I want you to turn your Bibles
this morning to the 10th chapter of the book of Hebrews, and I
want to read a verse of scripture that would be a companion verse
to the 7th chapter of Deuteronomy that our brother read to us this
morning. Hebrews chapter 10, I want you
to look at verse 31, one verse, and I want you to see what it
says. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living
God. It is a fearful thing to fall
into the hands of the living God. Recently I read a comment made
by a clergyman wherein he spoke of the doctrine of eternal punishment
The doctrine that is so plainly and clearly taught in the Word
of God of eternal punishment as being a blasphemous doctrine. A doctrine which he would not
preach and anyone of his intelligence would not preach. And I thought
about the plain teachings of the Word of God and how in our
day and time you hardly find one preacher out of fifty that
will even say the word hell in the pulpit. You find so very
few that are preaching the doctrine of eternal punishment. find very
few that will hold up and declare the truth about the character
of the God of the Bible. The God of men's imaginations
being set forth today to men and women as they attend the
various assemblies across this nation. Did you hear what I said? I said that the God of men's
imagination is being set forth to the congregations of people
this morning, not only in Great Falls, but all across our nation. they're being lied to about the
character of the God of the Bible. Now we know and believe with
all of our hearts that the God of the Bible is a God of mercy,
and a God of grace, and a God of truth, a God of love. We believe
that. We believe that God loves his
people. We believe that God loved His
Son, and we believe that everybody that is in Jesus, everybody that
was chosen in Jesus from the foundation of the world in eternal
election, that they're loved as the Son is loved. Loved by
the Father with a pure love, a love that will bring them to
experience all that God would have a soul to experience as
they enter in by the sovereign operation of the Spirit into
the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that they will possess
all that Jesus bought for them at Calvary. and all that God
intended for them to have, both in this life, in soul, and both
in eternity, when we will meet yonder around the throne of God.
That all that the Father purposed that they would have, they will
have. That the God of love will see to it that all of His people
possess all those blessings that were purchased on their behalf.
But if you read carefully the Word of God, and as our brother
read the 7th chapter of Deuteronomy this morning, and talking about
these heathen peoples and how the Lord set forth and put a
difference between His people and those heathen people that
were upon the earth at that time. We begin to see the character
of the God of the Bible unfold. And I'll tell you this morning,
and I've mentioned this before, but I will tell you again that
we must, we must not whittle us out of God. We must not, with
our pocket knives, take us a block of wood and whittle us out of
God and paint it to the color that we like and imagine that
that's the God of the Bible. We must I'll tell you, we must
believe what God has revealed about Himself. Not what we imagine
God to be like, but what He has revealed Himself to be on the
pages of the Scripture. I believe that the God of the
Bible is a God who is vengeful. I believe the God of the Bible
is a jealous God. I believe that the God of the
Bible, as we read in verse 10 of Deuteronomy chapter 7, He
repayeth them that hate him to their face. He says, I will repay
them that hate me to their face, to destroy them. He will not
be slack to him that hateth him. He will repay him to his face. I believe in the severity of
God's inflexible justice. I believe that God will deal
with those who die outside of His Son. As they die in their
sin, that God will deal with them and bring upon them punishment
due their sin. I believe in everlasting punishment. Now let us notice some things
here. We've read this verse here out of Hebrews chapter 10 where
it says, it is a fearful thing. Oh, I wish this morning that
every one of you by the grace of God could have a heart that
is tuned in to what the scriptures have to say. Now, beloved, I
love to preach. about the grace of God, the love
of God, the mercy of God. I love to preach about how that
God with cords of love draw men and women and boys and girls
unto Himself. But I do know that there are
those that listen and they listen and they listen from Sunday to
Sunday, from month to month and on for years and listen to that
kind of preaching that their hearts are never broken in shivers. They have never been made to
tremble under the authority of the Word of God. I believe that
there are times when men and women must hear the thunder of
Sinai. They must hear the dreadful truths
of the Word of God that speak of the judgment of our God. They
must hear about how fearful a thing it is to fall at last into the
hands of a God of justice, a God of strict absolute justice. And I believe that that's exactly
what it was that first turned my heart away from rebellion
and away from sin toward the Lord Jesus Christ was when I
heard the message of judgment, when I heard about God, how fearful
