How can a person approach God according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

A person can approach God by recognizing their sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The Bible teaches that to approach God, one must first acknowledge their sinful state and the need for a mediator. As indicated in John 5:24, hearing and believing in the Word of Jesus is essential for receiving eternal life. As human beings, we are spiritually dead in our sins, and the only way to bridge the gap between a holy God and sinful humanity is through Christ, who became our substitute on the cross. This truth was illustrated in the sermon when Billy realized he could not find God without recognizing his need for a sacrifice and a high priest, reflecting the need for faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
