Can a believer be unthankful?

Answered in 1 source

Yes, a believer can struggle with unthankfulness due to their sinful nature, but it is not excusable.

While believers are called to give thanks in all things, the reality of our sinful nature means that we can sometimes fall into patterns of unthankfulness. Romans 7:18 highlights the conflict between our new nature in Christ and our ongoing struggle with sin. Despite this struggle, our unthankfulness reveals a lack of trust in God's character and plans. As we grow in grace and understanding of God's sovereignty, we should seek to cultivate a heart of gratitude, recognizing that everything we experience serves a higher purpose.