it was to fall into the hands of a living God. And so I believe
this morning that both by the tenderness of the gospel and
along with the terribleness of what the Bible teaches about
judgment, that God is ordained to call his people out of the
world unto himself. And so I make no apologies this
morning for talking to you about it being fearful to fall into
the hands of a living God, because I believe that God will use it
this morning to accomplish His purpose in the salvation of His
sheep. So listen carefully as we talk
about this. I want this morning to say in
my First remark on this subject, it is a fearful thing to fall
into the hands of a living God, that surely it is so. Surely it is so. Now I think
that most of you can follow me very carefully. You have enough
of knowledge of the Word of God to be able to appreciate the
things that we have to say when I say surely it is so. It is a fearful thing to fall
into the hands of a living God. Think with me, if you will, that
this world as we know it today, is a vast cemetery. Think with me, if you will, that
all men from Adam down to this day, with the exception of two,
Elijah and Enoch, they died a physical death. We know the word of God
says, the soul that sinneth, it must die. The Lord told Adam,
in the day that you sin, you will die. You will die. And from
that time on, men begin to die because they sin. Sin is the
mother of death. And we know that men and women
die physically buried in the earth because of sin. The God of the Bible is a God
of strict, absolute justice, and because men have sinned in
Adam, we all die in Adam. Death is passed upon all men
for that all have sinned. I'll tell you, it is the judgment
of God upon humankind that they fall over, that they weaken,
the tent is finally brought down and they perish and they're buried
in the earth and go back to the dust of the earth. Think of it,
death, death, and then remember the flood. You remember how that
God brought judgment upon that people that lived in the days
of Noah. How that God moved old Noah,
and he had a heart that feared God, and he built an ark to the
saving of his house. And God destroyed the world in
the days of Noah. He sent the rain from heaven,
and the judgment of God came down upon the earth. The waters
came up, the strongest swimmer. There came a day, an hour, when
he gave up, when he no longer could keep afloat in the waters
of the flood. We are told by historians that
the earth was heavily populated in those days. God swept them
away. The judgment of God came. The
imagination of men's hearts were evil continually and the judgment
of God fell from heaven in the form of a flood and God took
them all away. The door was shut on the ark.
and the Lord brought his judgment so severely that only eight souls
saved by the grace of God were spared that awful flood. You
think the God of the Bible is not a God in whose hands when
one falls, a sinner falls, it's not a fearful thing? I tell you
it is indeed a very, very fearful thing. And then think with me
about Sodom and Gomorrah, those cities of the plain. whom Peter
tells us that God overthrew them, that God reduced those cities
to ashes. They were a city where people
lived just like you and I. There were people there that
were sinners, just like the people of our day and time are sinners. But there came a day when God
Almighty caused it to sleep fire out of heaven. Sheets of fire
came down from heaven and those cities were wrapped in fire and
flame and God reduced them to ashes. That's what Peter says.
The Lord reduced them to ashes. He brought them down and to make
them an example unto all that should after live ungodly. And if there ever was a generation
of people in America that needs to read that verse of scripture
in 2 Peter, they need to read it now. Because God said, I made
them an example to men and women who will afterwards live ungodly
lives. Homosexuality and lesbianism
is covering the earth. And we know that the judgment
of God is coming. And I'm telling this generation,
I don't care what the psychologists tell the men and women of our
day. I'm here to tell you that God said, there is the example. See them cities? and you see
them burning, see the flames, see the smoke going up to the
heavens, I'm telling you, God said, these people I've made
an example, and they that will live ungodly, they fall into
my hands. The judgment of God is coming
upon this generation. Just look at those cities. And
then we'll think a little bit about the Egyptians and how that
God brought judgment upon Egypt in the day when the Israelites
God was about to deliver them. And the Egyptians, you remember
old Pharaoh would not let them go. He said, well, I know I'm
not gonna let you go. Well, God, my friend, when he
delivers, when he plans to deliver, when he purposes to deliver,
when he decrees to deliver, he will deliver his people. And
so we read how that the Lord sent the angel and slew the firstborn
among all the children. Beloved, there were more Egyptians
in that land than all of the population of Montana. And the
Lord slew their strength. He slew the firstborn of the
family. And so the judgment of God came
upon them. And then after the Lord slew
them, he hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and we know that they
followed the children of Israel once the Lord had delivered them.
