Galatians

In the sermon titled "The Christ of the Cross," Don Bell addresses the central theme of salvation through the cross of Christ, emphasizing the sufficiency of Christ for salvation over human works and legalism. He underscores Paul's warning in Galatians 6:11-18 against the Judaizers who sought to impose circumcision and the Mosaic Law upon the Gentile believers, arguing that such attempts are fleshly and undermine the gospel of grace. Scripture references such as Galatians 6:14 highlight that true believers should boast only in the cross of Christ, which signifies the believer's crucifixion to the world and vice versa. The practical significance lies in the call for Christians to rely wholly on Christ's atoning work for their standing before God, rejecting any form of self-righteousness or fleshly performance.

Key Quotes

“God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”

“If you ever look to him by faith, you'll never stop looking. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”

“Our only glory is in Christ and Christ alone and the salvation he accomplished by his death on the cross.”

“The ceremonial law was nailed to His cross. The world was nailed to His cross. Its riches was nailed to His cross.”

What does the Bible say about the glory of the cross?

The Bible teaches that our sole glory should be in the cross of Christ, which represents our salvation and the fulfillment of God's promise.

The glory of the cross is a foundational tenet in Christian faith, particularly in the Reformed tradition. The Apostle Paul, in Galatians 6:14, emphasizes that he will glory only in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. This cross represents the central event of redemptive history, where Christ's sacrifice satisfied divine justice and secured salvation for the elect. In doing so, it underscores the futility of human efforts to earn salvation through works or adherence to the law. Thus, the cross stands as the ultimate symbol of grace, where all boasting in human merit is silenced in the presence of God's grace.

Galatians 6:14, Romans 1:16-17

How do we know that salvation is only through Christ?

The Bible clearly states that salvation is found only in Christ, as He is the way, the truth, and the life.

The exclusive nature of salvation through Christ is a doctrinal cornerstone in Reformed theology, rooted in Scripture. In John 14:6, Jesus says, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.' This a clear declaration that faith in Christ is essential for salvation. The apostle Paul further supports this in Galatians 6, asserting that neither circumcision nor uncircumcision—symbolic of human effort—counts for anything apart from faith in Christ. Therefore, salvation is not contingent upon our actions but upon God's sovereign grace as channeled through the redemptive work of Jesus.

John 14:6, Galatians 6:15, Acts 4:12

Why is grace important for Christians?

Grace is the foundation of the Christian faith, providing unmerited favor and ensuring salvation through Christ.

Grace is paramount in the life of a believer as it defines the relational aspect of salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 affirms that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works, which highlights our total reliance on God's unmerited favor. This grace empowers us to live out our faith authentically, transforming our lives into vessels of His glory. The gospel is a call to acknowledge that we bring nothing to our salvation; instead, we receive everything from Christ. Thus, understanding and embracing grace cultivates humility, gratitude, and a greater love for our Savior, prompting us to serve Him out of love and thankfulness rather than obligation or fear.

O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see. There's light for a look at the Savior, And live for abundant and free. Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and praise. Through death into life everlasting, He passed and we follow Him there. Over us in no more have dominion, For more than conquerors we are. His word shall not fail you, He promised. Believe Him and all will be well. Then go to a world that is thine. His perfect salvation to tell. Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face Turn with me to Galatians chapter 6. We'll finish up Galatians tonight. And when I get back, I may bring another message or two from it and some things I wanted to look at. Started verse eight and finished the chapter.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption. But he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. As we therefore have opportunity, let us do good unto all, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

You see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised, only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. But God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. From henceforth let no man trouble me. For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Oh, Lord, our great, glorious, blessed God of heaven and earth. Lord, we are so thankful, thankful, so thankful in the depths of our heart and soul for your great, great mercies, your great, great grace, this glorious free salvation you gave us in our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you, Lord, that it started in eternity, continues in time, and goes into everlasting. And our Lord Jesus Christ, bless his name, is the same today yesterday and forever.

And Lord, we ask for your presence in the service tonight. Enable me to speak with some wisdom, with some understanding. And may your church, your dear people here tonight, may they be blessed to have an understanding and have some wisdom in your word.

