How are we justified according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

We are justified by faith, not by works.

Romans 4:2-5 describes that if Abraham was justified by works, he would have had something to boast about, but Paul clarifies that 'to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.' This teaching affirms that justification is a legal declaration by God, not based on our deeds but on faith in Christ. Our righteousness comes from Christ alone, which is laid upon us through faith. Therefore, our standing before God hinges not on our own efforts but solely on His grace and mercy.
