How can a person be near the kingdom of God but not be in it?

Answered in 1 source

A person can be close to the kingdom by acknowledging truth and showing a good attitude, yet still lack a personal relationship with Christ.

In the sermon, it is illustrated through the interaction between Jesus and the scribe that having an understanding of God's commandments and showing an open attitude toward truth does not equate to being in the kingdom of God. Jesus acknowledged that the scribe's knowledge and demeanor placed him not far from the kingdom but did not indicate he was truly a part of it. The key difference lies in the acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior, which is essential for true salvation.
