How can faith be considered the parent grace in Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is deemed the parent grace because it anchors our relationship with God and empowers all other aspects of our spiritual lives.

Faith is referred to as the parent grace because it is through faith that we first encounter God's unmerited favor and grace in our lives. As seen in Romans 4:5, faith is what justifies the ungodly, making it essential for our relationship with God and for receiving His grace. Without faith, none of the other graces can operate effectively in the believer’s life, as all acts of obedience and righteousness stem from a faith that is rooted in trust and belief in Christ. Thus, faith is foundational to the believer's experience of God's saving grace and ongoing relationship with Him.
