How can God be just in election?

Answered in 1 source

God is just in election because it is part of His sovereign will, and He acts according to His purposes without wrongdoing.

The question of God's justice in election arises from understanding His sovereign authority and the nature of grace. In Romans 9, Paul responds to the objection that God might be unjust by affirming that God has the right to show mercy or harden hearts according to His plan (Romans 9:15-18). Since all humanity is guilty and deserving of judgment, God's mercy shown to some is a testament to His grace, while His decisions to harden others demonstrate His justice. God's actions are motivated by His will and purpose, and as the Creator, He has the perfect right to exercise His sovereignty without being subject to human standards of fairness.
