I make no apology for being disappointed by the most recent presidential election. I went to bed disappointed and troubled, and woke up troubled and 'fretting.' And then the scripture came to mind . . . FRET NOT!
For all who are downcast by this present evil world . . . FRET NOT!

Lord said, Suffer the little
children, come unto me. The disciples tried to keep them
back. Suffer the little children, allow
them to sing if they will. Where were we, Mindy? Someone
else, their little child, was singing real loud like that in
service. I may have told you this, Hannah
was, we moved here, we were somewhere, Hannah was just maybe two years
old, about the same age as Sophie, and we were in a restaurant somewhere,
Mindy and I with Hannah, And she began to sing at the top
of her lung, He is Lord, He is Lord. And we both started to
quieten her down. And I said, no, no, don't do
that. She said, we're not going to
do it. Let her do it. Let her do it. Somebody needs
to, don't they? Praise the Lord. Go down and go to Psalm 37 with
me now. Psalm 37. I just said to Mindy the other
day, a few days ago, that we should not be disappointed in
what God has appointed. Knowing, not just believing,
but we know that God has foreordained and appointed all things all
people and things, and everything is working. He is working everything
together according to His purpose to fulfill that purpose for His
glory and for the good of His people. And we should not get
too upset over anything, should we? We should not. But we do. I do. I went to bed last night
fretting. fretting real bad. I don't know. I think I pretty much know everybody
in here is political persuasion. I'm looking at you. I've known
you long enough to know now. But I went to bed fretting, and
I woke up fretting. I didn't want to look at the
news. I just didn't even want to look at it. And then I thought of this Scripture
immediately. This Scripture came to mind,
and I read it. fret not, fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity, they
shall soon be cut down like the grass, wither as the greener." God wrote this. After I read
this, I had peace. Not before, but after. And that's
why God wrote this. That's why the Lord wrote this
for his people to read over and over and over. This is why God
doesn't speak out loud. This is why God wrote a book,
so that we all hear the same thing. We all get the exact same
words and promises from God, and we can go to it any time.
We forget what he said out loud, but we can keep going back to
what he said. This is written for our learning
that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might
have hope, hope in the Lord our God who reigns, hope in Christ
our Savior, our Savior. And the Lord brings, thank the
Lord, he brings his word to remembrance, the word which he's caused us
to hope on. I said I didn't want to look
at the news. It's not that I bury my head and say, I'm not burying
my head in the sand, as it might be accused of, but I'm burying
my head in this Word. That's what I'm doing. David
fretted. He fretted at times when he looked
at the sinful world around him. All of God's people do. He looked
at the sinful world around him. He fretted and looked at the
sinful man in him and he fretted. David envied. Remember? inverted Psalm of this, 73. David
said, I was envious at the prosperity of the wicked. He said, they
had more than they could wish. Their eyes stand out with fatness.
They are not in trouble as other men. But God's people, the waters
of a full cup, troubles and all are wrung out to them. He said,
I cleansed my hands in vain. Is my religion in vain? He said,
when I thought about it, it was just painful. He said, until
I went into the sanctuary, and then I remembered the Lord. He
heard a man preach. Heard a man read the Word like
we do. Heard a man preach. Maybe it was Nathan. And he remembered. And his heart smote him. He said,
my heart was grieved. My conscience was pricked. I
was so foolish. I was so ignorant. And he said,
I continually live with the Lord. What else do I need? I forgot.
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. I don't need
anything other than what he has given me. I have nothing to fear.
I forgot that I have nothing to fear. So our blessed Lord,
through David's experience and the pen of the sweet psalmist
of Israel, he wrote these blessed words. And this is one of my
favorites. And I know it's one of yours too. Words to keep us
from fretting. Ironically, I look back at the
last time I preached from this, and it was right around the last
inauguration. It was. Verse 3, he says, trust in the
Lord. Trust in the Lord. This is one
of the best words for faith. You know, trust. Trust means
to have implicit confidence in someone. or something. To have
confidence in someone's ability. Paul said, I know whom I have
believed. And I am persuaded he's able. His ability to keep that which
I've committed unto him against that day and the day of evil.
He's able. They said to Daniel, is your
God able? Yes, He is. He's in here with
me." They said that to Ananias, Azariah, and Mashiach. Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego. No God is able to save after
this sort, except the God of Daniel. It's trust in our Lord's
knowledge. Trust. Trust means to have confidence
in His knowledge. I love Psalm 139. David said,
Lord, Thou hast known me. You know everything about me.
