How can Christians be preserved from heresy?

Answered in 1 source

Christians can be preserved from heresy by firmly fixing their hearts and minds on Christ and the gospel.

To be preserved from heresy, believers must keep their focus on Christ and his gospel. As Paul warned the Galatians against being bewitched by false teachings, he pointed out the necessity of adhering to the true message of Christ crucified. The preservation of believers in grace and faith occurs through constant preaching and remembrance of Christ’s work. Hebrews 3:1 encourages us to consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession. Therefore, a diligent focus on Christ not only safeguards our hearts but also strengthens our understanding of the gospel amidst a landscape rife with deceptive doctrines.
