Can baptism save a person?

Answered in 1 source

No, baptism cannot save; it is an outward expression of an inward faith that is only found in Jesus Christ.

The teaching of Scripture is clear that baptism itself does not possess saving power. As Romans 6:3-4 teaches, baptism is an important act of obedience that signifies a believer's identification with Christ’s work of salvation. It represents what has already occurred internally—the cleansing from sin and a new birth through faith in Christ. Therefore, while baptism is essential as a proclamation of faith, it is the blood of Christ that alone provides salvation, and not the act of baptism.