And while that gives us some measure of shame, it also gives
us great comfort. He knows us and where He is anyway. He knows more about us than we
know about ourselves. And He knows us, and so we have
confidence in His knowledge of us and what we need. Known unto
God are all his works from the beginning." Trust is to have
confidence in the Lord's strength. Confidence. All power, he said,
is given unto man in heaven and earth. There is no power but
of God. If anybody has any power, remember
what our Lord said to Pilate, you can have no power over me
at all, nor can anyone have any power. All power. is of the Lord's
strength. Truthfulness. Trust means to
have implicit confidence in the Lord's truthfulness. God cannot
lie. Cannot lie. He's true. True. All the promises of God
in Jesus Christ are yes, yea, and amen to the glory of God. Amen. And faithfulness. To have
implicit confidence in the Lord's faithfulness. Great is thy faithfulness. Trust in the Lord, he said. Trust
in the Lord. Our Lord said then, He said,
trust in your Heavenly Father, because how much more shall your
Heavenly Father give what you need, do for you what you need,
answer you when you need answering, keep you, love you, and so on?
Trust Him. He's your Father. You can trust
your Father. There was a sailing vessel years
ago. Many passengers on board the
ship. And it went through a very rough storm. True story. And the passengers were distraught. They were all worried. Except
one young boy. And the passengers were amazed
that this young boy just did not seem to be afraid at all.
And one of the passengers asked him, son, why aren't you fearful? Why aren't you afraid? He said,
because my father is the captain of this ship and he wouldn't
let anything happen to me. Our Lord is the captain of our
salvation. Trust Him. Trust Him. Do good. Look at that. That's a cure for
fretting. Trust the Lord. Trust the Lord.
We don't trust Egypt. We don't trust Pharaoh. We sure
don't trust Pharaoh. Trust in the Lord. And do good.
Do good. And he said, You'll dwell in
the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Or in truth and stableness. Do good. You'll dwell in the
land. You'll be fed, milked and hunted.
Do good. What does it mean to do good?
They asked the Lord that one time, didn't they? What must
we do to do the works of God? What are good works? And the
Lord said, here is the work of God that you believe on Him whom
He has sent. Believe. Good works as opposed
to evil works. He said evil doers, good doers,
do-gooders as opposed to evil doers. Good works as opposed
to evil works. What's the difference? Basically, the work of all work, the good
work, is to believe God. The fool, the world, says there
is no God. They reject thumbs down. Sometimes I read some comments
after news articles. I go on that Sermon Audio. Any
of you go on there and look at the news? items on there, they
report it from the so-called Christian aspect. You read them,
Ty, don't you? Now, go down every now and then
and look at these comments that people make. Man, it will make
you shiver, doesn't it? The blasphemy and so forth that
people spew out. And it's getting more and more
that way, more and more blasphemous. But here's a good work as opposed
to evil workers believe. We believe God. David said, I
believe all thy precepts concerning all things to be right. And I
hate every false way. Paul said, let God be true and
every man a liar. You read that tonight, didn't
you? Where is the scribe? Where is the wise man, the scribe,
prudent, wise and prudent? Where are they? Bring them on,
he said. God's wiser. The foolishness of God is wiser.
What they call foolish. Believe God. Worship God. It's
a good thing, like David said in Psalm 92, it's a good thing
to give thanks unto the Lord. It's a good work. It's a good
work. God delights in those that worship
Him. The Father seeketh such to worship
Him. This is a good thing we're doing
here. Why is it a good thing? Well, it's good because God's
good. It's good because He's worthy. It's good for us to acknowledge
Him. And it will be good for us if
we worship Him. He said so. You're going to be
fed truth and stableness. You come worship, He said. God
doesn't prove Himself to man. He does not prove Himself to
man. But those that believe, He said, if you believe, I'll
show you. I'll prove myself to you. Worship. Give to support the cause of
Christ. That woman with the alabaster
box, you remember? Oh, her life savings. Perhaps
her children's inheritance. Our Lord was in that house that
day, and nothing was too expensive to lavish on Him. And she broke
that box and anointed His head with it. And the Lord said of
her, one of the few times He said this, She hath done a good
work. Anything spent for the cause
of Christ, for the support of the gospel, is a good work. Do good. Do good. It will be
well with you. You'll be fed. You'll be fed. If those people down there support
you, they're going to be fed. Well fed. Enable him just to
study and to preach, they're going to get fat. They're going
to eat fat things. and wine on the leaves, well-refined. Do good, he said. Service to
his body, he said, whatever you've done to me, or done the least
of these, you've done it to me, and I will repay you with interest. He said, if you give, your heavenly
Father will give it back with interest. Press down, shake him
down. Be a do-gooder. In a world full of evil-doers,
do right. Do good. Believe God. Declare
His Word. Declare His truth. Do the right
thing. Say the right thing. Very few
people are. You have nothing and no one to
fear. Nothing. No one to fear. You know, it
may come to legal persecution before this next administration is out of here.