They followed the children of Israel out to the Red Sea. And
oh, when they got to the Red Sea, the children of Israel stood
still. According to God's word to Moses
saw the salvation of the Lord the the Red Sea opened up the
people of God went across and the Egyptians come up in their
boldness and brassiness and their rebellion and their sin and their
defiant and against the God of the Bible and down into the waters
they go. And I'll tell you, God made many
a widow in that day and many an orphan in that day when he
caused them waters to flow over them Egyptians and drowned them
in the Red Sea while his people stood on the far bank looking
back. God's people look back upon the
judgment of God. It is a fearful thing to fall
into the hands of a living God. Well, when we think about the
slaughter of all these Canaanites that Jonathan read about this
morning, God said, destroy them. He said, destroy them, wipe them
out. Anything is clear and most men and women are not able to
take what the Bible says about God dealing with those Canaanite
nations and how that the Lord said, you slay them, you wipe
them out, you destroy them. You do away with them. Somebody
said, I can't understand that. That sounds like a slaughterhouse
God to me. It sounds like a bloody, bloody
God to me. Any God that would have his people
to destroy entire peoples from off of the face of the earth,
children and all, and do away and destroy their possessions
and destroy all of their religion. and all of their accessories
that went along with their religion and wipe it out. I can't imagine
a God being so hard, a God being so severe, a God taking these
people and literally destroying them at his own purpose and cause.
And I thought about how that God said, well, now I'm not going
to destroy them all at one time. I'm going to leave them because
I'm going to use them to keep the animals from increasing so
bad upon the earth that those animals will threaten your lives.
God said, I'll just kill them off as I purpose and as I please. You say, I don't worship a God
like that. I'll tell you, Jonathan just read it to us out of the
seventh chapter of the book of Deuteronomy. I'm telling you,
it's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God. And you're here this morning
and you're in your sin, I'll tell you, you're subject to the
God that gives breath. Somebody said, you may die tomorrow.
It's true. Well, beloved, we're all subject
to the God who gives breath. And let me tell you something.
He gives them one at a time. One at a time. It is a fearful
thing to fall into the hands of a living God. Well, Who am
I that I should understand him, that I should be able to explain
all about the nature and character of God? Well, should the potter's
vessel think of understanding the potter? Absolutely not. Isaiah called the Lord, he said,
the Lord is that one that rendereth recompense to his enemies. God said, I'll repay him to his
face. I'm not slack. My enemies, bring
them before me, and I'll slay them, because I'm a God of judgment,
a God of wrath. Now, I thought about the Lord
Jesus Christ, and I thought about the words of our Savior, and
I want to say to you this morning that no preacher ever uttered
such terrible words concerning the destiny of the lost as our
Lord did. you can find the most polished,
the most eloquent preacher alive. And they would not come close
to using the language that our loving Redeemer, the Lord Jesus
Christ, that compassionate one, that one who had compassion upon
the ignorant, those that were out of the way. The words that
he used to describe that awful place where men and women were
going to go. I must take this time to read
a few verses to you. Turn back with me, we'll confine
ourself to the book of Matthew. Turn back with me, if you will,
and look in chapter 10 of Matthew, and let me read just a few of
the verses wherein our Lord Jesus speaks of that awful place where
men and women are gonna go after they leave this life, if they
die unrepentant, if they die in unbelief and die in their
sin. Well, he says in verse 28, and fear not them which kill
the body. While you're upon earth, while
you're traveling here and there, don't have a fear of them that
can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather
fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Fear him, Jesus said, that can
destroy both the soul and the body in hell. Now turn to chapter
13 of Matthew. chapter 13 of Matthew and let
us look at verse 41 and verse 49. The son of man shall send
forth his angels and they shall gather out of his kingdom all
things that offend and them which do iniquity. and shall cast them
into a furnace of fire. But, well, beloved, this morning
I want to tell you this, that this is no invention of mine.
This is not my language. This is not the language of your
kind. No, it is not. This is the language
of the God, the language of He that came out from the bosom
of the Father. This is the language of Him that
knows the true character of His Father. And He says, Shall cast
them listen to it in verse 42 He's gonna remove out of his
kingdom all things that offend and then which do iniquity and
shall cast them into a furnace of fire And there shall be wailing
and there shall be gnashing of teeth Wailing and gnashing of
teeth now look in verse 49 So shall it be at the end of the
world These are the words of the Lord Jesus. The angels shall
come forth and shall sever the wicked from among the just. Oh,
you say, I'll hide. My mother's a godly woman. Oh,
I'll hide. My father is one who trembles
at the word of God. I'll hide behind them. Oh, I'll
surely be able to disguise myself somewhere or another. Listen
to it. The angels will come forth. and they will sever the wicked
from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of
fire. There shall be wailing, there
shall be gnashing of teeth. Have you understood these things?
