How can I have a pure heart according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

According to the Bible, a pure heart is given by God through the new birth and requires repentance and faith in Christ.

The Bible teaches that a pure heart is not something we can achieve on our own, as our natural disposition is deceitful and wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). Instead, having a pure heart begins with the divine act of regeneration, where God gives a believer a new heart through the Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 36:26). This new heart enables a person to see their sin, desire righteousness, and engage in a genuine relationship with God. Repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ are essential components in receiving this heart transformation, as one acknowledges their need for God’s mercy and grace in order to become 'blessed' as described in the beatitude.