And they will be gone soon. Real soon. It may come to some kind of legal
persecution for just standing up and saying what this book
says. You know? It's already very, very unpopular. And you're called a hate monger
for just telling the truth of what God says. I thought about
this. I may do a radio message soon
on what they call hate is really a message of love. Because if
you love people, if you love their souls, you're going to
warn them, aren't you? Flee from the wrath to come. You're going
to tell them the truth. If you love people, you tell them the truth.
If not, you leave them alone. But what they call hate, to warn
them, is really a message of love and life and death. We have nothing to fear, though.
We fear the Lord. We have nothing to fear. What
an honor it would be to start suffering real persecution for
Christ. You remember when Peter and some
of them were whipped, beaten, and they let go, threatened?
Don't you dare preach in his name. It says they rejoiced that
they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. They just
rejoiced. Went home rejoicing. They said,
now don't you go preaching anymore. And they headed right to the
temple, John. Right to the temple. Don't believe any of those stories
of secret societies. There were no secret societies
meeting for fear. No, sir. No, sir. God said, don't do it. Don't
fear them. Disciples were fearful before
the Lord arose. They were afraid. They were meeting
together afraid. When the Lord came, I'm alive. Fear not. Go. Stand before kings. They had nothing to fear. He
said, I'm with you. Fear not. I'm with you. It may come to
that. That might be wonderful. Delight
thyself, verse 4, in the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Delight in
the Lord. Delight yourself. He'll give
you the desires of your heart. You know, every one of us are
going to lose, like Job, we're going to lose everything eventually.
Not at the same time, perhaps, like Job. Eventually, we're all
going to lose everything if we live long enough. We're going
to lose our health, like Job. We're going to lose our homes
and families, our strength, our possessions. One way or another,
either in death when the Lord takes us or through trials and
tribulations, we're going to lose it all. Remember, that's
what he told Barak. Now, the Lord knows our praying. There are people and even things
that we delight in. I delight in my family. I delight
in you. I delight in some things that
give us great delight. Yet, if our chief delight is
the Lord Himself, the gospel, worship, fellowship, that's what
He said. He said He'll give you the desire
of your heart. And you'll never lose that. If
the Lord Himself is our great desire, you'll never lose that.
He'll give you the desire of your heart. He won't give you
everything that you ask for. He'll give you everything you
need. But if Christ is your great desire, then you won't need too
much else. You won't desire too much else. Like Mary. Mary, the Lord says,
well, she was sitting at His feet, remember? And he said to
Martha, Mary has chosen the good part, and it's not going to be
taken from her. It's not going to be taken from her. And if
you could see into glory right now, where Christ is, you'd see
a woman sitting at his feet, all smiles, looking up into his
blessed face, listening to his blessed voice. That's Mary. She's
right there. That's where I want to be, don't
you? She doesn't have any need of anything, just to hear him.
And my, my, delight thyself in the Lord. He'll give you the
desires of your heart. Verse 5, commit thy way unto the Lord. Commit thy way. The text or the
center reference, I like this, don't you? Roll thy way upon
the Lord. Roll the whole burden of life,
your life, on the Lord and His Word. Cast all your cares. Why? Because He cares for you.
He's got the care of you and He cares for you. He's the one
to cast your burden upon because He loves you, His people. So all that you are, cast upon
Him. Cast it upon Him. Your sins,
cast your sins on the head of the scapegoat. Confess your sin. This also means confess your
sin. Open up. Just open up. Cast all
your sins upon the Lord. And it says He'll bring it to
pass. What? Your pardons. He'll bring out
your pardons. He'll show you your scars. Cast
your sins upon Him. All that you are, all that you
think, all that you feel, all that you want, your whole self,
cast it on Him. Might as well He knows it anyway.
