Today, I am cheered by the thought that being a Christian isn't based on my feelings, my character or even on my performance or I would be a total failure and doomed to destruction. I would have no assurance of my salvation and would be the most miserable of all men. As it stands, Christ is my righteousness and my salvation and I can rest fully, by faith, that I am saved and that there is a place in heaven for me when I depart this life. I have full assurance of my salvation because of what Christ has done on my behalf and, not only am I complete in Christ but I am accepted in the beloved. I cannot think of any better news than that!
