How can I have confidence that my prayers are effectual?

Answered in 1 source

Your prayers are effectual if you are a justified believer, as the prayer of a righteous person has power.

Confidence in the effectiveness of prayer arises from the believer's identity as a justified sinner. As James 5:16 asserts, it is the prayers of the 'righteous' that are powerful and effectual. This righteousness is not based on personal merit but on the imputed righteousness of Christ. When we approach God with faith, understanding that our acceptance is rooted in Christ's work, we can be assured that our prayers have an impact. Moreover, with the intercession of the Holy Spirit and Christ actively advocating for us, our prayers are refined and presented before the Father in accordance with His will, which further solidifies their effectiveness in the grand narrative of God's plan.