And do you good. All that you own, your home,
your family, your job, your future, everything. Here, Lord, I don't know what to do with
it. I can't do anything with it. I need your help. Cast your cares on Him. Commit thy way. Here's everything
about me, Lord. Here, would you please take it?
Take it. and give it to me as you see
fit, and lead me, and teach me, and show me, and guide me, and
prevent me, and restrain me, and constrain me." Here, Lord. Solomon learned it well, didn't
he? Solomon said, he said, "...in all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths." Trust in the Lord. Lean not so
that I don't understand you. Trust in the Lord with all thine
heart. Look at verse 6. He says, "...and He shall bring
forth thy righteousness as the light." What's your righteousness?
You bring it as a light. What's your righteousness? You
commit your sin to Him, your self, your soul to Him. I just
quoted Paul. Paul said, he's able to keep
that which I committed unto Him. What's that? Lord, here's my
heart taken seal. Here's my soul. Save it, please. He's able. To keep that which
we commit. And He'll bring forth thy righteousness
as a light. Who's your righteousness? You
read that, didn't you, John? Amazingly. 1 Corinthians 1.30. Of God are you in Christ. Who
of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness. He'll bring
that to light. He'll show you. Here's your righteousness. Here's your righteousness. Look
at it. It says, "...in thy judgment as the noon day." Now I see. Oh, now I see. Now I see. Clear as the day. As the noon day. This is the
way. Walk therein. The world, over
there in Isaiah 8, listen to this. The world walks in darkness. And we were once in darkness,
even others, but a great light has shined upon us. It says the
world will pass through the world hardly bested and hungry. It
will come to pass when they're hungry, they'll fret themselves
and curse their king and curse their God and look upward and
they'll look to the earth and all they'll see is trouble and
darkness and dimness and anguish and they'll be driven to darkness.
But He'll show you the light. Clear as a day. The world walks
in darkness, gropes to the wall, looks to the earth. And when
I look at the earth, I see nothing but a bleak outlook. You know what? I see a doomed
place when I look to this earth. For the highest reason, our Lord
said, look unto me and you'll be saved. Look at this, verse
7. Rest in the Lord. Rest in the
Lord. Turn to Isaiah 30. Isaiah 30. This is a verse of Scripture
that you just need to commit to memory, at least commit the
location of it. Isaiah 30, rest in the Lord. Rest in the Lord. What does that
mean? It means don't keep fretting over your sinfulness or whether
or not you're one of the Lord. Rest in his promises. Rest in his promises. One of
my favorite verses, none of them that trust in him shall be desolate,
shall be ashamed. Nobody that has ever trusted
in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has ever come to Him for mercy,
has He turned away. Nobody. And you keep coming. To whom
coming? He has never, ever turned any way. Any prodigal. No matter
how many times you play the prodigal. It's never been said, not you
again. Not him again. I'll send him
away. I've had about all I can know,
sir." Rest in the Lord. Quit fretting. He's talking about
fretting. Quit fretting over your sinfulness. He knows you're
a sinner. It's a good thing for us to know it, but quit fretting
so much over it and worrying about whether you're one of the
Lord's or not. Do you trust Christ or not? Do you trust Christ or
not? That's what our text says. It says He'll save them. The last verse says, He will
save them. Why? Because they trust in Him. John, that's about all I can
do. Not because they did this or did that. He's going to save
them. Why? Because they trust in Him. Did
you hear that? And I'll say it one more time.
He'll save them, not because of this or that, but anything
they do or don't do growth they make or whatever, because they
trust Him. My children, grandchildren to
some degree trust in me. To the best of my ability, I'm
not going to let them down. But I'm a man. God's not a man. Anybody. They that trust in Him
will save them. That's what He said. Look at
Isaiah 30. I love that. Verse 15. Thus saith the Lord God, the
Holy One of Israel." Now, he's telling us who said this, because
you can't lie, all right? Thus saith the Lord God, the
Holy One of Israel, in returning and rest shall you be saved.
Returning? Where? To Him. Where are you
returning from? The world. Sin, a prodigal, the
hog pen, whatever. Wherever you went, wherever you
wandered, prone to wander, wherever it was you went, if you return,
why would we return anyway? Why would a person return? Why
would a person turn all of a sudden? Why did the prodigal turn? Because
he turned them. And if he's the one that turned
them, he's got to receive them. Returning and rest. What does that mean? Just sit
down. Be still. Listen. No. You'll be saved. Saved eternally. Saved temporally. Saved from
whatever you need saving from. Despair. Distress. Worry. Fear. Doubt. You'll be saved.
