How my God should die for me,
amazing love, how can it be that Thou should die for me? Okay, you may be seated. Back to Matthew chapter two,
Matthew chapter two. As I said, this story took place
sometime after. The child's birth. This is the story of the wise
man who came seeking the Christ. Now, let me. Remove some of the old traditions
that. Man has attached to all of this. First, let me just set your mind
straight about some things. Christ was not even born in December. As I said, these so-called holiday,
holy days are mostly man-made. Scripture does not tell us to
observe his birth. It does tell us to observe his
death. but not his birth. And I pointed out to you how
that we worship a living, reigning, ruling Lord, not a baby, not
a baby. He had to become a baby to be
a man, to grow into a man. He wasn't a baby long, and he's
not a baby now. So we don't make over a baby.
We do make over a sovereign Lord. He was not even born at this
time. He was born between May and June. According to the Jewish
calendar, the wise man did not come to the manger. You see,
in all these so-called nativity scenes, you'll see in that scene
you'll see three wise men have crowns on their head. You see
the wise men at the manger. They did not come to the manger.
That was the shepherds. Remember? It was the shepherds
who came to the manger. These wise men came to a house.
And it was several months later. And it doesn't say there were
three wise men. It just doesn't say that anywhere
in the script. Three wise men. That's just a tradition, right? I guess it's a good round number.
And they brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Three things. There
must have been three men. No. Some say there's as many as 25. So, you know. Let me just remove
all of that, all right? Just forget all of that. So just
dismiss all that tradition. But this story now, listen to
the message behind this story, the message of the wise men.
And I know modern religion uses this phrase, and I'm always hesitant
to use what religion is using, but still it's a good statement. Wise men still seek Christ. Wise men seek Him. Wise women, truly wise people,
seek Him. All right? Verses 1 and 2, when
Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the
king, that is a time period when He was born. Behold, there came
wise men from the east to Jerusalem. And it says verse to say this
is what they inquired and asked where is he that is born king
of the Jews. We have seen his star in the
east and are come to worship him. Where is he. Where is the
king. We've come. We've come seeking
the king. Turn with me to Matt. Psalm two. Psalm two. Why were these men
called wise men? Why were they considered wise
men? God said they were, didn't he? He's the one that wrote this
story. And they're called wise men.
Well, why? Because they were Eastern mystics and they sat
and meditated. Matthew Henry said this, whatever
wise men they were before, They're certainly wise now because they're
seeking Christ. That's why God said they were
wise men. The wise men came seeking Christ. So whatever they were before,
whatever wisdom they had before, it doesn't matter. But they're
wise now. They're seeking Him. Wise men
and women are truly wise only if they seek Christ. Look at
Psalm 2. Verse 10 through 12. Be wise
now, therefore, O ye kings. Be instructed, ye judges of the
earth. Serve the Lord with fear. Rejoice
with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry,
and you perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. Turn with
me to Psalm 27. Psalm 27, David is the writer
of this psalm, and God said of David, God said of David, he's
a man after my own heart. Look at what David said. Psalm
27, verse 4, David said, One thing have I desired of the Lord,
and that will I seek after. That's what I'm going after.
David's a wise man, isn't he? I'm going to seek. That will
I seek after." Read on, "...that I may dwell in the house of the
Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple." Look at verse 8, "...when thou
saidest, Seek ye my face." And God says that to every son of
Adam. You know that? Every daughter.
God says that to every one of us. Seek ye the Lord. Isaiah 55 says, Seek the Lord. He says that to all of us. All
right. Well, David was a wise man. Why? Read on. He said, When
you said, Seek ye my face, my heart said, Thy face, Lord, will
I seek. OK, that's what I want. What?
It's not a what. It's a who. Him. Turn with me to Proverbs 4, OK?
Look at a few verses, and then we'll go back and stay in Matthew. Proverbs 4. Now, you know Solomon,
don't you? The writer of the Proverbs. Solomon's
called the wisest man to ever live. Right? That's what God said. There's
never one before or after except the Lord Himself. Why was he
wise? Well, look at what Solomon Right. In Proverbs 4, verses 5 through
7, get wisdom. Now, who is wisdom? What is wisdom?
