Sound from His people again,
that in Your way we adore Him. You can turn back to Psalm 145
with me. Psalm 145. He read with me, most of you, in
John 2. John chapter 2 we were studying.
The last verse of that study says, He began to manifest forth
His glory. And His disciples believed on
Him, began to manifest, began to show forth His glory. We read here in Psalm 145 of
His glory. The title of this message, the
subject of this book, is His Glorious Majesty. the glory and
majesty of His kingdom. Look at verses 4 and 5 again
with me. David says, I will speak of the
glorious honor of Thy majesty and of Thy wondrous works. Verse 11, they means every generation. He has a people that will speak
of the glory of Thy kingdom and talk of Thy power. And they will
speak to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, His works,
and the glorious majesty of His kingdom. Now when he's speaking
of God here, he's speaking of the Lord, he's speaking of God
the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. But principally,
God the Son. God manifest in the flesh because
He's the One. with whom we have to do. He is
the one that God the Father sent to be our Lord and our Savior,
made Lord. Now, glorious majesty. Glory. Glory. The word glory. Brother Barnard
used to say, you only need two books, a Bible and a dictionary.
Concord, it's a dictionary. And look at the word glory. The
word glory means praise. The word glory means to heap
praise on someone. You praise them. You honor them. The word glory means distinction. To show distinction to. Well,
in this chapter, in this book, He distinguishes our God above
all others. Except the trumpet gives a certain
sound, a distinct sound. They won't believe on it. They
won't come. They won't call. This is a distinct gospel, a
distinct Lord and His glory. You want to know how to know
the truth? And those who preach it. You want to know how to know
the truth from error? True preachers from false ones?
There are many, and some of them sound alike. You want to know
how to know the truth of any doctrine, whether it's of God
or of man? You want to know how to know
the truth? Here it is. Who gets the glory? I don't mean part of it. I mean,
all of us. We saw there in 1 Corinthians,
didn't we? I can't get away from that. 1 Corinthians 1 says, Of
God are you in Him who of God is made unto us. Of God. You
see, you're called in brethren, he said. Not many wise men at
this place, not many mighty are called, but God hath chosen.
But God hath chosen. But God hath chosen. Of God are
you in Christ who is made unto us all we need. And it says,
that according as it is written, that according as it is written,
he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. And the truth is
saved. Like David, people after God's
own heart. People to whom God has made Himself
known. The true Israel. The true Jew
inwardly. They don't glory in anyone or
anything but Him. They don't talk of anyone or
anything but Him. In heaven right now, in glory.
It's called glory. Why is it called glory? Because
that's where He is. And you know what's going to
be glory for us? Is we're with Him, where He is. He said that
in His prayer in John 17, that I will, that they be with me,
those you gave me, be with me where I am that they may behold
my glory. How do you know if you're going
to be there, people? Because He sets you apart through
the truth. He sets you apart by showing
you, manifesting to you His glory. John said, we beheld His glory
as of the only begotten of the Father. Not some pitiful, helpless
Jesus, some martyr that came here to earth, that tried to
save and failed, and men took Him, and He is a martyr on a
cross, and oh, won't you let Him into your heart? That's not
the Lord of glory. I need to get to it. Psalm 145 talks about His glorious
majesty. His glory. This thing that distinguishes
Him that's distinct from all other glories. That's what glory
means. The glory in something means
it's an object of your pride. I read to you, it says, if you
glory, don't glory in anything or anyone. Certainly don't glory
in yourself. David, whom the Lord gave wisdom
and some power and some glory as men glory, a kingdom and so
forth, and some possessions and all that. David doesn't say one
thing about himself here. David who accomplished many mighty
things. David who slew Goliath. David
who subdued kingdoms. He doesn't mention one thing
that he did. Not one thing that Daniel did.