Come and hear the gospel. We get saved every time if we
hear it. Rest. You'll be saved in quietness. You see that? And in confidence.
That will be your strength. And you would not. We just won't
do it. No man, he will not come. No
man can. But if you keep reading for yourself
later, it says, put the Lord away to be gracious. Oh, yeah. Yes, you are. You're one of His.
You're coming. You might run to Egypt, but He's going to turn
you again. Because He's good. Rest. Go back
to our text. Rest in the Lord. Don't keep
fretting. Rest. And wait patiently. See it? Wait patiently for Him. Wait. Don't act. Don't react.
Don't run away. Don't run ahead. Wait. Wait,
I say. Paul kept saying this, didn't
he? Wait, I say, on the Lord. Wait, David said. Wait. Wait. You know, fretting is, and those
of you who are, you know, like to take charge. Fretting is, I've got to do something.
We've got to do something quick. What are we going to do? What
are we going to do? That's fretting. Wait. Just wait. That's the hardest thing there
is for us to do. Wait. Patience. So hard to come by. Patience. Trial of your faith. Work with patience. Patience,
experience, meaning if you wait, you'll see, you'll experience
what he's told you to wait on. And then once you've experienced
it, you have hope like you didn't have before. Hope in his word. Wait, I say. He'll make it clear. He'll make it clear. 7, fret not thyself because of him
who prospereth in the way, because of the wicked man who bringeth
wicked devices to pass. He said over and over and over
again, you're going to see his end. You're going to see his
end. It won't be long. It won't be
long. Verse 8, another cure for fretting. Cease from anger and forsake
wrath. I'll just be honest with you,
I get angry a lot. I do. Anybody else like me? I
get angry a lot. I look at all the injustice in
the world. David did. He got angry. He even called on the Lord and
said, it's time for you to work. You've got to do something. They've
made void of your law. Lord, how long? Isn't it? He saw all the injustice around
him, all the corruption. That's what this psalm is about.
That's what Psalm 73 is about. We see all the wicked prospering
and having their way and all that, and the righteous suffering
and all that. Lord, do something. Wait. He has to remind himself. Wait. And cease from anger. I see all the corruption and
corrupt people. I get mad at Washington. I get
mad at Hollywood. Oh, do I get mad at Hollywood.
I get mad at CNN. I get mad at NBC, ABC, ZBB, WGGW,
you name one, I get mad at them all, don't you? Spouting off
their lies, spouting off their propaganda, spouting off, spouting
off. Getting mad. They're all liars. And they're prospering. And they're
having their way, aren't they? They're having their day. And
I get mad. Well, every dog does have his
day. But as Brother Barnard used to
say, payday's someday. Payday's someday. Wait. You'll
see. I want to call down fire from
heaven, just like the Apostle. Don't you? Call down fire. He said, well, cease from anger.
Who did this? Just who did this? Cease for
anger. Don't get mad because you know
who did it. Job could have, those Chaldeans,
let's kill them all. Those Sabeans took my sheep. The Chaldeans took my camels.
Just wipe them all out. No. God did it. So when we're angry, who are
we getting mad at? And, you know, we get angry.
He says, cease from anger and forsake wrath. We get angry at
others, like little children. We cry, Daddy hit me. He pulled my ponytail, you know. And what do you do? You get mad
at both of them, don't you? I'm going to spank you both.
Just stop it. Don't you? We get mad at each
other. Stop it. Cease from anger. Stop that.
It's the Lord. I get angry at events that happen. I get angry at little things.
You get angry at little things? Little things that happen? If
you're a mechanic, you do. If you drop a bolt, Murphy's
Law, it's going to roll where you can't find it. Every time. Little things? Why is that? I've
often thought of it. Have you ever thought about this,
Sam? It happens that you drop a needed cot or pen or little
key or bolt or whatever, you drop it and you've got to have
it and you don't have another one, and you cannot find it. You're
not going to find it. You think, why did that happen?
Teach patience. If anything, just teach patience.
The Lord did it. Because you need patience. And
just stop. Quit getting angry. Jonah. Remember old Jonah? He got mad
at everybody. He got mad at God. He was sulking
and pouting. He went over and sat under a
tree. And there was a gourd tree. I think that's where we got the
term gourd head. But Jonah sat over on that tree. And in the
shade of that tree, God grew that tree for Jonah's relief.
