Can we be accepted by God based on our works?

Answered in 1 source

No, acceptance by God is solely through Christ and not based on our works.

The Scriptures make it clear that acceptance with God cannot be earned through our works. Paul teaches that we are accepted based on what Christ has accomplished, not what we believe we can contribute through our own righteousness. In Galatians 2:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9, the Bible reaffirms that our faith in Christ’s completed work, rather than our self-justified efforts, is the basis for our acceptance before God. Hence, in approaching God, we must come empty of our merits, fully reliant on the sufficiency of Christ, who has perfectly met the demands of the law on our behalf.