Not one thing that Abraham did. Not one thing. This is all about
him. David was a righteous man. He
said, I'll not speak of my righteousness. In Psalm 71 he said, I'll make
mention of thy righteousness and thine only. This is his glory. Majesty. His glorious majesty. Majesty
means magnificence. A great show of beauty or size. Something's magnificent. You
say that's beautiful or something is of great size and splendor. Majesty
means comeliness. It means excellence. You know
who's talking about here? It means comeliness. It means
excellency. Old Paul wrote of the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. All other worldly wisdom
is foolishness. There's a wise man. There's a
man that fears the Lord. There's a man who's seen His
glory. You see, when He came, there
was no comeliness that we should desire here. But when He shows
forth, He reveals Himself, He manifests Himself to you, His
glory, He's altogether lovely. He's magnificent. If you love
the Lord Jesus Christ, you're going to love this message. You
love it already. I'm just talking about Him. His
goodliness. Majesty means goodness, means
honor. People, we have never seen majesty. They call a woman over in England,
Her Majesty. Oh my. She's just a sinner. I hope she's a sinner saved by
grace, but I don't know. But she has no majesty. I hate
the dedication in the front of the King James Bible. I'll take
it out of most of them that I have. In fact, four or five of them,
I'll take it out of most of them. It talks about His Majesty, the
King of England, King James. Oh, no. We're not going to talk
about His Majesty. His Kingdom has come. His Kingdom
is gone. The place thereof knows it no
more." Psalm 103, doesn't it? We don't think about King James.
I'm thankful for him. I'm glad the Lord raised him
up. I'm glad the Lord used the means of him for us to have this
Bible. But Jesus Christ did that. The Lord Jesus Christ gave that
order, not King James. King Jesus gave the command to
write this Bible, not King James. Majesty. The glorious majesty
of our God and His Christ. No man I hath not seen, Triptur
said, e'er hath not heard, neither hath entered into the heart of
man the things that God hath prepared for him that love him.
He goes on to say, but God hath revealed them unto us. First
Corinthians 2. He hath revealed them unto us
by His Spirit. How much? How much glory and
majesty have we seen? Didn't Paul say, Paul went there,
Deborah, Paul went there, and he said, I heard things unlawful
to utter. He didn't even talk about what
he'd seen. That kid put into words, he said. That's why when he came back,
he said, there's some people that think there's something. There's some people that think
they see glory. They think they see glory in the temple and all
that. One time the disciples came to him. They were impressed
with the temple. They said, Lord, look at this beautiful temple.
He left glory. He left majesty such as no eye
has ever seen before. Where angels sing, perfect harmony. Glory, majesty, majesty. Nobody has actually seen His
glory and majesty. But He came to manifest, to render
apparent. Manifest means to render apparent
or make it apparent to some, make it clear to some. His glorious
majesty to His disciples. This was hidden from most, like
in John chapter 2, it was hidden from that ruler of the kingdom.
He was hidden from most of the people, but his disciples saw
his glory. The servant saw his Lord. Listen to this in John,
well you can turn with me, John 14. John 14. I'm going to get to Psalm 145. I'm preaching it. I'm manifesting
it. I'm paraphrasing it by other
scripture. But John 14, look at this. Here's
what our Lord said to Judas, not Iscariot, but Jude. who asked
him, verse 22, he said unto our Lord, not Judas Iscariot, Lord,
how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us and not unto
the world? You see, he does that. He hides
himself from the wise and the prudent and reveals himself unto
Babes. He manifests himself to his disciples,
his chosen. He said to His disciples, flesh
and blood didn't reveal this to you, but My Father which is
in heaven. All that the Father giveth Me shall come to me. And
they're going to come and they're going to see My glory. How is
it then? Verse 23, He answered and said
unto him, If a man love Me, what about him? Love what about him? His glory. His glory. His salvation. Let such as love
thy salvation. His majesty, His glory, His power,
His sovereignty, His reign, His rule. His effectual work, His
blood, His righteousness, His wisdom, His sanctification, His
everything. It's all Him. You love that?
You love the sound of that? His righteousness imputed. Yours
are filthy ragged. Your works are nothing. They
don't account for anything. God won't accept that. But I
tell you this, here's the good news. He'll accept everyone in
the beloved. He'll accept everyone on Christ's behalf. Everyone
whom Christ died for. His effectual work. His particular
redemption. You love that? You love that? Let such as love
His salvation. Let the redeemed of the Lord
say so. Who saved you, fella? Christ did. Let those who think they made
Jesus their Lord, accept Him as their personal Savior, they'll
say, well, I made my decision, and I joined the church, and
I went down front, and I dedicated, rededicated my heart, and I gave
my heart to Jesus. Let them say that. But the redeemed
of the Lord will say, the Lord did it. The Lord did it. Let the Lord be glorified. Let
the Lord be magnified. His sovereign majesty may we
in glory see and to eternity love and adore. All glory to
Him. Oh, there's so much in a line.
Those that love me, they'll keep my words. They'll hang on my
words. Everything He says. A bunch of disciples, they appeared
to be disciples, but they weren't. John 6, He began to say many
things about His sovereignty. Oh, I can't wait to get to that.