Well, God sent a worm Ate it and dried it up and the wind
blew on him and the sun beat down on his bald head and Jonah
got mad. He said, I wish I could die.
That's what he said. Look it up. Just wish I could
die. And God said, you do well to
be angry. God came to him and said, you do well to be angry.
Christ came to him. He said, you have nothing to
do with that truth. Why would you get mad at me saving
an enemy? Huh? You just do what I tell you to
do. Quit getting mad. Just take it. Cease for a moment. Quit fretting. Forsake wrath. Forsake wrath. Fret not thyself in any wise
to do evil. Verse 9 and 10. Evil doers shall
be cut off. They're all going to be cut off.
Every last one of them. Yes, they are. Tells us that
many times, doesn't it? But those that wait on the Lord. Those that wait upon the Lord,
they shall inherit the earth, the new earth. You see, why are
things so bad? Why do the people of this world
get this world, get their way? Because this is not our world.
This is not our earth. This is not our dwelling place. We have here no continuing city.
The children of Israel are a picture of all of God's people. They
are strangers and sojourners passing through. They didn't,
you know, didn't they vote? They stopped the Philistines
and, oh, so-and-so got elected. No, they passed them through. So in some respects, that's the
way we need to think of it. You know, what does it matter? We worry
about our children. Well, God gave us those children,
didn't He? He gave us those children. The
Lord gave them. He's going to take care of them.
Just like he took care of it. Don't fret. Don't fret. Wait. You'll see. You'll see. Cease
from anger, Gord Head. And what a fretful, sorry bunch
of people we are, huh? What an unbelieving, weak in
faith people that we are. So he says, here's a cure for
fretting. Trust. Believe him. Trust him. If you can't trust
anybody else, you can trust him. Margaret walked in all down the
mouth and said, how are you, Margaret? And she said, sad. I said, how come? And I remembered. I said, well,
just tune in. Just stay tuned. I've got the
hope for you. Trust in the Lord. You can't
trust our government. No, no. Who is governing? The government shall be upon
His shoulders. That's what the Lord said. And
of His reign and rule, no end. The King's heart is in the hands
of the Lord. Not the rivers of water. He turns
it with us wherever He will. For this purpose have I raised
thee up, Pharaoh. Yep. The Lord reigns. Happy? Alright. Do good. Do what's right. Say what's right. In a world
full of nothing but wrong, evildoers, wicked, Evil was coming to that
end where those that depart from evil make themselves a prey.
Now they're after you. That's all right. Say it. Say
it. Tell it from the housetop. Delight
thyself in the Lord. If He's your delight, you can
lose everything in this world. It'll be all right. You can't
lose Him. Commit by way. Everything about
you. Everyone. Everything. Lord, here
it is. It's your lead man. Rest. Rest. Like you're doing
right now. You have some measure of peace
right now. Well, remember these words. Ask Him to bring it to
remembrance. Wait patiently. Well, hold on
now. Just wait. In a few short years, we're going
to go the way from which we shall not return. We're going to our
long home. And it's going to be, and we
read there, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Nothing that maketh
a lie. Nobody and no one is going to
disturb our peace forever. And it's just a few short years.
Real soon. Sooner for some of you than others.
Wait patiently. Cease from anger. Don't get mad.
It's the Lord. Does that help? Help me. Now
you call me tomorrow when I get mad, and you remind me of this,
okay? Because how soon we forget. How
soon we forget. Stand with me. Our Lord, what would we do without
your blessed Word? And it is your Word. because
of the glory of it, the wisdom of it, the beauty of it, the
power of it, the subject of it. The Lord Jesus Christ. The peace we get from it. Oh,
the mystery of it. The majesty of it. Everything, Lord, it does for
us. Everything that it says of You.
Everything that it reveals of this world. Everything it reveals
of our hearts. This is Your Word. No doubt.
inspired, infallible Word of the living God, how we thank
You for it. Lord, let these sayings sink down deep in our ears. Write them on our hearts, Lord,
as we've already said. Order our steps in Thy Word.
Lord, let us not fret. Keep us from fretting. Keep us
from being too fearful. We have a testimony to witness. before this unbelieving world.
Let us be bold for the truth, zealous for the truth. Let us
be thankful before an unthankful world. Lord, let us have peace
before a world that has none. Let us truly believe and rest
in Thee and trust our Lord. Give us this trust, Lord, we
pray, for Thy glory and honor and for our good. Bless these
words and recall them to our mind when we need them. In Christ's
name, amen.