Christ. When he says here, get wisdom,
get understanding, get her, he's talking about Christ. All of
this is about Christ. Listen, the Scripture says, 1
Corinthians 1.30, He has made unto us wisdom. Christ is made unto us with wisdom. So Solomon here is writing of
Christ. All right, read it with me. Verse 5, Get wisdom, get
understanding, forget it not, neither decline from the words
of my mouth. Forsake her not, she shall preserve
thee. He's talking about Christ here.
Forsake him not. He shall preserve thee. Love
him. He shall keep thee. Wisdom. Christ is the principal
thing. Therefore, get wisdom with all
your getting. With all your getting. Now go back to, I had other places
I wanted to turn, but I don't want to wear you. Go back to
the text. These wise men were called wise.
Why? They were seeking Christ. With
all their seeking. They left the fire. They left
the fire. Let me get your attention. Sometimes it helps to get the
attention. A little boy in school, a teacher asked him, what was
the occupation of the wise men? He said, they were firemen. Firemen? Where did you get that?
He said, because it says they come from a fire. They came from afar. Not a far,
far, but afar. A long ways off seeking Him.
It was a great journey. They went through much difficulty. Because anything worth finding
is worth going through whatever it takes to find it, right? I could tell you so many stories
of things that were lost. And. I'll tell you this we were I
was down in the Dominican Republic. And. We were eating at a restaurant. But Rinaldo and his wife Laura
and her. His mother and had little. Youngest daughter named Samantha.
Samantha. Little cutest. I'm not beautiful. Anyway, we were all eating, having
a good time at the table, and Samantha slipped off. She's about
two and a half at the time, three. She slipped off, and we were
all talking, and we were eating by the ocean. There was a dock
that went out over the water. Down there, they don't have railing
or nothing like that. And this little child, all of a sudden,
the mother said, ¿Dónde está Samantha? Where's Samantha? And couldn't
find her. Father went frantically running
down where the ocean was. Looking everywhere. Oh well,
let's go back to Eden. Can't find her. You're not going to quit until
you find Samantha. Huh? We were all desperately seeking
Samantha. And I found it. I found the little
rascal. Oh, my. You talk about relief.
You talk about joy. You talk about happiness. You're
talking about. We weren't going to be happy. We'll never be happy
until we found someone. Huh? Seek the Lord. There is
no happiness. And that's what it means to seek
and seek. To seek means, doesn't mean sought. The word is seek, isn't it? Present tense. Our Lord said
this in Jeremiah, in seeking me, you shall find me. Seeking daily, it's not, well,
I made a decision years ago and I found the Lord, now I just,
no sir. Why is men, women, young people
seeking now? It's a daily thing to seek. Let
me say something to those of you who recently made professions
of faith. And I'd like to talk to each
of you personally, I'd like to ask you, how is the Lord going
to witness with you now as we said that he would? Are you? You feel more peace and joy because
of that. But let me warn you, that's not
salvation. How do we know you're a believer? How do we know? Because you got
in that baptismal? No, sir. I mean, several people
get in that that they're not here right now. But they've been. What determines someone who's
a disciple of Christ, a follower of Christ, a true believer. They're a seeker. And I tell
you, don't take it for granted. Don't stop seeking, seeking Him
as if that never happened. Seek Him personally. It's you calling on the Lord.
It's you looking into His Word. It's you. Seek Him. Never stop seeking. Never stop. All right, let me tell you how
he's found. Let me tell you how Christ is found. He's found in
his Word. These wise men found him according
to what? The Word of God. The Word of
God told them where to go, Bethlehem. The Word of God. And they found
him among his people. They found him among his people.
Our Lord said where two or three are gathered, that's where I
am. That's where I'm going to be. That's where you'll find
Christ. And this is why those who argue, well, I don't have
to go to church to worship the Lord. No, you don't. Oh, you
don't. Not to truly worship. But now,
if you say that. If you deny what the Lord has
said, where two or three are gathered, that's where I am.
And you say, I don't have to be there. You won't. You won't
be with Christ. I can tell you that. based on
his word. Well, I can worship him alone.
Yeah, you can, but not for long. There's no such thing as a solitary
sheep. It's not the nature of the animal. A sheep, no sheep,
you'll never find a sheep out there alone. They're two, they're easy prey,
the wolf, dogs, whatever will get it right now. They flock
together, or two or three together. These wise men, gathered together,
about 25 of them, and they went seeking Christ, and he was found
according to his word. All right? This is my point here.
