How can I know I truly believe in the truth of the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

True belief in the gospel is marked by a heart transformation and a love for Christ.

To know whether one truly believes in the gospel involves examining the heart's affections and the love for Christ and His truth. As indicated in James 2:19, mere acknowledgment of gospel facts is insufficient; even demons believe and tremble. True faith results in a change in life reflected in love for Christ, reliance on His righteousness, and acknowledgment of one’s need for grace. Those who believe will love Him and see their wretchedness apart from Him, thus prompting a heartfelt reliance on His saving work. A genuine belief will manifest in a transformed life that bears fruit in love, worship, and obedience to God’s commandments.
