Generous people do not lose by helping others, for our Lord is able to make all sorts of blessings (both spiritual and temporal) come their way. Paul wrote in 2 Cor. 9:7-8, “If you are able to give cheerfully, God is able to make all grace abound toward you so that you will have all sufficiency in all things to abound in good works.” And David wrote in Psa.112:9, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor and needy; his righteousness endureth forever and his horn shall be exalted with honor.” These scriptures are declaring that the benevolent person who is merciful, generous, and kind to others shall be blessed of God to do even more for his glory.