Look at verse 2. What was it that brought them
to seek? If you're taking notes, what made them wise? Secondly,
what brought them to seek Christ? What was it that brought them
there? Look at verse 2. They said, Where is he that is
born King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the
east. They saw a star. They saw a star,
literally, in heaven. It's not like science
says a comet at that time, Halley's Comet or something like that. It was absolutely an apparition
of sight, a literal star. God sent this star. Where'd it
come from? God sent this star. God led them
to seek. Why were they seeking Christ?
Because God led them to seek Christ. God's the one that led
them to seek Christ. They would not have come seeking
the Christ had not God said, go seek the Christ. And they
wouldn't know where to look had not God pointed the way. You
see, God gets the glory for them seeking Christ. Right? God gets the glory for their
wisdom. They're wise because God made them wise. Man is not
wise by nature. Man does not seek God by nature. But God, who is rich in mercy
and for His great love, wherewith He loves some chosen people,
chooses them to seek Him. He sets his love on them and
sends his Holy Spirit and causes everyone whom he has chosen to
seek Christ. Yes, he does. God gets the glory. Listen to this. This is Isaiah
65. It says, I am sought of them
that ask not for me. I went years without being interested
at all in Christ, in God, in the gospel and all that as a
young man, not interested. More interested in girls, mostly. Not interested in Christ, you
know, for years. What all of a sudden made me
interested? I'll be frank with you, and honest
with you, I wasn't seeking the Lord. I wasn't interested. I've
told you my story, how there was a young girl named Mindy
Ballard, cutest thing ever to walk on this planet. Still is. And she happened to go to church.
She's a good church-going girl, you know. I wanted one of them. So I was seeking her. But I didn't know it. God was
seeking me. Looking for me, one of His lost
sheep. And He brought me to where that star was. What is this star? These wise
men saw the star as a light, as a light from God to point
the way to Christ. What's that? Thy word is a lamp,
the scripture said, a light that points us to Christ. Our Lord said this, they, the
scriptures are they which testify of me. My pastor preached on
this last Sunday night, and he said there are many stars. The
Old Testament is full of stars which point to Christ. Numerous,
innumerable stars that point straight to where Christ is.
So this is how. We find him in his word. God's
word still shines forth. Yes, it does. I know this world
doesn't use it much. They mostly use it as a prop,
you know, to kind of wave around. But the keeper of the light,
who's that? The church is called a lighthouse.
And the keeper of the light is the preacher. He keeps the light
before the eyes of the people, points them to Christ. Why did they come? All right? They were wise men because they
were seeking Christ. What brought them to seek Christ?
God did. God in sovereign mercy caused
them to seek Christ. And they sought Him through His
Word through their life. Why? Why did they come? Why did
they come? Now this is what made them wise.
Look at verse 2. It says, where is he? We're looking
for him, king of the Jews. But we have seen his star in
the east. We've seen his glory. We've seen his that which foretold
of him. Him, where is he? They came seeking
a person, not religion, but Christ, the king. And it says, read on,
we are come to worship him. This is why we're here. We have come to worship Him.
They weren't coming because it was Christmas. They weren't coming because everybody
else was coming. They weren't coming because it
was their duty to come. It was their desire to come.
They were coming to worship Him. That's why they came. To worship
Him. What is worship? We're here this
morning. What are we doing here? Worship. Worship. My pastor and I discussed
this at length while I was with him, this thing of worship. God
must be worshiped, and God's people must worship. Our children
must be taught to worship. Why? What is worship? It's not
plain religious games. It's not going through the motions.
Many draw near with their lips when their heart is far from
them. God is Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship
Him in Spirit. They must worship Him, number
one. God must be worshipped. Why? God is giving us the breath. We're breathing right now. He says, Worship Me. You're living
because I give you life. Worship Him. That means, Worship
Me, give thanks. Acknowledge him. Well, I don't
know God. Worship Him anyway. Give thanks. Acknowledge Him.
The whole world is shooting by right now. Giving no thought
to God, to worship of Him. And all those who say, I can
worship Him without going to church, guaranteed they don't. Guaranteed. Worship him. Worship means to
acknowledge him. Should not the creature acknowledge
your creator? Shouldn't the beast acknowledge
his master? Huh? Are you with me? We're here to
worship God. That's it. We're here to give
thanks. If you have good health, boy,
you ought to be sitting right here. I'll be giving thanks from the
bottom of your heart. Every one of us in here, rich
and increasingly good, have need of nothing. Pretty good health. Some a little failing, but you're
here. There are people in nursing homes.