Jesus said in verse 51, have you understood these things?
These things have to do with my judgment. Turn to chapter
22 of Matthew and listen carefully as we read verse 13. Matthew
22 and verse 13. Then said the king to the servants,
bind him hand and foot. This is that one who got in without
the imputed righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. He got
into the wedding supper. He got in without having the
substitute. That one that Jesus has been
made to us. He got in without a wedding garment. And the king said to his servants,
bind him hand and foot. You see, this is the wedding
supper for the king's son, the Lord Jesus. Bind him hand and
foot and take him away and cast him into outer darkness. Cast him into that Egyptian darkness,
into that darkness that is thick. Egyptian night there shall be
weeping there shall be weeping and there shall be gnashing of
teeth for there are many called but few are chosen so these are
the words of the Lord Jesus Christ turn to chapter 25 and look at
verse 41 and I'm not I'm not beginning to exhaust all of the
passages that we could read chapter 25 and verse 41 Then shall he say unto them on
the left hand, depart from me. Now the Lord here has, in verse
33, he said he shall set his sheep on the right hand, but
the goats on the left. The goats on the left. The goats
on the left. Who are the goats? Well, the
goats are those who were not included among the sheep from
the foundation of the world. When God says I have my sheep,
He means that there are those that He chose in His Son from
the foundation of the world. These are goats. Not even a biological
miracle will change them. No, they're goats. And the Lord
sets the goats on His left hand and the sheep on His right hand.
Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, That's to the
goats. Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Depart
from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and
his angels. There was a preacher one time,
a psychiatrist asked him, I just interject this right now because
I feel it's necessary to do so. The psychiatrist asked him, said,
do you ever talk in your sleep? And he said, no, but he said,
I talk in other people's sleep. And the fellow said, well, how
can you do that? And he said, I'm a preacher.
I'm a preacher. And there may be somebody here
asleep, and I may be talking in your sleep, but you ought
to be awake. You ought to be awake. And you better be listening
to what we have here to say this morning. Listen carefully, we're
talking about how fearful it is to fall into the hands of
a living God. Beloved, if it is not a fearful
thing to fall into the hands of a living God, then why the
atonement? Why the atonement? Do you believe
that God, listen, if you think lightly of hell, then you're
going to think lightly of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now you listen carefully to what
I've got to say. If you're not a big sinner, I
mean if there was not some reason, if there was not some necessity
for the Lord to save us, if there was not something dreadfully
wrong, and if there was not such an awful and dreadful future
awaiting us, Beloved, why do you believe that God would have
hung His Son on that gory tree outside the city of Jerusalem?
Why would God have spared not His only, His only begotten Son? Why would God have nailed Him
to the tree? It's because, beloved, the Lord
The Lord has made a commitment to save His people from that
sin which would bring them into that awful place where there's
gnashing of teeth. That awful place where the worm
dies not and the fire is never quenched. Why the atonement if
it's not a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living
God? Look at Jesus hanging on that cross. See that blood dripping,
that blood dripping off of His hands and His feet. You see the
dreadful, the dreadful vengeance of God on His own Son. It was in order to spare us the
wrath to come, the wrath to come, that fearful falling, falling,
falling for all eternity into the bottomless pit. That's why
that Jesus bled, that's why he died. Now let me say this, do
not deprive yourself of the beneficial effect which a proper consideration
of the doctrine of eternal punishment would have upon you. Do not deny
the fact of eternal punishment. Do not deny the fact that one
of the attributes of your God is that He is a God that is inflexibly
just. He's a God that will deal according
to His Word, according to His truth, according to His nature
with sin. Remember that. And do not deny
the fact. If you do, deny scripture altogether. If you do deny that the God of
the Bible is severe and that He's a God of judgment and that
He's gonna send men and women, boys and girls to hell for unbelief
toward His Son, if you're gonna deny that, deny all the Word
of God. Quit fooling around with the
Word of God. Put it away. Do away with your Bible. Sell
it at your next broad sale. Get rid of it. If you're not
gonna believe what the Bible says about this, you're denying
this truth of eternal punishment. It will not do away with it.