About His sovereignty. And it says, many disciples walked
no more with Him. They said, this is a hard saying.
We can't hear this. We won't take this anymore. You're
just a man like us. You do what we let you do. Oh,
no you don't. And they left, and he turned
to his disciples and he said, will you also go away? They said,
no, what did they say? Simon Peter said, oh no, to whom
shall we go? You are our salvation, you are
our Lord, you are our Master, you are our Redeemer, you are
righteous, you are everything, you are our hope of heaven. You
are everything. You have the words of life. We
were dead men until You came to us. We were in darkness until
You shed light upon us. We didn't know You until You
revealed Yourself to us, until You manifested Your glory to
us. This is life. Those that keep My words, that's
what that means. That hang on His words like dear
life. Are you with me? Do you hang on His words as dear
life? Pharisees don't. Pharisees say, but, but, but,
but. Pharisees try to catch Him in His Word with whatever He
says, whatever His preachers say. They try to catch Him, try
to find something wrong. They say, yes, it says that,
but God's people don't but, they bow to every word He says. Over in
Revelation, I didn't write it down, but it says, the Lord took
to Himself and reigns. It says, the Lord reigneth. And
it says, and the nations were angry. If he didn't like it, God's people
do. Love it. Love to have it so.
Reign over us. He said there in John 14.23,
if a man loved me, he'll hang on my words, he'll keep my word,
he'll do what I say. And my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him and make our abode with him." We'll
just live with him forever and ever. Take up residence in his
heart and never leave. He that loveth me not keepeth
not my soul. And he said, the word which you
hear is not mine, but the Father's which hath sent me. And he said,
the Comforter whom I will send, here's what he's going to do.
The Holy Spirit of whom so many people like to talk. and don't know Him, the Holy
Spirit. He said He will take the things
of mine. Here's how I'm going to reveal
Myself to you. Here's how I'm going to manifest
Myself to you and not to the world. The Holy Spirit whom I
will send, the comfort of whom I will send, the Father will
send, He's going to take the things of mine and show them
unto you. He's going to show you that Christ
is all that you need. That salvation is in no other.
And all your salvation is in Him. Finished. Where am I? Psalm 145. Go over there. Got you worried now that it's
going to go an hour and a half. It's not. David said, now, His glorious
majesty, first of all, is that He came down here as a man. When John said, we beheld His
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, and I quoted it,
when we see Him there will be no comeliness, Isaiah 53, people
didn't see Him. But His glory, the King of glory
came to this earth. It was His greatest glory. He was glorious when He said,
Father, glorify Thou me with the glory which I had with Thee
from the beginning. John 17. Meaning, set me on the
throne. I'm going to be on the throne
and I'm going to enter back into my glorious person. She had this
robe of flesh, this covering, this veil of flesh, and every
eye someday will see me in my glory, in my majesty. But His great glory was to cover
Himself robe himself in flesh, make it in the likeness of sinful
flesh, and came down to this earth that didn't want him, that
didn't ask for him, and hated him when he got here, despised
and rejected him. And he didn't come to a palace.
He came to a barn. He didn't ride into town on a
chariot, on a noble steed, but on a donkey. He didn't die in majesty like
a king, you know, with all the flowers and all that. He died
in shame. But that was His glory. That's His greatest glory. His majesty. I once heard the
story, I don't know if it's true or not, but this one is, that
there was a king who was determined to set a prisoner free, so he
went to the king's prison, all the prisoners are here, to do
with as he pleased, to pardon or to destroy. He went to the
prison in order to pardon one of them and he disguised himself
as a commoner. and went into the prison. And
he began to hear the stories of various prisoners in there.
And one in there would say, I was framed. I was framed. I didn't do it. He began to blame
others. And this one said, it was my
upbringing. My mom didn't love me. And they
began to blame him. Pass the blame. Pass the blame.
Until finally, he saw one sitting in the corner, weeping. And he went over to that prisoner
and said, why weepest thou? And the prisoner said, because
I'm getting what I deserve. Because I'm scheduled to die,
I'm sentenced to die, and it's because I'm a guilty criminal. I've sinned against the king,
and I deserve to die. And the king, his majesty, said
to that man, you won't die. I'm going to pardon you right
now. And he took off that commoner's
clothes. He said, you see, I'm the king. And I say unto you, today, you're
coming out of here. That's his glory. In Proverbs
it says, it is a man's glory to pass by a transgression. It's his glory to forgive. Look at it. The first thing he
speaks of, verse 5, is his glorious majesty, his works. Man shall
speak of his terrible acts, his greatness. He's talking, I believe,
about his creation. The heavens declare his glory,
the firmament showeth his handiwork, day unto day others' speech. The heavens declare his wrath. That's part of His glory, people.