There are people that are vegetables. Yeah, but I got trouble. No, don't be talking about that. We're here to worship Him. Give
thanks. our Creator, our Sustainer, our
Provider, our King, you know, He's worthy to be worshipped.
He's worthy. That's why we come here. You know, God's given me this,
God's given me that. That's not the sole reason. We
worship Him because He's worthy to be worshipped. Great, glorious. His works, His providence, chiefly
His mercy, His grace. Old Brother Barnard used to say,
anything this side of hell is mercy. The fact that we're all
not right now condemned and consumed. The scripture says
it's of the Lord's mercies that we're not consumed. He's worthy to be worshipped.
That's why we're here. That's why we come here to worship
God. Worship God. They came to worship
Him. That made them wise. They must
know that God's God and he's worthy to be worshipped. They
must know that everything they have and are that came from God
and he's worthy to be worshipped. They must know and believe that
Christ is their only hope and they've come to worship him and
seek him. That's a wise man and a wise
woman. I don't care how old someone
is and how smart they are and how much worldly wisdom they
obtain too. I don't care how many degrees,
if they've got as much as a thermometer behind their name. If they don't
know their God, if they don't seek their God, if they don't
seek Christ, if they don't acknowledge their Creator, if they don't
seek mercy at the hands of this holy and just God, they're ignorant
fools. Our Lord said that. He said,
He who has wisdom said, the fool hath said, no God. And though the world may highly
esteem them, they're an abomination to God. And God says they're
fools. They're going to find out. Why?
Let me ask you why even those who don't believe in God call
His name? Why is it in vogue now? Why is
it a passing word? Why is it on the lips of every
person, even those who do not profess to believe Him? Why is
everyone from little children to grown men saying, Oh God! If He doesn't exist, why call?
Nobody's saying, oh, Zeus, oh, Pluto, oh, huh? Nobody's saying, oh, Esther,
oh, Methuselah. Nobody's saying anybody's name
but God. Huh? Why are unbelievers calling God's
name? Their very mouths, our Lord says, is going to condemn
them. And I guarantee you, every son of Adam that reaches his
grave, that's come to his deathbed, I guarantee you, They're going
to be screaming God's name. Guarantee it. Guarantee it. God help them. And that's when
in Proverbs 1, if people had read it, God said, they're going
to call on me and I'm not going to answer. Today is the day of salvation.
Call on the Lord while he is near. Seek ye the Lord, Isaiah
said, while he may be found. He may be found this morning.
All right, seek him. Come to worship him. They're
wise men. These are wise men. Why? They come to worship their
God. Read on. It says in verses 9
through 11, verses 9 through 11, Now when they heard the king,
what he said to them, Herod said, You go find him and tell me where
he is and I'll come worship him. Well, they departed and, lo,
the star which they saw in the east went before them. There
it was again. You see, they came to Jerusalem
looking for it. And they came to Jerusalem. Well, they were actually going
to Bethlehem. They came to Jerusalem first. And the star was leading
them. And they tarried there a little
while in Jerusalem. Well, when they He continued
looking for Christ. The star was still there. It
was still out there. Now, why didn't everybody else
see the star? Huh? Why didn't Herod see the
star? Why didn't the wise men of Egypt? There are many so-called wise
men. Why didn't the Jews? Why didn't they see King? There
it is. There's the star plain as day.
is a real star. Why didn't they seek him? It's a mystery, isn't it? Because he's hid these things
from the wise and the prudent and revealed it unto his people.
Why don't people see the truth? It's right there, Brother Clay.
It's right there. It's plain as day. It points to Christ in
every verse. You turn to every page. And well,
there he is. Look, can't you see? No, I don't
see it. There is His glory. It's a star. I don't see it. Oh, blessed are
you if you see His glory. And it's right there. You come
back after a few days, and it's there again. Right there it is
again, pointing straight to Christ. And verse read on, it says in
verse ten, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. There it
is again. Oh, isn't that wonderful? You know, we've been a week,
it's been a week since we've been here. I don't know about
you, but I felt like it's been a long time since I've seen you.
I went around to every one of you, didn't I? Every one of you
that were here at a Bible study and greeted me. Why? I missed
you. In a week, And if you haven't
sat under the preaching, I have. Sunday night, oh, I heard my
pastor preach this. That's why I wanted to preach
it to you. Wednesday night I had to preach in Lexington, but I
had a good time. Worshipping together. If you've been a week,
it has to be, if you love it, it has to be a dry time. But
when you come back, there's that star again, and you rejoice.