I'm here to tell you that this morning. You can deny it as long
as you've got breath. And you and Mr. Payne and anyone
else who wants to deny it, all of you won't be dead five minutes
until you believe every word of it. Once you fall into the
hands of the living God, you'll know that everything the Bible
says is true about it. Don't let anybody tell you that
you're going to suffer a while, and then you're going to be annihilated,
that you're going to be wiped out, you're going to be destroyed.
Well, don't let anybody tell you that. Beloved, if I was going
to be damned for a day, I'd seek to miss it, wouldn't you? Amen?
If I knew I was going to have to go to hell for one day, I'd
do everything in my power. If there was an atonement, I'd
seek it. If there was grace, I'd beg for
it. If there was mercy, I'd plead
for it. Whatever I could do to miss that
one day of judgment, I would do it. But no, my friend. No,
my friend. In 2 Thessalonians 1, verses
7 and 9, it talks about Him punishing with everlasting destruction
those who receive not the love of the truth that they might
be saved. Everlasting destruction. How important it is that we see
that. You're not going to hell for a thousand years. You're
not going to hell, my friend, for a millennium. You're going
to hell everlastingly. To fall into the hands of God
is a fearful thing. You're lost. You're breathing
God's air. You're drinking God's water.
He's sustaining you in this world. And I tell you, one day, one
day, one day, the breath's gonna cease to come, and God's gonna
take you out of this world, and you're gonna stand before Him
and suffer for an eternity. No text in the scripture read
by honest men and women teaches that anybody is going to be annihilated
when they leave this world. No text of scripture teaches
that. Some suppose that instead of
annihilation, after a while, after a while, after a few years,
in everlasting burning, they say that there will be a restoration.
That sinners are going to be restored. In hell, well let me
tell you this, according to what the Bible teaches, there is nothing
in hell that is going to change a man or a woman, a boy or a
girl. Nothing down there is going to
change anybody. I'll tell you this, there may
be some preachers down there, but they sure are not going to
be preaching in hell. They are not going to be preaching.
They're not going to be telling you about a Savior. They're not
going to be telling you about mercy. They're not going to be
telling you about that great banquet of salvation which God
has placed upon His table and inviting sinners to come. They're
not going to be telling you that. In hell, no. Hell is where the
enemies of God is. Now there was a preacher one
time looking for a job. And he went to a church. And
everybody knew that he was a preacher who didn't believe in hell. And
so he asked his church, said, could I be your preacher? And
they said, well, if what you believe, you don't believe there's
a real literal hell. And if what you believe is true,
we don't need you. We don't need you. And if what
your doctrine preaches is true, then beloved, if these people
that preach there is no hell, then all preachers can go out
of business. Why we don't need them, we don't
want them. Why would you want a preacher if your soul was not
in jeopardy? Why would you want to listen
to somebody harangue and talk about everlasting burning and
talking about worms that never die and talking about gnashing
of teeth and talking about an awful place like hell? Why would
you want to listen to somebody preach that way? I mean, if you
didn't need it. And if there wasn't some truth
to the fact that men and women have a soul that's going to die
forever if they die unrepentant, unconverted, unregenerate, die
in their sin. I'm telling you the truth. We
don't need a preacher who don't believe in hell. We believe in
hell around here. We need somebody to tell us how
to get out of this mess or how to get out of this. Did they take the clocks down?
