How can a believer be assured of their hope in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

A believer can be assured of their hope in Christ through His completed work and the promise of eternal life.

The assurance of hope for a believer is anchored in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Romans 5:5 states that 'hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.' This assurance is not based on our feelings or performance but on Christ’s righteousness and the promises of God. Believers can rest in the certainty that through faith in Jesus, they have a sure hope of eternal life, free from guilt and shame.