And our Lord Jesus, we pray for our brothers and sisters who are not with us through your providence. through the weakness of their body, through what they're going through in this world. God, strengthen them. God, encourage them. Hold them up by your free, sovereign grace. And, Lord Jesus, we ask you, please, to be merciful to our families. Oh, Lord, please make them understand how desperately lost they are, that they're without God, without Christ, and without hope in this world. And Lord, if you teach them that, if you make them trouble them, if you'd trouble them to where they'd want to come, hear what God had to say, we'd bless you and praise you forever. And if you don't, we're still going to praise you and bless you forever. Meet with us, please, for Christ's sake. Amen.

You'll find my title to my message in verse 14.

God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, for whom the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world. the Christian's only glory, God himself said, no flesh, no flesh should glory in his presence. And God's fixed it in such a way that he gets all the glory in this world from his people. And he brings glory to himself. Everything he does, he does to the praise of the glory of his grace. But Paul had great affection for these believers at Galatia, and his love for them was great.

And this letter to them was full of warning. Oh, how often he warned them. And he told them about the consequences of leaving Christ. You know, I marvel that you're so soon removed from the grace of Christ to another gospel, for there's really no other gospel. And all about the consequences. If you leave the gospel, you leave Christ. If you leave Christ, you leave the gospel. They go one and the same. And so Christ, you know, he set forth Christ in all of his glory and freeness of Christ. And all he worded the consequence of leaving free grace. And he's been earnestly, earnestly contending for true faith.

And as he gets to the end of this letter, he gives a clarion call at the end of this letter, and he said, God forbid. He used that phrase three times, three times. And when he said, God forbid, he said, shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How can we that are dead to sin continue longer therein? And oh my, he said here, he said, God forbid, there's only one thing that I can find the glory in, in this world.

One thing that I can find comfort in, one thing that I can find assurance in, one thing that gives God all the glory, and that's the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. And now look what he said down here in verse 11. Now remember, you know, when I, when I started reading, he said, he that sows to the flesh.

Now the thing is, when that, These lawmongers, these workmongers, these circumcised people that wanted to keep the law, they were sowing to their flesh. When you try to be saved any other way than Christ, and I don't care what else you're doing, you're sowing to your flesh. It's a fleshly salvation. It's an outward salvation.

It has to do with doing, or negative is what you don't do. And then, but if you sow to the Spirit, And I mean that you can't sow to the Spirit without having the Spirit. Then you reap what the Spirit gives you, life everlasting. And that's why I said, don't be weary. Just don't get weary in this battle. Don't get weary in this fight we're fighting. Don't get weary in it.

And then he says down in verse 11, he said, you see how large a letter I've written unto you with mine own hand. And you know, this is very unusual for him, said, see how large a letter I've written unto you with my own hand. And why did he say this is a large letter, a long letter? And why he said this is because my care for you is great. My fear for you is great. Oh, listen, the air you are exposed to is great. And so I write a long, large letter. Now, all the other letters that you read by the apostle, they were all dictated by him. You know, he dictated them to Timothy, he dictated them to Lucas, he dictated them to Silas, he dictated them to people and they wrote them down.

But he said, I, with my own hand, I wrote this letter to you. I wrote this with my own hand. I started and all you Galatians. And he went through this thing and every word that was written, he took his own hand and wrote it out. None of the rest of his letters are like that. There's always, you look at the end of them, it always says sent by or delivered by somebody else. So he, the apostles letter were written by someone else and they were signed by him to authenticate it. But he said, this I wrote in my own hand.

I'd love to have a heart like this man. Really be grieved and broken and grieved for others when they're exposed to such error, to see people exposed to error. You see, the chief purpose of this letter was to expose false teachers, expose their errors, to expose their hypocrisy, to expose their ambition. Look what he says now down in verse 12. as many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh. They constrain you to be circumcised only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ."

Now, Paul wanted them to hold to the truth. These false teachers wanted to make a fair show in the flesh. Now, what would it be to make a fair show in the flesh? What kind of fair show could a man make in the flesh? To make it look good. What kind of fair show can a man make in his flesh?

He said, but they do it. These men do it. You know, I just don't tell how many preachers are dressed up this Sunday as a bunny rabbit just so they can get people in church. Make them feel good, make them feel comfortable. But how in the world do you make a fair show in the flesh? These fellas said we make a fair show in the flesh because we are, look at all our converts and all that. And look what it says. Oh, they've done this, these fall teachers to make a fair show in the flesh.