Well, we got just a little bit of time. You say, well, what
am I to do, preacher? What am I to do? Well, I think
what you need to do is to act accordingly. Let me tell you
what I mean by that. Unless you're prepared to say
that this text is a lie, then I believe that you ought to begin
to try to escape that dreadful hour when you would fall into
the hands of a living God. You ought to try to escape. Somebody
said, well how can I escape falling into the hands of the living
God? Well my friend, I'll tell you quickly. By falling into
his hands now. Now. By falling into his hands
now. In another sense. Submit yourself
unto the Lord. There's pardon Now, for the sinner
who comes to Christ, who gets to Christ, who believes on Christ,
there's forgiveness now, N-O-W, now, right now, there's forgiveness,
there's mercy, there's pardon. Ye sinners, the poet said, seek
his grace, whose wrath ye cannot bear. Fly to the shelter of his
cross. and find salvation there. To
trust Christ is the way of escape. There is room in the heart of
God. There is room at the table of
His grace. There is room in heaven for all
those that God is destined to be there. Return unto me, the
Lord said, and I'll have mercy upon you. I'll have mercy upon
you. You don't have to fall in the
end if you fall now into his hands. His hands now, hands of
mercy and hands of grace, hands of compassion, hands of love
and tenderness and kindness toward your poor soul. Fall into his
hands now. Fall into his hands now. John
3 and 36 says he's a believer. On the Son hath everlasting life. He that believeth not the Son
shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. Oh, believe
on the Son now. Believe on the Son today. Believe
on the Son in this life. Consider often what your own
end will be. Consider it. You say, well, I
don't like to think about God, preacher, because it makes me
uneasy to think about God. Well, I think that's the way
it ought to be. I think for a sinner to think
about God ought to make his money easy. But I'll tell you something,
you better think now about God. Because when you go to hell,
you're going to think about God a whole lot more than you're
going to think about Him here. I'll tell you something, men
and women in hell, they're gonna be thinking about God all the
time. Oh, if somebody would just come and bring a drop of water
and put it on the tip of my tongue. If somebody would just come from
over on the other side, if somebody would bridge that gulf from heaven
to hell, come down, God sends, send, that was the word That
fella died and went to hell, that rich man. He said, send,
send, send! Bring somebody over! He's thinking
about God and His ability. And I'll tell you what you're
going to be thinking about God when you get to hell. And I hope
that you feel uneasy this morning. You're going to be compelled
to think about Him. Your hatred of God will be intensified there. God is a good God. He's a merciful
God and a gracious God. But as we said, He's a God of
justice and a God of wrath and a God of judgment. But He's a
good God. And I'll tell you what, your
hatred toward God is going to be intensified there. You're
going to hate God for sending you to that place. You're going
to hate Him. You're not going to repent. You're
not going to get better in hell. If there was a chance that you
could get better and God would finally let you out, you're not
going to get any better. You're going to get worse. I've
read the book of Revelation, and I know what it says. Men,
when they're tormented, they will not repent. They will not
say, God, you're right. I want to be here. They will
not. They will not. I'm going to tell
you what. You better think about your end.
You cannot live always. There must be an end one day.
The last sermon one day, it'll be heard. The last song will
be sung. The last prayer will be prayed. Am I right? I'm telling you that
people went out of this world last week. I read the obituary
column last week. I read it about all the time
people are leaving this world. People in your town, your little
village, your little place, they're leaving this world. They're leaving
this world. They're dying. The last chapter
in the Bible one day will be read as far as you're concerned.
You'll hear for the last time, you'll hear for the last time
what this preacher's got to say and you'll die wishing, hoping,
intending, resolving, doubting, hesitating. All will be over. All of it. And you'll die in
that kind of a state. Procrastinating, putting off,
wishing, wishing, hoping. Oh, I'll do it someday. I'll
trust someday. Oh yeah, yeah you will. You will
have to leave this world and stand before a holy God. Oh,
that you would be wise. Oh, that you would consider your
latter end. And that you would trust Christ
now. The poet said, as I read it a
few minutes ago, Seek His grace, whose wrath you cannot bear.
Fly to the shelter of His cross and find salvation there. Well,
I had to tell you the truth about this. I never even begin to scratch
the surface. Our time is gone, but I do not
want any of you, because there are some of you, I do not know
whether you're going to ever trust Christ or not. You may
just die and go to hell, but I don't want you reproaching
me in eternity because I didn't tell you the truth. I'm telling
you today that if you don't know Christ, if Christ is not dwelling
in your heart by faith, If you've not come to the Savior and received
Him into your very heart and your soul, you're going to hell
when you die. And I want to tell you no uncertain
terms. I may not have a chance to tell you again. You may be
gone or I may be gone. But I'm telling you this morning
the truth about your situation. The God of the Bible is a God
of wrath and judgment. as well as a God of mercy and
grace, but you better fall now into his hands. Fall at his feet
now, now, now, now fall at his feet. Father in the name of Jesus,
we give praise for a message of hope. for poor sinners I pray
this morning that as this message is gone out from this feeble
preacher I pray father that you may have mercy upon this people
and these young people sitting here sitting here sitting here
and listening and listening and listening and I pray father that
they may hear for eternity this message and they may our father
fall at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ and beg for mercy
and grace today and that not a one of them shall sleep another
night without seeking the mercy of God, lest they should die
in their sleep and be forever lost. Father, save these poor
sinners. and bring them to thyself. Thank
you for, as we've said earlier, a message of hope, a message
of grace, a message of love and kindness and mercy. In Jesus'
name, amen.
