How can I determine if I'm deceived about my faith?

Answered in 1 source

Examine your heart for genuine love for God, sincere desire for holiness, and a longing for prayer and communion with Him.

Determining whether one is deceived regarding their faith involves introspection and honest self-assessment. Key questions to consider include: Do I recognize my sinfulness and need for grace? Is Christ my only hope for salvation? Am I growing in my relationship with Him and in the fruits of the Spirit? The Apostle Paul emphasizes in Philippians 3:8-11 that knowing Christ is integral to salvation. If our lives do not reflect these transformative realities—such as a love for God's Word, a hunger for holiness, and a desire to grow in grace—we may be operating under self-deception.
