How can believers have victory over sin?

Answered in 1 source

Believers have victory over sin through Christ, who bore their sins and freed them from its dominion.

In 1 Corinthians 15:56, Paul explains that 'the sting of death is sin,' illustrating how sin leads to death and separation from God. However, through Christ's atoning sacrifice, believers are granted victory over sin. He took the punishment for their sins, satisfying divine justice, and in doing so, He removes the power of sin over their lives. Consequently, believers are no longer condemned by sin and can live in the victory that Christ provides, empowered by the Holy Spirit to resist sin and grow in holiness.