Yes, God is angry. God is full of wrath. God is
full of holy hatred. God will judge. God will punish
sin. Because He's holy, He's righteous
in all His ways. We read that. So He speaks of
His greatness, His terrible acts, didn't He? Terrible. The great
and terrible God. How many people have ever read
that? How many people think of God as being terrible? Terrible
means to strike terror in. Moses saw Him, the people saw
Him in His greatness and His sovereignty, and they trembled. That's the beginning of wisdom. That's the fear of the Lord.
That's to realize He's great and terrible. The dreadful God,
it says. To dread His punishment, to dread
His wrath. That's the beginning of wisdom.
The fear of the Lord. You'll hear those that fear Him. His greatness is His words, His
greatness is His person, His greatness... But look at this,
verse 7. One generation to another shall
utter the memory of thy great goodness and sing of thy righteousness. Verse 17 says the Lord is righteous
in all His ways. That means right, holy in all
His works. When Abraham came to intercede
with God for Lot and Sodom, all he could plead was, shall not
the judge of the earth do right? Yes, he will. He's righteous
in all his way. He's righteous. But the Lord
here, in verse 8, here it is. Here's His glory. The Lord is
gracious. Though he be high, the Scripture
says, yet he hath respect unto the lowly. To this man will I
look, he said. He that dwelleth high in a holy
place, he said, yet to this man, this woman, will I look to the
lowly, to the meek and the lowly, to sinners. Gracious. He delights to give this salvation,
to give this grace. He's full of compassion. That
means feeling. Oh, Psalm 103, He knows our frame. He never forgets. He remembers. Get a hold of this. This is His
glory. He remembers but dust and ashes. This is His compassion. The Lord
is slow to anger. We give Him every reason to be
angry with us. But the Lord is slow to anger.
and of great mercy. Oh, if that's not the greatest
news. It speaks of God being great. We're going to sing in
closing, How Great Thou Art. And that song talks about when
I through the forest, woods, and glades I wander, see the
birds, hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, and from lofty
mountains grandeur, But then the one verse that speaks of
His glory says, and when I think that God, His Son, not spared,
sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in, that on the cross,
my burden, Gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my
sin. Then, sings my soul, my Savior
God to thee, how great thou art. God's glory is his grace. Didn't he say to Moses, I'm going
to make all my goodness pass before you? Moses said, show
me your glory. And David said, they'll abundantly
utter the memory of thy great goodness and righteousness. And
God said, I'm going to make my goodness pass before you in the
form of a person. My Son, I'm going to send my
Son, all the goodness of God in Him, all the grace of God.
He said, I will be gracious. I will be gracious. I will give
eternal life to as many as God gave to Him, Christ said. That He should give eternal life
to as many as thou hast given Him. That He will give it. Grace. To whom I will be gracious. It's sovereign grace. We preach
sovereign grace. It's God's will, not man's will. Why? Because it's His glory.
It's His glory. And look at this. Verse 8 says,
He's of great mercy. That's the next thing He said
to Moses. I will show mercy. I will show kindness. I will
spare those that don't deserve it. I won't spare my son. I'll give them what they deserve. Give Him what they deserve. And give them what He deserves. It's mercy. God spared not His
own Son. He delivered Him up for us all.
All of God's people. The Lord is good to all. Verse
9. Yes, He is. His tender mercy is over all
His work. All His works praise Him. The saints bless Him. The
heavens declare His glory, the firmament. But God's people bless
Him. They bow the knee to Him. They
give Him all the honor and glory for all things. They speak of
the glory of His kingdom. It mentions the kingdom four
times there for three verses. They speak of the glory of his
kingdom and talk of thy power to make known to the sons of
men his mighty act, the glorious majesty of his kingdom. Thy kingdom
is an everlasting kingdom. Thy dominion endureth throughout
all generations. They're speaking of him and his
kingdom. That's what Hebrews 11 says of those people. All
those people it mentions in Hebrews 11. It says if they'd been mindful
of that country they came out of, Israel, but they weren't
thinking about Israel. That's not the kingdom they're
talking about. And that's not the kingdom God's
people are talking about either. This over here in the Middle
East, that's not the Jerusalem that they want to see. They want
to see Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven. Jesus Christ is not going to
sit on another man-made throne over here. No, He's not. He's
already seated on the throne right now. And what they want
to see is His glory. They want the heavens to part
and see His glory, see Him as He is. And they want to be in
that kingdom. They want to leave this despicable
place. They want to leave this present
evil world, and be in His glorious kingdom, where they can witness
and see the glorious majesty of His kingdom and His person. That's what they're talking about.
