true preachers,
and God's true people. They do. They fear Him, and they
act with reverence and respect. And all that they do, and all
that they say, and everything that goes on in the house of
God, is to the honor of their King. Their apparel, what's our
apparel? If you don't know what it is,
you need it. It's the righteousness of Christ. And His cupbearers.
His cupbearers. His butlers. She observed His
cupbearers. Christ one time said, they asked
Him, what are you preaching? He said, ask them that heard
me. And He sent out preachers, apostles. And He sent out 70
others to preach. What did they preach? How do
you know they're His cupbearers? What kind of cup are they bearing?
A cup of Christ's blood. That's what they're bearing.
Which the King drinks from Himself. And His ascent, verse 5, Solomon,
she saw Him While she was there, Solomon said, I must go up to
the house of the Lord, and there must be a sacrifice offered.
I must ascend to the throne. And she watched him walking up
those stairs, and his regal person, with dignity, with honor that's
such as no man she'd ever seen, his glorious apparel, sit down
on that throne of lions all around that throne of Solomon, of ivory
and gold and all that. You know what? There's a throne
that we're going to see. to which the Lord Jesus Christ
ascended from the grave to the right hand of the majesty on
high. And you know, there are not lions around that throne.
The lion's sitting on it. The lion of the tribe of Judah.
And we're not going to be taken up with a throne. We're going
to be taken up with Him that sits on the throne. Look, would
you look at Him. That's who she was taken up with.
His ascent. And it says in the last line,
there was no more spirit in her. No more spirit in her. She came here as somebody, now
she's a nobody. Came here a woman of wealth and
honor, she said, I'm poor and I'm a fool, I didn't even know
Him. I'm a nobody from nowhere, and
I'm just content to sit right here and listen to Solomon, who
spoke of the Lord Jesus Christ. And here's what she said, it's
true, everything I heard. I heard about you, verse 6, and
your acts and your wisdom, how be it, I believed not the words
until I came. And mine eyes have seen it. Behold,
the half was not told of it. And brothers and sisters, until
we come, until we hear, until God gives us ears to hear and
eyes to see His glory and the wisdom that is Christ Himself,
and someday, We'll see him as he is, and we'll say the same
thing. I didn't hear the half of it.
And verse 8, she said this, this blessing. Oh, happy, blessed
are thy men. Where did these men come from?
Solomon chose them. They didn't choose him. He chose
them, right? Oh, blessed is the man whom thou
choosest. Happier are these thy servants.
He made them his servants. which stand continually before
thee, and hear thy wisdom." Oh, we're so blessed. We stand amazed
in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, and wonder how he could
love and choose and bring and call me a sinner condemned unclaimed. Blessed be the Lord, verse 9.
Brother Gabe and I said this is the greatest verse in all
these verses. Blessed be the Lord thy God,
which delighted in thee. Oh, the Lord is well pleased
for His righteousness sake, Christ's righteousness. He delighted in
Him before the world began to set Him on the throne of Israel
because the Lord loved Israel forever. Therefore made He the
King to do judgment and justice. Because the Lord loved His people,
chosen sinners like us, He sent Christ. To live for them, to
die for them, to rise, to sit, to reign, to rule, to ever live,
to make intercession for them. And that He's coming back someday
for every one of them. To take them back to do what?
Behold His glory. That's what Christ said. I will
that they be with me where I am forever. To behold my glory. So Sheba went home. She brought
something, but she went home and he said, you're going to
need a lot more camels and wagons than you came with. He sent her home with twice as
many, a hundredfold more than she came with. What do you reckon
she's talking about on the way home? Jerusalem? The temple? Solomon. Solomon's Lord. She now knows
Solomon's Lord. And when she got home, what do
you reckon from then on she told people about? She's a reigning,
ruling woman now. Everybody that came to her said,
let me tell you about the greatest one of all. Not Solomon, but
Solomon's Lord. Now my Lord and my King. King
of King and Lord of Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ. Do you
know Him? Have you seen Him? Okay, let's sing in closing.
What number, John? 143. 143. 143. A couple of verses. Let's all
stand. 143. Verse 1 and 2. Rejoice, the Lord is King, King
of all.
