How are we justified according to Scripture?

Answered in 1 source

We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ, who fulfills the law on our behalf.

Scripture presents justification as a divine declaration of righteousness based on faith in Christ alone. In Romans 10:4, Paul states that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. This means that because of Christ's obedience and sacrifice, believers are justified not by their works but through faith in Him. Justification is a legal act of God where He pronounces the sinner not guilty and accepted because Jesus has fulfilled all righteousness on their behalf. Therefore, it is not our adherence to the law that justifies us but faith in Christ's redemptive work that imputes His righteousness to our account.