To win the applause of men, the approval of their fellow Jews. by bringing these Gentile churches under the law of Moses to bring anybody to a Sabbath day, to a ceremony, to a ritual. And all of it was just an outward show. It astonishes me, and it is, it just astonishes me, because I've done it myself. But to people to think that they can actually show God a fair show, listen, look at me. My flesh has got, my flesh has got something that nobody else has got. And oh, it's just a, it's just a fair show and outward. And oh my, go back over here to Matthew chapter, I think it's chapter six.

I want to show you something, things over here about what these folks, you know, these fellas, these fellas, everything they did was an outward show, a fair show in the flesh. Their religion exists in either not doing something or doing something. They like to observe days. You know, the Jews' Passover, right tonight at six o'clock, the Jews' Passover started tonight at six o'clock.

And you remember the Passover, they had to have unleavened bread for seven days, no leaven in their house. And then on the seventh day, they was to kill a lamb. and roast that lamb with fire. But here's the thing, where in the world are they going to get a lamb? Where are they going to get blood? It's a fast showing the flesh.

And I thank God that we've got a Passover once and for all, and that's our Lord Jesus Christ, our Passover, who was sacrificed for us. And all their religion exists in observing things and circumcision and meats and drinks. And they congratulate one another in their spirituality and their devotion. Look what he said here in verse chapter six and verse one. Our Lord's teaching now here.

Take heed, this first thing, take heed that you don't do your alms or what you call a righteousness before to be seen of men. Otherwise, your father ain't gonna do a thing in the world for you. You're not gonna ever get a blessing for it. And therefore, when you do your alms, don't sound a trumpet. Don't tell everybody what you're fixing to do.

And don't be like the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have, listen to this, glory of men. Oh, to have man's glory in you and the man to brag on you? Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. The minute somebody glories in them, they got what they's asking for.

But when you do your alms, don't let your left hand know what you're right doing. In other words, when you do it, do it spontaneously. Don't wait and try to figure out what you're supposed to do. Don't do it so everybody can see what you're doing. And he says that your alms may be in secret, and thy father will seek in secret, he'll reward you openly. And listen to this, and then when you do pray, don't be as the hypocrites are.

They love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the street, that they may be seen of men. I tell you, they have their reward. And I'll tell you, you know, all of us have seen this happen. You know, you go to a restaurant or something and there's a whole bunch of people sitting around, they'll hold hands and they'll start praying. You know why they do that? They want everybody to know that they're believers, that they're Christians. And all you got to do is be thankful, say, Lord, I thank you for this. You don't have to make a show out of it. And I'll tell you another thing that bothers me, a lot of times it's the women that leads in the prayer. Would you pray?

Outward show of the flesh. Oh, make a fast show. Let everybody see what you are. Let everybody see what you're doing. Get your cross and put it around your neck. Get you a fish and put it on your car. Oh, my. And then everybody will know what you are. Oh, my. And oh, listen, back over here in our text, look what it says.

As many as desire to make a fair show in their flesh. Oh, they want you to, and they said, and they constrain you, constrain you, constrain you to be circumcised. They constrain you to be like them. Follow our rules, follow our laws. And I'll tell you a reason they do that, Because if they did not do this, then they'd suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. And they don't want to suffer. They want to be well-liked. They want to be honored. They want to be gloried in. They want the praise of men. They want the applause of men.

He said oh my if we if we believe in Jesus Christ and believe that he set aside the law of Moses that he abolished the ceremonies and the feast days and the Sacrifices if we believe that then then we'll start suffering We'd have to pay for that. You know and listen, I don't want to suffer I And if they believed, if these Jews believed that Christ offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down at the right hand of God, having perfect and sanctified, perfected them that are sanctified, then these Jews would suffer persecution. But all today, Christ is alone, without law, without work, without merit. And the gospel and the Christ and the cross is offensive to men.

Always has been and always will be. And all you got to do is absolutely tell somebody what you really truly believe and they ask you. And you do, you got a fight on your hands real quick. I remember years ago, And Steve Dishman will bear witness to this.

