How can believers be sure of their salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Believers can be assured of their salvation through the internal witness of the Holy Spirit and their faith in Christ (1 John 3:24).

Assurance of salvation is deeply rooted in the work of the Holy Spirit within the believer. 1 John 3:24 states that He who keeps God's commandments abides in God, and God in him. The presence of the Holy Spirit is the assurance that we belong to Christ and that our faith is genuine. When believers trust in Christ as their Savior, they are given new life and the Spirit teaches them to love God and each other, affirming their identity as children of God. Therefore, our confidence comes not from our subjective feelings but from the objective truth and promises of God's word.
