Can a believer be out of the will of God?

Answered in 1 source

Yes, a believer can disobey God's revealed will, but it does not affect God's sovereign purpose.

While believers are called to follow God's revealed will, which includes His precept and pleasure, it is indeed possible for them to stray from this path through sin or disobedience. As seen in the lives of biblical figures like David, such disobedience can have grave consequences, yet it is essential to understand that God's sovereign purpose is never thwarted by human action. His overarching plan encompasses even our failures, working all things according to His counsel. This awareness brings comfort, as it reminds us that God's grace abounds even in our shortcomings, allowing us to still declare, 'I delight to do thy will, O God.'
