How can a Christian know they are truly saved?

Answered in 1 source

A Christian can know they are saved by resting in Christ's completed work and trusting in His promises (Romans 8:38-39).

A Christian's assurance of salvation comes from resting in the completed work of Christ and believing in the promises presented in Scripture. Romans 8:38-39 assures believers that nothing can separate them from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Confidence in one's salvation also arises from the transformation in life that accompanies true faith—ongoing growth, an increasing love for God and His Word, and a commitment to serving others. These are evidences of salvation, as true faith will manifest itself in a transformed life and a pursuit of maturity in Christ.
