Can anyone pray?

Answered in 1 source

Only believers can truly pray as they approach God through Jesus Christ, our mediator.

While many may attempt to pray, true prayer requires a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. As emphasized in John 14:6, Christ is the way, the truth, and the life; no one can come to the Father except through Him. This means that genuine prayer is an expression of a reconciled relationship with God, acknowledging our need for redemption and forgiveness. Our prayers are presented to God as acceptable through Christ's mediation, which distinguishes them from mere requests made by those outside this relationship.
