Joseph Alleine once said, “You begin at the wrong end if you first dispute about your election. Prove your conversion and your faith in Christ Jesus first, and then never doubt your election.” Whatever God’s eternal purposes be (which are secret), we can be sure of his promises. “He that believeth on the Son hath life.” “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
Someone says, “Well, if I am elected, I shall be saved.” That may or may not be. But one thing is sure; if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be saved! And you have been elected, because his people are made willing.
