Although we are not of this world and are despised and rejected by the enemies of the gospel in this world, the Saviour does not ask the Father to take us out of this world; for we have a work to do, a gospel to preach, and our God to glorify. It is for his glory, the salvation of his elect, and the comfort and edification of his church that you and I remain in this world.

We will be called away to glory in his own time. Until then let us be about our Father’s business with the complete confidence that he has redeemed us, will never forsake us, makes intercession for us, and will call us to Himself when it is time.

My friend, Tim James, often closes his letters with these words, “I’ll see you when it is time.” As the shadows lengthen and our steps are a bit slower, we will continue to do what he has called us to do and “we will see him when it is time.”