Oh, there it is again. Isn't that wonderful? That's
what they said. Oh, what if we've lost the star? We're looking
for Him. And they went back outside. There
it is. Let's go, boys. Let's go. We've got to find Him. So they did. Verse 11, when they
were coming to the house, you see that? They weren't coming
to a manger. They were coming to a house. Where do I get that? Look down
at verse 16. Herod, when he saw he was mocked
of the wise men, in other words, they didn't come back, he was
angry and he sent forth and slew all the children that were in
Bethlehem and all the coasts thereof for two years old and
under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired
of the wise men. So from the time he asked the
wise men, a lot of time had taken place.
two years old and under. So this child could have been
two years old. So that dispels that old tradition,
you know. But he was a child, all right?
Verse 11, they came. Now why did they come and what
did they do? What did they see when they came?
They came looking for him. They came to worship him. Well,
verse 11 says, when they were coming to the house, they saw
the young child. They saw him. They saw him. They were looking for him. They came looking for him. Listen
to me. Anybody who's looking? They saw him. Our Lord said that,
Seeking me, you what? Shall find me. Anybody seeks
hard enough, they'll find me. Yes, they will. We found Samantha. And we rejoiced. Anybody really
seeking Christ, they'll find Him. Yes, they will. Now, you
and I know. That's right. And one of the ladies said, You read my lips? He found us first. We seek Him because He sought
us. We don't find Him first. He finds
us. That's why we go looking. That's
what Philip said. Wasn't that what Philip said?
He came running to... Who was it he came running to?
Nathanael, was it? Is that who it was, John? My
mind's drawn a blank here. He came running and said, We
found the Christ. Remember that? We found the Christ. Philip,
you were in a boat out there fishing. You weren't looking
for You were looking for fish. So when Christ came looking for
him, said, Philip, follow me. Philip started following him.
Philip ran to, was it Nathanael? Somebody help me here. They said,
we found the Christ. And Philip didn't find him. Christ
found Philip. But yet, no, yet, Philip laid
hold on Christ. You're the Christ. That's what
the woman at the well said, remember? That's what she said. I've found
the Christ, come and see." That's what they each one said. That
woman at the well went running home to her family and said,
I've found the Christ. And she said to them, come, come
see Him. You need to see Him for yourself.
Philip said that to Nathaniel. It was Nathaniel, I know it is.
He said, I've found the Christ. And Nathaniel said, can anything
good come out of Nazareth? And Philip said, Well, come and
see. Come on, look for him for yourself, and you'll see. They found him. They saw him. And
look what happened. Verse 11, it says, They fell
down and worshipped him. They fell down. They didn't jump
up and shout and everybody do the wave like it's some ball
game. They didn't scream and holler and foam at the mouth. Everybody started yelling, praise
Jesus. Did they? That's not true worship,
folks. That's a show of the flesh. If
you can't distinguish true worship of God from a ball game, now
you tell me. Huh? Surely there's something
different about the worship. Try this. Turn your TV on. Turn
it to the religious channel and then turn it over to ESPN. Leave the sound off. All right? Leave the sound off. If you can't
tell which is which, they're both a game. The fear of the
Lord. Did you read the – well, did
you hear the radio program? The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom. They that fear him, God is to
be had in reverence among all them that are about him. God
is to be feared in the assembly of the saints. None of this foolishness
going on in God's. No, no, you fall down. Fall down. This is how you knew, you know,
the true Lord Daniel. It says when Daniel saw him,
he fell down. in humility, in fear, in reverence,
in respect. Saul, remember Saul? Saul was
riding in on his high horse, religious fellow, you know, and
when Christ met him on the road, he hit the dust, fell at his
feet. John on the Isle of Patmos, what
did John say? I heard a voice, I heard the
word, and I turned to see, and I saw him, and I fell at his
feet as a dead man. When you see the true Christ
of the Bible, It will cause fear and trembling
and true worship and reverence and respect. That's how you know the true
worshippers. And look at this. They brought him gifts. They
brought him gifts. It says in verse 11, when they
had opened their, they worshipped him, when they opened their treasures,
they presented unto him gifts, gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
But what was the first thing they brought to the Lord? They came. They fell at his feet. I am thine,
O Lord, I have heard thy voice. I am here to worship you. I am
here to worship you. You don't worship the Lord with
men. God isn't worshiped with men's
hands or you don't pay for your religion. Do you remember the story of
that old Indian chief? It must be a true story. old
Indian chief, a missionary, preached the gospel to him. And he was
broken and rejoiced in what he heard. And he came to the missionary,
and in broken English, he said to him, he had in his arms, the
chief had in his arms his bow and arrow. Now, to an Indian
back then, an American Indian, that was everything. They made
each arrow. and made those bows. They went
to great lengths. It cost him a lot. He was giving
a lot. He said, in his broken language,
me give me bow and arrow to the Lord. And the missionary wisely
said, Chief, the Lord doesn't want your bow and arrow. He doesn't
need your bow and arrow. He left. Came back a little while
later. He had his head dressed with all those eagles. that were
trophies of all his exploits and all of his things, his own
glory. He brought his own glory. Renouncing it. Giving it all.