There was a whole bunch of folks, they thought, boy, we believe grace now. We believe grace. They come out of holiness churches and Western holiness and Church of God and all that, you know, where you had to, women couldn't wear, you know, you had to have your sleeves up to here and you had to wear dresses everywhere you went and couldn't wear makeup. You know, all kinds of rigmaroles. And I tell you what, and these folks got out of that mess, and they says, we believe grace now. We believe grace now.

Oh, we believe grace. You know what grace was to them? Just eternal salvation. When they finally figured out what real grace was, they quit, didn't they, Steve? They went here, yonder, and everywhere. They'd say, oh, you know, we'll start preaching about how sinful man is. They'd make fun of you being sinful. special in the flesh. Grace is more than just eternal security. I tell you, grace gives eternal life. And our security is in a person, not in our doctrine, not in what we believe, but in who we believe. You can get all your ducks in a row and all your I's dotted and all your T's crossed, but I tell you what, if you don't trust a person, it won't amount to nothing when it's all said and done. Wouldn't y'all agree with that? Huh? Oh, these fellas, oh my. And I tell you what, and look what he goes on to say here. Oh my. You know, every religion is glorious in something. And oh, look what he says now. Here in verse 13, oh my.

For they themselves who are circumcised keep the law. Neither are they themselves who are circumcised keep the law, but to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. And here's what's so sad about this. This is what's so blasphemous about it. They want you to be what they tell you to be. and live like they tell you to be. But Paul says they don't even do it themselves. That's the sad part about it. They don't even do it. And I tell you one thing the flesh cannot do. The flesh cannot, cannot keep the law. I don't care what you do. And I tell you, you cannot bring any part of law of righteousness.

You know what the apostle said? He said, if you offend in one point, you're guilty the whole. And if any man knows to do good and doeth it not, you know what it is? It's sin. And let me say this. If you kept, if you was able to keep all the law, all the law, except you broke one, if you just broke one, just broke one law all your life, you can't undo that. You'll have to face it. You'll have to face it. I mean, if you was able to, just keep going.

Break one, then you'd have to face God for a broken law. If you break one part of it, you broke the whole thing. It's like breaking a glass. You break a glass, you pick it up and throw it away. That's what you do when you know Christ. You throw the glass away. Get rid of it. Everything's broken. except those that are in Christ. Oh, my. And look what he says.

They wanted these Gentiles, but they themselves are who are circumcised. They don't keep the law, but they desire you. They want you to submit to circumcision. And look what it says, that they may glory in your flesh so that they can boast. And they'll say, look at my converts. Look how zealous I am. And I tell you, every religionist glories or rejoices in something. And these false teachers glory in the flesh, and in the noise that they make, the works that they do, and the souls that they win. Souls that they win. You know.

Ruth Crabtree and I was out messing around one day, years and years and years ago, back when we was back at that old building. We run into a fella up here and he started telling us how many churches he had built, how many churches he had established, and how many souls he had won. And that's when they had that little metal building up there where they built that million dollar, several million dollar building up there.

But anyway, he said, now you fellas, he said, listen, We'll build you all a church. We'll help you plant a church. And we'll give you all the money you need. You just got to join our denomination. You got to do what we tell you to do. We'll give you your Sunday school lesson. We'll give you your Sunday school literature. You know what me and Bruce said?

Said, oh, I don't believe we need that. I don't believe we want to have it. But that old fella got upset. Oh, you don't believe, you just don't know what we could do for you. But he never said what Christ could do for us. Never said what they could do for us. And that's what these people say. They want a glory in your flesh.

Glory in the numbers and glory in how many they've won. How many they've baptized. Back when soul winning was so big, back in the 70s and early 80s, and these soul winning churches were so big, they'd just bring them and bust them in there. And there was a church up in Chicago, and I can't think of the fellow's name right off my head, off the top of my head. But they baptized so many people that they just had a great big fountain opened up, and they'd run people under, make them stand there until they got plumb wet and let that move, and they'd burn another. That's the way they done it. And they wrote books about how to win souls. Paul never won a soul, never saved a soul. Peter never saved a soul. You know who saves a soul? Christ does, in Christ alone. And oh, listen to what they said now.

