How can I have the righteousness of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

You can have the righteousness of Christ by faith, through grace, as it is a gift imputed to believers.

The righteousness of Christ becomes ours through the grace of God by faith. Romans 5:17 explains it as a gift received by those who believe. This righteousness is imputed to us, not by our works but solely by placing our faith in Christ's finished work. Furthermore, this righteousness is also accessed through a vital union with Christ, as we are joined to Him in faith, thereby receiving His righteousness as our own. Therefore, believing in Christ and His atoning work is the means by which we are clothed in His righteousness, making us acceptable before a holy God.
