How can I become more merciful?

Answered in 1 source

You can become more merciful by recalling and meditating on the mercy God has shown you through Christ.

To cultivate a merciful heart, believers must remain conscious of the immense mercy they have received from God. Regularly reflecting on God's grace, perhaps through prayer or Scripture meditation, helps remind us of our own state before Him and the forgiveness we have been granted. This understanding fosters a spirit of gratitude, which naturally spills over into our treatment of others. As we grow in our awareness of how deeply we have sinned and how graciously we have been forgiven, our capacity to show mercy towards others increases, making mercy a natural outpouring of our transformed hearts.