And look there in that verse 13, that they may glory in your flesh. But Paul says, you all go ahead and glory in that. You go ahead and glory in that. But I tell you what I'm going to glory in. You glory in the flesh, but God forbid that I should glory in your flesh. This is what I'm going to glory in. God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified under me, and I under the world.

Oh my. You know what it takes for a man to be saved? You know what it takes? To look by faith to the Lord Jesus Christ and continue the rest. If you ever look to him by faith, you'll never stop looking. Looking unto Jesus, the author and figure of God. And I tell you what, it's not being baptized, it's not being circumcised, and it's not being uncircumcised, it's being in Christ. You are complete in Him who's the head of all principalities and power. Oh my, bless His name. And then look what He says, oh boy, you fellas go ahead and do this.

You glory in your flesh. I tell you what I'm gonna glory in. I'm gonna glory in the cross. I'm gonna glory in Christ. I'm going to go in the cross and look like this, our Lord Jesus Christ. I'll tell you what my rejoicing is, what my delight is, what my rejoicing is, what my boasting is, what my glory in it is in the person, the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then the work of Christ. Now, I've told you this before.

People say all the time, I trust in the finished work of Christ. I trust in Christ who finished the work. I finished a lot of works in my life and it didn't amount to nothing. But the work is based on the person who done it. And that's why we trust Christ. And if Christ did the work, you can trust it. Not in a work, but in Him and what He did. His work stands or falls by who he is.

And oh my, oh he said, oh my, I trust in the person, I glory in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. I tried glory in the work that Christ accomplished on that cross. Oh my, not in myself, not in my works. not even in what God is pleased to do through me. I don't glory in that.

Our only glory is in Christ and Christ alone and the salvation he accomplished by his death on the cross. How useless and empty is self-boasting and making a fair show in the flesh. What is it if we attain of what we attain compared to what God's eternal purpose is in effectual atonement. What's our achievements compared to Christ's achievements? What's our victory compared to Christ's victory over sin, satisfying justice? And that's why I said, God forbid. Oh, God forbid. You go ahead and go in the flesh. God forbid. You do that. I'm not going to do it. I found one person to glory in, and that's my Lord Jesus Christ, and what he did on that blessed cross, oh my.

I'll tell you what, he said, Paul never saved anybody. No one else does Christ save. You know who Christ saved? All that the Father gave him. That's what he said. Everyone the Father gave, he saves every one of them. And then look what he says, I've only glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me. What's he saying here? The world is crucified. I don't fear men. What they can do any more than the one they nailed to a tree. And here's what happened. The ceremonial law was nailed to His cross. The world was nailed to His cross. Its riches was nailed to His cross. Its honor was nailed to His cross. Applause was nailed to His cross. Pleasures was nailed to His cross. Everything that's against us in this world was nailed to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Oh, my. And I tell you, oh, my. He said, and I to the world. What does he mean, hot to the world? I'm dead to the world. I was crucified to the world. What he's saying is the world has no affection for me. I don't have no affection for me. And I'll tell you what, and I have no affection for the world. I'm dead to its philosophies. I'm dead to its systems of salvation. I'm dead to the weak and beggarly elements. I'm dead to this world and its salvation and its works and its laws and its rituals and its Sabbaths. I'm dead to them. But look what he says now, verse 15.

For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision, being a Jew, availeth anything, nor uncircumcision avails nothing." You say, I'm circumcised, that makes me right. I'm uncircumcised, that makes me, he said, neither one of them don't amount to nothing. You know what amounts to something?

Being a new creature in Christ. He said, that's what, that's what happens, that's what happened at the cross. God made us new, being born again by the Spirit of God, made new creatures in Christ. A new spiritual man, a new man coming into existence. That's what he's talking about. That's what the cross did for us. It made us new creatures. Destroyed everything that we ever hoped in and brought us to one place in Christ alone. Oh my. But a new creation. Oh my. A new birth. A new birth. New creatures in Christ. A new spiritual man in Christ.

