How can Christians find assurance of salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

Christians find assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and His promises (2 Timothy 1:12).

Assurance of salvation for Christians is rooted in a deep-seated trust in the promises of Jesus Christ. Paul conveys in 2 Timothy 1:12, 'For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day'. This assurance is not based on individual merit but rather on the faithfulness of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life. The gospel provides a sure hope for salvation, where doubts about salvation originate from focusing on ourselves rather than Christ. Understanding that our righteousness stems from Christ’s obedience reassures believers of their secure position in Him (Romans 8:1).
