How can I know if I have a false profession of faith?

Answered in 1 source

A false profession may be identified by comfort in religious activities without a genuine relationship with Christ.

The Apostle Paul warns against false professions in his letters, urging believers to examine themselves to ensure they are truly in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). A false profession often relies on religious activities, moral behavior, or church attendance rather than a heartfelt relationship with Christ. If someone finds their assurance in rituals or actions instead of in faith in Christ's finished work, it may indicate a false profession. True faith produces fruit, including a humble acknowledgment of sin, reliance on grace, and a love for Christ and His Word.