And oh my, look what else he says here. And as many as walk according to this rule. Now what rule is he talking about? Everything he said. You go ahead and glory in your flesh. You go ahead and make a fair show. I tell you what, if you walk according to the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ and glory in it alone, and the work that he did, that the world don't hold you no attraction, you don't want its applause, you don't want its honors, you don't want to be ambitious, and the world and its philosophy and all of its relations don't have nothing to do with it. And if you walk according to this, that it doesn't matter whether you're circumcised or uncircumcised, but it's being a new creature, being a new spiritual man in Christ, and you walk this rule, according to what I've laid down here in this blessed book. Oh my. And you know, and renounce all trust, all dependence on anything but the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ's righteousness alone. Walk in love. Walk in truthfulness of life. The love of Christ constrains us. Constrains us. And oh my. And look what he says.

Peace be on them. Peace be on them. That glory is in this cross. Peace be on them. And mercy. Upon. And this is. I'm going to come back and preach on this. The Israel of God. Who is this Israel of God? Hell, I'm one. I'm a true, I'm a true Israelite. I'm a true son of Abraham. Why? Because I believe God. And God said, I'm going to make him righteous because he believes in my blessed son. Oh my. Now look what he says here. From his fourth, let no man trouble me. I don't want y'all to trouble me anymore. You know, I don't want y'all to trouble me. His fourth, let no man trouble me.

And listen to this, for I bear in my own body, in this body, the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now go back to your left, to 2 Corinthians chapter 11, and let me show you some things that he talked about bearing in his body the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ. What he says down here in verse 22. Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. Are they ministers of Christ?

I speak as a fool. I am more. In labors, more abundant. in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft." There were 40 men laid in wait to kill him one night. Forty men laid in wait to kill him. Forty men took vows, I'm going to kill this man. And listen to this, of the Jews, five times, five times received 40 stripes save one. 39 stripes.

Five times, five times they beat my back. Beat my back with stripes. Whip my back. Three times I was beaten with rods. That's eight times then. I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. They thought he was mercury and they stoned him and left him on the road as a dead man and he got up and got up. Three times I suffered a shipwreck. I floated on a board day and night in the deep, in the ocean, in journey exhaust, in perils of water, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brother, in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hungers and thirst, in fastings often, a being cold and naked, beside those things that are without, that which comes upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak? And I'm not weak. Who is offended? And I dare not. If I have to glory, Our glory and the things which concern my infirmities. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, know that I lie not.

And under Ariatus, the king kept the city of Dacimenes of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me, and threw a wind in a basket while I let down by the wall and escaped his hands. That man, he said, look at my body, you'll see. And all these false teachers and brethren and preachers troubled the Galatians and they troubled Paul. They gloried in the fall. Paul says, don't trouble me, I've got in my body the very marks of the Lord Jesus Christ. You think, ah my, it's amazing what they did to him.

You know thy only glory, our only glory. That's why he said we glory in the atonement. And God himself said, I will not let any flesh glory in my presence. Nobody, nobody. Our blessed father in the name of our Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me the Wonderful privilege to preach the gospel again, to preach Christ again, to honor our blessed Savior and our glorious Lord, to talk about His cross, talk about His precious work, talk about, oh, Lord, how this flesh is so rotten, so corrupt, it thinks it can glory and it can boast and it can brag in itself. Oh, Lord.

Let us count it dead, dead indeed, dead and lifeless. Oh God, please have mercy on us. Bless my brothers and sisters who are listening, who couldn't come, and bless my brothers and sisters who are here. We bless you and praise you in Christ's name, amen. This thing's, I think it's 50 or 51, I don't remember which, 50 or 51. 51.

Let's stand together, sing this, and then you'll be at liberty to go. Bruce Crabtree will be here preaching for us next Wednesday night. Brother Bruce is going to be down here preaching for us. And that'll be, I'm looking forward to it. Get somebody else.

Praise the Savior, ye who know him. Who can tell how much we owe Him? Gladly let us render to Him all we are and have. Jesus is the name that charms us. Conflict fits and arms us, nothing moves and nothing harms us while we trust in Him. Trust in Him, ye saints, forever. He is faithful, changing never. Neither force nor gall can sever those he loves from him.

Keep us, Lord, oh, keep us cleaving to thyself and still believing. The hour of our receiving promised joys with thee. I love this verse. Then we shall be where we would be. Then we shall be what we should be. Things that are not now nor could be soon shall be our own. See you Sunday, God willing. Lord bless you.