Paul said that in Philippians 2. He said that our conversation
is in heaven, from which we look for the Lord Jesus to come. He's
the one we're talking about. He's the one we're looking for.
He's the one we preach. He's the one we pray. He's the
one we pray to. He's the one! What's our worship
service about? Him! Why are we here today? Him! Why are we going to be in
glory? Him! What are we singing? Hymns! Unto Him, Him, Him, His
glory, His majesty. We're going to be like Sheba
someday. When we finally get there, by His grace, if we get
there it will be 100% by His grace, by His righteousness,
by His shed blood, by His Spirit, kept by His power, by His virtue. By His inheritance,
we're joint heirs. We don't deserve a thing but
hell. And if we get there, if we get
there by His grace, we're going to be like Sheba,
Queen of Sheba of old, that came when she came and saw Solomon's
glory. and heard His voice and saw His
ascent up on to the throne." He says, there's no more spirit
left in her. And she said, the half was not told to me. When we see His glorious majesty. I've done as good a job as I
could do this morning trying to say something about His glory
and majesty. And I venture to say it's as good as any man has
ever said so. But it doesn't tell the half
of it. She said, I heard of your glory,
my other company, but I didn't see it, I didn't know, I just
didn't have a clue until I came and saw you. He said, I haven't
been told. Oh, she said, happy, happy, happy,
happy. I'm so happy to be here. Happy,
happy, happy, happy. Happier are the people that sit
at thy feet. Happier are the people that hear
thy voice. Oh, since God loved Israel, He made you king, she
said. And if God loves you, He'll show you Christ's glory and honor.
He'll show you Christ's glorious majesty. He'll show you Christ
crucified. He'll show you His redemption.
He'll show you His blood. He'll show you His righteousness.
He'll show you Him. And you'll be everything else
and everyone else will pale! And you won't glory in anything
and anyone, certainly not your own pitiful works! Filthy rags! No one could have seen His glory
ever since anything about themselves. When they see His glory as the
only begotten of the Father, full of grace, saving grace,
keeping grace, restraining grace, and truth. I'm telling you the
truth. It will set you free from religion,
set you free from your sins, set you free from false preachers.
Sets you free from Satan. Sets you free from being captives.
Know the truth. What's the truth? Pilate said
to his disciples. He didn't answer him. He didn't
answer Pilate, but he said to his disciples, I am the truth. Have you seen His glory? His sovereign majesty? reigning
and ruling, giving salvation to whom He willed. But His condescending
glory, His greatest glory, His mercy, His love and His grace
for such despicable, John prayed about it, such despicable, ungodly.
He didn't die for good people. He didn't die for the righteous.
He died for the ungodly. Is that how you see yourself?
Are you that poor prisoner in the prison? Deserving? Like there's a thief
on a cross? There's a true story. I'm getting
what I deserve. And the King of Glory, He looked
at that bleeding form hanging next to Him, and He saw glory. And that King of Glory. And what did the thief say? You're coming into your kingdom. I want to be there. That's what
he was talking about, Joe. His dying breath was the kingdom.
They're going to speak of thy kingdom. This is your kingdom.
How did our Lord tell us to pray? Thy kingdom come. How did he
say end it? For thine is the kingdom, the
power, and the glory. How long? Forever and ever. What do you say to that? Amen.
Amen. That means you're going to be
in glory. You just wait. I ain't told a
half of it. I ought to pick this up Wednesday
night. Because I failed miserably. As
much as a man can do, Brother Scott says, that's the best I
can do. But if the Holy Spirit will take this, Christ will manifest
Himself to you in His glory. You'll never talk of anybody
or anything else again in admiration. That's what they said in II Thessalonians,
when He comes to be admired of them that wait for Him. Oh my. Well, that is the best I can
do. Number 37. I hope you can sing
this song like you've never sung it before. Number 37. Number 37. How great thou art. Let's stand and let's sing.
