I remember what it was like to be blind,
Searching for truth in the darkness and despair.
But then He revealed Himself to me,
And now I see, His truth is everywhere.
I feel sorrow and pity for those who don't know Him,
Especially for His chosen elect, still waiting to see.
How could anyone who believes, have any pride,
When everything they have is a gift from Thee?
But I too struggle with pride, oh Lord,
Even pride in Your grace and Your love.
Purge my heart of all self righteousness,
Fill it with Your love from above.
Help me to lean on Your Spirit, dear Lord,
For all things, and not on my own understanding.
Prepare my heart for eternity, I pray,
Filled with Your love, overflowing and expanding.
About Brandan Kraft
Brandan Kraft grew up in the Missouri Ozarks town of Potosi and has worked in Information Technology since 1998. He began publishing Christian writing online in 1997 with the website bornagain.net, which later developed into PristineGrace.org.
Through Pristine Grace, Brandan writes and teaches from a sovereign grace perspective, emphasizing Christ’s finished work, the sufficiency of the Gospel, and the rest that flows from God’s gracious initiative rather than religious striving. His teaching is Scripture-centered, pastoral in tone, and shaped by real life rather than controversy or debate.
Brandan is a full stack developer involved in other projects besides Pristine Grace. You can read about his other projects and background at bkraft.org.
