How can I know if I am a child of God?

1 John 5:1 tells us that 'everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.' This assurance comes not from our performance but from our faith in Him. A true child of God will have an inherent desire to love God and obey His commandments, resulting from the transformed heart that the Holy Spirit produces. Additionally, if you trust in Christ alone for salvation, you can have confidence in your identity as a child of God. This belief manifests itself through a life marked by faith that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).