I'll give my headdress to the Lord. And the missionary wisely said,
gee, the Lord doesn't want your headdress. He's pleased that
the man is doing that. But he said, that's not what
the Lord is after. He walked out and came back a
couple of days later empty-handed. Nothing. He said, I give myself
to the Lord. And the missionary said, he'll
take that. You see, you give yourself. Now,
I know the world is saying that, but it's true. It's true. I'm not talking about making
a bargain, you know. Lord, if you'll do this, I'll
quit this. I'll quit that. I'll quit my
meanness. I'll quit my smoking and drinking if you'll give me
a new job. Not that bargaining stuff with
the Lord. I mean someone who's seen His
glory, who's come to worship Him, who've seen His value, who've
seen Him as their all, and they come and they say, everything
I am and have, me, what was mine, my family, everything, it belongs
to you. If you give yourself, everything
you have is His, right? And this is proof. They gave
gold. Now, gold was just as valuable
back then as it is now, more so. It was rarer and harder to
find, harder to come by, less people had it. We can just go
to J.C. Penney and get all we want. Not back then. Gold, frankincense,
myrrh, gold, precious stones, precious spices. You see, these
are costly gifts. And I don't say this, and this
is not said in order that we might increased our giving. Now, love alone, true love, you
see, what it was, nobody told them to do this. Did the Lord say, now, when you
go to sea and you take gold with you and you take myrrh? Why did they do it? It's proof
of the sincerity of their love. If you love someone, If you really love somebody,
love is extravagant. You know it? You men, when you
went to buy that engagement ring, did you? Maybe I better not ask
this question. Another illustration. Anyway,
yeah, that's a good one. Good enough. I know what's in
me. But really, were you looking
for the cheapest thing you could buy? No, sir. If you really loved
her, you were looking for... If you could have afforded it
at the time, $100,000, you'd have bought it, wouldn't you? That's love, isn't it? Now, proof of sincere love and worship
is the cost. What it cost you? What it cost
you? What does the gospel mean to
me? How far are you willing to go
to hear it? What are you willing to sacrifice
to hear it? Hmm? I love the Lord. Well, who are
you willing to sacrifice for Him? What? Gold. They brought all they had. And I, in closing, verse 12,
says, being warned of God in a dream that they should not
return to Herod. Don't go back to Egypt. They
departed into their own country another way. You see, when you
come to Christ, you come seeking Christ, and you find Him, you'll
go home a different way. You go home a different way.
You understand that? You're not going to be the same
person that you were. You're not going to go back to the same
old fellers and folks. You've seen him. And now he's
captured your attention and your love and your affection. You
go home a different way. Like that queen of Sheba, I just
know that these wise men and women Went back to their country
and all they wanted to talk about was him. What did you see? Did you see the Holy Land? That's
what their family... Did you see the Holy Land? Did
you see the temple? That's what their family was asking. Did
you see Egypt? Did you really get to see Herod? Yeah, but let me tell you what
we saw. We saw the Christ. Let me tell you about him. Let
me tell you, let me hear about the Holy Land. No, you've got
to, you've got to see him. You've got to see him. You see
him, then that's who you talk about. All right, 389, let's
sing this in closing. One of my New Year's resolutions
is to start preaching shorter messages. It worked this morning,
it's all right. Well, you know about those resolutions,
don't you? 389. Stand with me. 389. I am resolved no longer
to linger. 389. Okay.
